Rest in heaven Fred White. EWF forever and a day.
Only the true fans know about this Grammy winning masterpiece.
Runnin" was their most underrated Afro-Cuban hit Maurice White is a great visionary bro.!
Have you heard the remixes 👍💯🔥
The song won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Track of 1977.
All n All is my favorite album by EWF.
Afro-Brazilian...sorry to be that guy....
The best band of all time...Hands down!!!
THAT PART!!!!
Sigues vigente Maurice..... tus ganas de hacer bailar y degustar el mejor ritmo.... Y su banda...... E. W. F.
Dam straight!
They were the GOATS before anyone was ever called GOATS.
I agree !!!!
Nothing beats the energy of a EW&F concert [1975-1980]
Add 1981 in there, too.
I was born in 1979 and this is my favorite band of all times, really blessed to growed up with this music🙏🏻
@@RoninAliNowOn I agree Ronin, I was blessed to see them here in detroit In 1981 for the Raise tour which was my first concert at 10 years old thanks to aunt taking me, I never forgot that show even to this day at age 51 it is still one of the best shows I have ever seen. RIP Fred White.
@@RoninAliNowOn The Raise tour was okay. If it weren't for the HBO version of it I doubt if I would have remembered much of it. The I AM tour was out of this world.
@@PhilMoskowitz Even with LET'S GROOVE?
I saw this live back in the day.The percussion breakdown was epic.Everyone had a fantastic solo👈🏽
What I wouldn't give to have been able to see these cats play live in their prime! This is radioactive it's so hot!
I saw them for the first time in 1976 . I saw them 3 more times with Maurice touring. . Their glory years were 1975 to 1982 . Without Maurice I saw them 3 more times . They were much better with him than without him . Phenomenal in concert .
The greatest band that ever existed!!
Yes they are
My heart goes wild, this is the best band ever. EVERRR!!!
The late great Louis Satterfield was a beast!! Trombone, percussion & bass man he was great.
Absolute!! No questions or doubts.. "Best Band On The Planet!!"
I love how Maurice gives them all their time to jam out! This is amazing! I wish I could have seen them perform this live. This is the next best thing though. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Dutch tribute band The Chicago Funk took part in a likeminded TV-contest earlier this year. They won a co-headlining slot with an Elvis-interpretator during three sold out shows before starting their own tour. Don't know if this is part of their repertoire.
@@xerman100 interesting. I’ll look that up! Thank you!
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS VERDINE WHITE OWNS THE BASS GUITAR THRONE !!! HE PLAYS THE HELL OUT OF THAT THING- HES MAKING THE GUITAR CRY !!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😎

There will never be another E,W&F or any other band that can come close, I am grateful for the opportunity to meet them after a show in San Antonio.
God BLESS you all for posting such a MASTERPIECE!! Priceless footage and priceless soundtrack, especially with Frederick Eugene "Freddie" White and his gorgeous drum solo near the end of the track. May he rest in POWER! ✊🏾❤!! And my condolences to his brother Verdine White and family who have just lost yet another brother...too soon. 🙏🏾❤

Ese dominio de manos en la batería te dan los méritos para merecer el 1er. Lugar... Grande Maurice White. Leyenda....
Just came back to this for another smile inducing, and foot tapping experience! Man, E, W & F were such an incredible group of men!
Another amazing thing about seeing them live (I saw them in 79 and 81),they would take songs and extend them out like this. I saw them do Reasons, which included a percussion break and a trombone solo by Lewis Satterfield, great musicians
The Baddest Group in the world.... No band has raised up since EW&F; to take us to higher levels.
The G.O.A.T. band.
And the concert was on TV in Germany on the WDR Channel, a public TV in west Germany, can you imagine the shock 🫨😱🔥
Never seen this clip before, thanks for posting it. EWF fan 4 life
Oh mio Dio! Assurdi, allucinanti! Energia allo stato puro.

Solid-no doubt the timing is on time.from E.W.F back in the days.

Many people fans included commit the graverror of thinking that this band was just talented 😍 ohh no these we're very, very, very incomprehensibly and extraordinarily"Gifted beyond anything one could ever hope to fathom let alone"imagine" and they all possessed an uncanny" ESP"@mongsthemselvesimililar to the R&B/SouL Group "$Witch"but Maurice White sethe standard being a Consummate and accomplished Metaphysician & Egyptologist of which he no-doubt incorporated into the band's and group's philosophy little did we know they we're practicing an ancient vibratory magic and science of sound harmonics that's long lost in today's socalled Music!👁️🤟🤲☪️
Louis Satterfield playing bass live for this song. I knew before the camera showed, "there's no way that's Verdine playing." It wasn't. It make me wonder if Louis didn't play all the studio stuff? He sure sounds like "the guy on the records".
You know.. that's been widely rumored. I tend to believe it. Verdine said that Satterfield taught him about the funky stuff. I truly believe that Verdine was a big part of the show and pantomiming a lot of bass "playing." I've never heard a solo by him that ever wowed me. Ever. But it takes nothing away from the legend.
So, are you implying that Louis played everything, and Verdine's only talent was showmanship? Don't gaslight us, bro. If that's the case, who's playing bass when Louis is on the trombone?
@@mykalimba Which part of "Studio" made you think I was talking about the live show? Gas light? I suppose that you believe all the E, W & F members were singing all the background vocals on the records as well? Nope, just Maurice and Phillip. Maurice didn't care who played the parts, it was all about the final result. For anyone to question "who played what" on an E, W & F record, is a perfectly legitimate wonder.
@@kevinpaige5746 This bizarre scenario -- where Louis plays the bass in studio for all of the recordings and Verdine is relegated to perform only at live shows -- is gaslighting. The whole "It make (sic) me wonder..." lead in is the same nonsense that Fox News uses to gaslight its viewers, and your assertion is completely unfounded.
It is well documented that when Verdine joined the group -- not long after leaving the Chicago Conservatory of Music, where he learned classical bass -- Louis took him under his wing and taught him how to play electric bass. So it stands to reason that Verdine's sound would be similar to Louis', and vice versa. It should be no surprise that a student's technique is very much like that of the instructor.
"I suppose that you believe all ... were singing..." From gaslighting to straw man? Nope, I don't believe that for an instant, as much as that might disappoint you. I understand that 99% of all vocals were Maurice, Philip (only one "L", not two), and -- for completeness -- Jessica Cleaves, Sherry Scott, Don Whitehead & Wade Flemons. Other band members are often credited as backing vocalists, and a number of other artists (e.g. various members of The Emotions) have performed in lead and backing vocalist roles.
@@mykalimba Wow, how much dysfunction is in a person who has to point out a typo in an attempt to make themselves look like the superior fan? Really, what's your deal?
Ba ba ba ba ya🎵
RIP Fred white
Fred!!!!!!Where's your shirt man!!!
I don't remember Fred White ever wearing shirts during their live shows.
