This car has been such a wonderful and surprising experience to drive in. Amazing premium features for a non premium price. The KAI EV6 will sell like crazy in my opinion. If you guys had to, which EV would you buy? The KIA EV6, Hyundai Ioniq(revieww soon), Ford MME or Polestar 2?
In answer to your question, I would only consider the GT line. At that price, Tesla MY is almost a no-brainer. Much more room, power and a demonstrated history of truly useful and plentiful true OTA upgrades and much better software. “Almost” since the EV6 does have some desirable features that are not available or cost $$$ extra on MY.
You can't be serious. Alexa just advised me that 60,000 euros is approximately $ 68,000 US dollars. When cars start to become the prices of homes or even 30% the price of a home then it ain't worth it. What I save by not buying gas I lose in the purchase of this overpriced car. I like it but I don't like the price. I can't wait until the Chinese bring their inexpensive evs to the US.
@@bozzo651 yea but that's the price over here in Europe. In the US cars are way cheaper than here so id guess the ev6 will be about 45k dollars there. ;)
Thank you very much. And yea, this car has been such a wonderful experience and a premonition that EV's dont need to be super expensive. It's still expensive but for that money you get so much more tham equally priced or even more expensive cars
Great review and suck a cool car! I really love the futuristic design! How’s the range and avg consimption avtually? I saw between 20 and 22 on the screens, do you think it can be lower?
Thanks a lot mate ♥️ the range is actually so good, goes down slower than most EV's iv noticed. And yes the avg consumption can be quite lower cos i was mostly going full throttle in that car. U know, for "review's sake" 😂
Thank you so much for a wonderful and nice review, I really liked it. I am waiting for my Gt Line AWD, but wont arrive untill next year ( Norway). Its the best ev car i have driven, and Ive tested all the relevant, Teslas, Polestar 2, Audi, Skoda, Nio, Xpeng BYD, Ioniq5..of all those, I really liked the EV6 best, its an amazing car and value for money with all the stuff you get. Look at Audii, pay for everything and ads up 25-35 000 £ more, and still I feel EV6 have more equipment and tech. EV6 should be on everyones short list, it really has all you need, plus its very comfortable, quick, sexy looking and lots of space for most people..Brilliant:)
First of all, thank you for the kind and positive words, it really means a lot to me :) secondly congratulations on your new purchase, im sure you will enjoy that car to the fullest together with all its premium features. you've made a very good choice. the car has even more features than i mentioned in the review so you'll be having a good time exploring them all :) i wish you a lot of safe and fun miles!
Yes it does, automatically opens and also closes when you leave. You can also turn that feature off in the infotainment screen if you dont want to use it
It charges at supersonic speeds the only problem.... supersonic chargers are like HENS TEETH in Scotland where I stay there are only 3 places that have them, 12 in total for 5 Million people and none between 350KW and 50KW. Don't get me wrong the EV6 is a great car but charging networks need to change dramatically before 350KW charging is a consideration in the purchasing of an EV. I currently have a BMW i3 and will be changing in about 3 weeks to a Volvo C40, it only does 150KW max but as 99.999999999% of chargers are only 50KW can't say I'm that bothered by charging speeds
Wow only 3 superchargers there? Here in Belgium there are a lot, every town has at least a couple of those. But i do completely follow you when u say that the entire charging infrastructure needs to get expanded a LOT.
Great review, but you forgot one thing: this car apparently has the worst efficiency of all ev's in her class. So, it can be as great as she can be but when it has a terrible efficiency or in other words it has very minimal range then how great is she really? Volvo's ev's have the same problem: they are wonderful cars, except for the range (which is an essential criterium for an ev). I would have loved to own a non-tesla ev, but because of its leading efficiency and its charging network I chose Tesla.
Thank you, and thanks for watching. And really that low? According to the calculations i made based on my usage the model i had could do around 365km on one charge. And yes, i fully agree with you that Tesla range is way better but in Belgium Tesla is also more expensive than the EV6 so people with a lower bidhet might just pick this car. Also the fast charging on this car would kinda make up for the lower range in my opinion. Which Tesla do you have, model 3?
@@thirst4petrol537 You're welcome and thank you for your lovely reviews. I saw several reviews on this car's mileage, for example that of the channel Carwow, where they drive this car and other ev's till 0 range and the very first car out was this one. They don't achieve the mileage they advert, especially the brands that are making ev's for the first time, as they lack the expertise and experience to make a decently efficient battery. Tesla being a software company by origin did have that expertise and also have the experience since they are at it for a while now. I have the model 3 and she doesn't get to her adverted range either, but even then she gets much further than her competitors in her class (and many above). Having the supercharger network and the right to use every non-tesla (fast)charger still makes Tesla the premier choice for an ev I think. I do agree with you that tesla's are usually more expensive, but that is changing since many brands are charging the same or even more (a decently loaded Skoda Enjaq will cost 60k euros here in Holland while you can get a decently loaded model 3 for 52K euros). Regarding the fast charging: if it actually can hold that fast rate for the entire charging session or at least 80% of the session then yes I would take it, but if it only charges that fast in the first few minutes (as most EV's do, even Tesla's) then it doesn't really make a difference in my opinion.
@@thisnamealsotaken yes Tesla's do have the most reliable battery range kn the EV world, especially compared to beginners in this market. In Belgium the starting price for a base model 3 is 51k euros so it will easily go over 60k euros and that's what scares most people. I was in a model 3 performance with 698hp last week and i have to tell you, that was the most fun electric ride iv ever experienced together with the BMW i4m50 which i also reviewed 😁
@@thirst4petrol537 I can imagine the performance model 3 being a fun drive! I have the base model 3 so I cant speak on that, I thought 52k was more than enough to spend on a car haha. I am looking forward to the regular i4 model (not the M-version) and in the future to the bmw 3 series EV (if they can get a decent range on that one it might be the real tesla killer).
@@thisnamealsotaken oh yes, BMW are actually doing the best job in making ev's in the premium segment. In my opinion better than Audi and Mercedes. But let's see what happens in the following years as more and more brands will enter the market and some fierce competition willl begin.
Now this car is selling for 68,000 in the USA. The best features are only in the GT. Unless you can afford this price, many of the cool features will not be available.
Same in the UK equates to around $98K Australian. Mind you I'm getting delivery of a Volvo C40 next month and the difference UK to some European countries is equiv to $18K !!
No, this is not the fastest charging EV. Minutes to 80% mean nothing as this is 200 miles at most in this car in 18 minutes. Both the Lucid Air and the Porsche Taycan can add 200 miles of range in half the time. Note this is a function of the KWh that can be added and also the driving efficiency of the vehicle. I don’t mean to take anything away from Kia (I drive one), but not only is this car over-hyped, but it also doesn’t live up to its specs (it has a lot of safety features, but these features score poorly in the NCAP tests. I can verify the LKAS doesn’t work well at all).
Hey, thanks for your feedback. I know the Porsche Taycan can charge 200miles in that time but it also costs more than double the price of this vehicle. In the video i do clearly say that im comparing the Kia EV6 against it's rivals, which means EV's in the same price category. Thia car will never compete with the likes of a Taycan as that is a whole different crowd looking for that type of vehicle. And about the Lucid Air, i genuinly did not know so thanks for the info. I'm getting that one to review aswell for a few days so ill be able to go in depth.
