Havoc Demon Hunter NEEDS Help! How Would I Fix it?

  • So if people have been keeping up with my content, its no secret that i've been pretty vocal about the direction of Havoc. There's just currently a lot of things that just straight up don't work, arent fun, or are just problematic. My issues arent really with SD/Cycle being the primary build, although i would like for inertia to be closer than 10% behind, but are more so just with the design of our Hero Trees and the design of our class trees.

    warlocks get to summon badass demons, deathknights can summon the 4 boiz, hunters get bombz and animals. Havoc gets to throw a purple dorito or use a fart cloud that sucks compared to the dorito : ^ )

    Think you just domain expanded my mind, with the idea of removing some of the 2 point nodes. And it's just such a simple change, leave em' as is but just make it a 1 point node so we can actually get gameplay aspects out of the talent tree. Be it fel barrage or essence break or w/e.
    Or as you mention later in the video moving these gameplay aspects further up the tree so we can take them, and then have capstone talents that affect said ability.
    Extremely good video! I'll come back to your channel once the expac rolls around because it seems to me you're fairly frigging bright when it comes to DH

      @@moondough1279 there’s a lot of simple changes that can do a LOT for the tree, LCK giving another charge of eyebeam doing some work there as well! Hopefully something happens but we’ll see

      @@VooDooSaurus for sure, start by moving disrupt and consume magic into baseline, so we free 2 talent points in the base tree. Then DH as a whole gets something.
      As for eyebeam, I have for a time wanted stacks on BD but then I feel like it wont really be doing much. Because we'd use the charge and for the rest of the fight it wouldnt really do much because we'd use it reasonably often on cd so we keep it in line with Meta. So what if instead of a stack, we get the legion headpiece where we get cdr on eyebeam?

    I have been following those beta videos you make and observing the gradual transformation. How the hopeful full of suggestions young Voodoo slowly turns to the Dark Side as the expansion approaches. I feel ya man, you make great points throughout the video. Havoc is indeed 8 years old but the first time devs really experimented with the spec was Dragonflight and they introduced a lot of cool things on launch and in 10.2. The bad thing is that they don't seem to follow the feedback provided to keep improving in the War Within. The spec still needs some core mechanics to come up to speed with other classes.

    all i heard was no mover is like 10% ahead and i almost cried, it might almost be worth the coke/crack addiction they expect us to pick up for havoc as it stand rn

    This is the move! Meyra and Topple were talking about doing similar for Vengeance hopefully we get that out too. I feel like the devs digest this content more easily than a list on discord

    14:30 people have said this since the rework. Now, they aren't going to do a rework to the spec tree because DH got one super recently.

    1) Make Reaver's Mark a buff on us instead of a debuff on a single target 2) Allow the buff to be extended past 20s, if the same type (15% vs 30%, resetting if you go the other way)-can reduce time of buff to compensate These things give us time to do other stuff than chaos strike while making this doable in M+ or dealing with adds. 3) Maybe some interaction with Glaive talents; maybe make Fury of Aldrachi a choice node that casting BD second essentially does the DF tier set

      @@bpredden I don’t think buff extension is something that should exist, it’s already like sinful brand we don’t need to push it that way MORE. Likewise, if chaos strike gave you the buff, you’d just always take the 30% amp and never use the glaive slashes, so I don’t think that’s necessarily a solution. The biggest issue is just that we have TWO amps with it, removing mark and replacing it with a big ST hit would go so far in making it play better

      @@VooDooSaurus how does this work in M+ with Reaver's Mark being a debuff on a single mob vs a buff on us? I understand focus macros and such; but is the expectation really to never change targets in M+?

    All good but in raid we HAVE TO take darkness so I guess we go for a different build, probably avoid lesser from sigil I guess

      @@jawy1981 nah you need the soul generation from the sigil or you’re just taking a massive loss, you’d drop a point out of the extra damage and fury on sigil of flame (or just tell your raid leader darkness is bad and we only use it if we absolutely have to)

    ST Ability: “Call to Illidan” - Summon Illidan to throw both his glaives for massive single target damage and increasing damage taken by X for X seconds

      would be better than current aldrachi (although lorewise illidan is stuck with sargeras so i guess it would have to be a shadow of him?)

    Fury warrior's CDR talent isn't flat cdr *BUT* it effects more than one thing because the dev realized you would always want to press those things together and having them desynced is terrible.

