The best, absolutely THE BEST song ever written. That opening guitar riff is instantly recognizable by anyone who grew up in the 60's and 70's. As a friend said "A guitar riff so dirty it needs penicillin." which sums it up perfectly. LOVE IT!

Needless to say, the night before the transplant she had an adverse reaction to the anesthesia and went into cardiac arrest. She had just had her 18th birthday days before she passed. Her death destroyed her families lives. It was such a great loss that my best friend, her older brother, never got over it. He died the week of Hurricane Sandy. ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK SONGS EVER! GREAT GUITAR SOLO! TIMELESS!
Hard to believe this song is 51 years old. I graduated high school that year and still love this.
One of the best songs, around the world🤣🤣🤣
1972
Who do you think would be a great Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress:
1-Christina Hendricks
2-Charlize Theron
3'Catherine Zeta-Jones Douglas
4Marcia Cross
@@johnpatterson4816 Marisa Tomei
@@DefJamGlycerine Sounds good to me.
Whose been here since the begining of this masterpiece? I was ten when this came out.
You cant find music like this anymore..... !
The music we have now is ass
Not likely....
We have Gretta Van Fleet and Dirty Honey.
But you found THIS.
So you absolutely can find music like this. It isn't going anywhere. This particular song was created in 1971.
It has survived for the last 49 years.
It will be here for another 49.
Music like this does exist today, you just have to dig deeper for it.
I'm a full blown metalhead, but this song (along with most of the Creedence CR's repertoire) is essential on my playlist!
Except it’s the Hollies not CCR 😄
I always thought this was Creedence
When I first listened to this song, I had to do a double take thinking it was CCR!😄
@@wetasspeggyhillwetasspeggy2017 me too. I was convinced it was and incredulous when someone told me it was the Hollies (the "Bus Stop must stop" group)
This is one of the greatest songs made by a mere mortal.
I still listen to this song.2024. my mom Introduced me to this song.
It's 2023 and this song still rocks
I was 21-22 years old, my best friends sister was hospitalized for leukemia and about to go through with the bone marrow transplant.
This song brings me back 3 decades to the funeral home for her viewing. She was such a great girl. A very beautiful girl. A star amongst us
I can't help but be reminded of her and my best friend whenever I hear this song .....
May their memories be a blessing. Thank you for sharing that. Great song! Much love ❤
May GOD bless you friend!
My Mama is 80 years young and loves this song!!!!
Best song the hollies ever played
The best song CCR never played.😊
Ive been lovin’ this song for 52 years now. Never gets tired.
The Hollies were one of the best groups ever, original and fantastic musicians
❤
It’s not the Hollies, it’s the band they were copying, CCR.
I got the same idea (and T Rex for the outro) but anyhow it's a great tune So Respect to U,The Hollies, Creedence & Marc Bolan 😇😇😇@@Martell-XO
@@Martell-XOnope. CCR was a band from a rich part of San Francisco. They imitated blues from the bayou. And I love their music, and perhaps they developed as contemporaries but never copied.

One of the most Iconic songs ever, God Bless the Hollies.........Remember the Titans!
Born in 1992, raised in heavy metal and screamo metalcore and this..is...one..of my favorite songs ever
I can listen to classic rock and roll for hours with no hesitation
me too...
One of the most underrated songs/bands/singers of all time. Allan Clarke and the Hollies were some of the best

My mother and grandmother both used to jam out to this classic! Mom would dance with me and the dogs!
Now her and Nana are up dancing with the Good Lord, hopefully he can keep up!
Nothing beats old school golden oldies... Reminds me of my wonderful father. ❤️
I liked the B-side, a long black woman in a cool dress😂
The transition from the start to the main melody is so smooth
Great opening riff. Also the bass line fills the song perfectly. I was 12 when this was released and I viewed this song as the epitome of cool.
I'm 63 years old used to groove to this at the roller rink with the girls LOL
Summer vacations from school listening to this was priceless . Simpler time .
When this song comes on at a red light, EVERYBODY hears it!
It hypnotized me when I was 10 years old the first time I heard it. Now half a century later I enjoy it just as much it has become part of me, because I have carried it with me through everything.
I'm almost 70 and still groove to this song song
71 and I feel18 when I hear it!
My older brothers played this great song. I still love the music from the late 60s and 70s. I'm in a time warp! But, that music was the best! 🙂
My words EXACTLY
The best CCR Song not made by CCR.
Gun
SO True! 😅
Sounds like green river😂
@@chuckvenrick Wenzel was being ironic.
@ted ritola Oh yeah that's right!!
Another great song that, absolutely, deserves to be blasted loud when played.
I'm 77, originally from Manchester and of all the tunes from all over the world for me at least, this has to be one of the best intro's to a song.
This song rocks on after all these years. Classics don't die, THEY BECOME LEGENDS!.
Love this song
My favourite song 🎵
Thanks
The bass in this song hits another level.
Legendary song by a legendary band . Love the guitar player intro. Just perfect.
Grew up in this era as well , never tire of these guys some music
I can never get enough of that intro 🔥
You can't help but love the Bass playing in this song is excellent
Please tell my I'm not the only Mexican girl listening to this classic, what a classic! ❤️❤️
I'm Peruvian hola buenas
I'm 1/64th Mexican, you go girl!
You are not the only one 😊
Mexican girl reporting. My dad was telling me this song was a huge hit in Mexico 😊
Segura?
Legend has it she’s still looking mighty fine in that black dress.
I am 82 years old and love that song..l just wish l could dance to it like l did years ago...lol
Song makes me smile, from a massively depressed war veteran with PTSD, that's hard.
Fancy seeing you here
i know the feeling. i suffer from the same thing, also degen disk and degen bones in lower back.
Thank you for your service.
Wish you the best to overcome a hard reality.
I am so sorry you will be my prayers tonight..........
Classic Rock never gets old no matter what generation you are from
That opening riff is magic