    Chaos Cleave deserves a return
    Looks Can Kill needs to return to baseline for good.
    Glaive Dance deserves to stay permanently as a talent (as Fel Bombardment maybe? even maybe becoming a choice node w/ Chaos Cleave) all the DH community considered it a banger and we almost unanimously want it permanently as a talent.
    Maybe changing it to only one instance of Throw Glaive (no extra free glaives) but increase the number of max glaive bounces to 5 targets
    The Hunt needs to become baseline at this point.
    Reaver's Glaive not interacting w/ Throw Glaive talents is atrocious even for pvp (it does not proc soulrend or the 50% slow)
    Fel Scarred numbers are dog overall, specially Abyssal Gaze and Demonsurge
    Essence Break and Glaive Tempest should share a choice node at this point in time

    I feel like on the left side we DEFINETLY DO NEED A CLASS TALENT TREE REWORK, but im working right now so i dont have ideas for it, on the right side we have to have the 2 point nodes removed and implement some new talents, such as the legion class artifact when blade tempest finishes dealing dmg it explodes, and radons for the more targets your eye beam hits the more cooldown it gets maybe have our eye beam crit baked in and have first blood with 15 fury and chaos cleave back at the top i think just these couple choices would make a huge difference in the spec tree and tune some numbers, prayers that blizz turd devs will listen

      theres a ton of artifact traits/legion leggos or old talents or tiersets that i think could come back and be pretty well recieved and more interesting than "eyebeam always crits" or "4% vers"

    Demon Hide Scars of suffering and looks can kill have to be the worst talent nodes when it comes to the havoc tree. I absolutely hate being locked into those nodes Demon hide is a throughput and defensive node all in one.

    To me when then did the rework they removed most of our baseline spells effects and then put it in different talents with addind 1/2 things wasnt existing. We have to spend half of our talent to get passive effect which was baseline in the spell before. The only good thing they did is the meta 2 min, but they fked the 8sec demonic, which can be understandable becuz they want us to play shattered destiny, but it's not playable with the 6 points u need to spend, just in the 2 point nodes. Anyways hopefully they'll look ur videos and take notes.

    As my raid teams dedicated dh I'm mentally preparing for Shadowlands 2.0. Get a 90% parse and get smoked by players with lower apm doing way more dam.

    i know it's not ideal but if u play with higher graphics u can actually see souls way better, it would be great to ba able to see them with lower graphics too tho but that's a way to fix it atm

    I'm hoping they change to a similar playstyle of Legion/BFA, I didn't play SL past the first month of release and Dragonflight making the only viable option of a build being momentum/intertia and throw glaive focused made me hate the class I loved most

      @@VBJJH current raid playstyle is basically just pushing chaos strike (and blade dance) on order to keep up reaver’s glaive as much as possible, essentially returning is to a sinful brand playstyle, which is similar to legion/bfa

    They made these hero talents with so little effort. It's a shame that this is their result when designing them. I won't play havoc in this state, while most of the other classes have much better hero talents. And since I find it hard to enjoy playing anything else at this point in time, I'll probably stop playing the game until they put some effort and make it good.

      @@vireoboss8290 the spec has fundamental problems regardless of what build us better. We’ve returned back to a sinful brand playstyle which is *not* good, except it’s much more punishing and the soul mechanic is terrible. Would I prefer inertia? Yes, but my problems don’t lie solely with that, and hand waving everything away because you’re happy inertia is a dead build is problematic

    i love how blizzard "reworked" the dh talent trees only to work with season 3 set bonuses. Both Havoc and Veng are terrible on the beta. So sad they have 0 ideas for demon hunter overall. They keep recycling the same shit since legion. Havocs only new ability is inertia and hunt, vengs the kyrian sigil. Looks like it really is a war within the for dh players.

    Not sure why you’re married to the idea of BD/DS having to be THE most damaging ability.

      @@MSalem7777 because it’s designed to be that way? It’s our short cooldown high damage spender, think rampage for fury warrior.
      If BD/DS isn’t our highest damage per execution time button, and there’s no other benefits to it (which they RARELY ever do, s3 Dflight tier is the only one) we just won’t push the button

      @@VooDooSaurus iirc the difference between CS and BD in Legion wasn’t as much as it is now, and things were fine. BD was just the AoE attack. If that’s the design philosophy, I don’t see a real problem with it, even though I agree with your other points about the soul collection, the 30% buff, the haste scaling, and the crappy visuals.
