Putting the glass panes stopped the witches from spawning for me so after fiddling with it for a couple nights and doing some research I learned the spawn location is one block in front of the crafting table and I confirmed this by making a dark box and slowly constricting it while making sure it was spawning witches until it was the 2x2 around the spawn block. low key took like an hour and a half to figure out but if you’re having the same problem there you go.. rates are good aswell higher then I expected
I like it. The complaints about not getting fire res pots are not considering that it is easier to get those from a Piglin barter farm anyways and the ease of collection with mud blocks. The only real upgrades this needs are (a) a sorter for the drops and (b) other automatic farms around your AFK spot to make your time more efficient (smelters, bamboo, melon/pump, cactus, etc). Since this is a farm with an anchor (like spawner farms, end portal farms, etc), you should always take the time to set up some infrastructure to do some other work and increase your efficiency. Since you are using static tridents, you can also choose to take out the "low corner" of your farm and let the items and XP flow out into a bubble column. Then you can see your farm working from your elevated platform and reap the XP (though it won't be much). It can be nice, however, if you have a material goal to be able to check and see how far you are without having to go down to the bottom to check. This certainly gets top billings for being easy.
Yes, making entire farming districts is the most underemphasized tactic in bedrock. I've seen WAY more comments about "it is not recommended to build anything else by this farm" by hateful people keeping us oppressed
Thanks for the video, Prowl; great tutorial as always. Like I mentioned in a reply, if I find another hut in my world, I’m definitely going to put this to work. My current farm uses Silentwisperer’s old design with magma blocks to get the fire resistance potions, but I couldn’t get the water to work right to get the water breathing potions to drop. Hope the vacation is going well (or went well depending on when you may read this).
Cool. If you replace the mud with magma blocks then you may get fire resistance potions as well. The hoppers underneath will need to be replaced with a hopper minecart to pull the items through the magma though. My witch farm on an older world also dropped potions of swiftness too, though that's maybe not as useful. Still nice though EDIT: I know the witches don't spawn on magma blocks and you have to use a solid block with a glass block 1 block over it - I accept that complicates things slightly and this is meant to be a simple farm. Fair
Could maybe use a sticky piston(s) with a magma block(s) to get fire resist and also a dispenser to pull the water to NOT get water breathing for finer control of drops, I also wonder if I couldn't just put the stereo typical 4 piston rotating Trident killer over the spawn block(s) (i think they changed mobs to spawn on centers of blocks for 1.21)
I would replace the trident killer with a soulsand elivator into a drop chute set to kill, because I don't want the nonstackables, and I use another farm for XP. I also like the idea of keeping the orrigional structure mostly in-tact.
Nice design! since I play with friends, I built another model that makes it easier to re-throw the tridents. If I had a solo world, i would definitely build this one tho, since the other one was a big pain 😂
I wonder, if the mud block is one of the only spawnable blocks that isn't a full block since they updated it. I was curious when you started using them if they were spawnable since they aren't a full block anymore, and allow items to be pulled through them with a hopper.
Just built a much more elaborate witch farm send them up in a bubble elevator because I don’t afk farms anywhoozle added magma blocks to the last drop tube and trident killer and they drop a fire resistance every once in a while
I’ve stuck with creeper farms for a while now but I recently switched to a ghast farm for gunpowder and it works like a charm. Got wayyyy better rates than every creeper farm I’ve put in my worlds. I definitely suggest makin one!
So that he could use regular hoppers rather than hopper minecarts to pull the items out. Also, if you are going to use the magma blocks they cannot be the spawn block (as only one of those four is the spawn block). If you understand orientation, that is easy enough, but the second you start talking about "The Northwest Corner" you lose some people and this is meant to be an EASY farm.
@oaksparoakspar3144 Because we teach things the wrong way, it should just be known that events happen in the 0,0,0 coordinate of a block, so anytime you make a 2x2 the block of interest is the one for which the middle of the cross is at the 0,0,0 coordinate of that block. Works for everything instead of all this west, east, sunflowers, maps, etc. Bunch of garbage TBH
Would be great an update to this farm for 1.21 since mobs spawn in the center of blocks now. Although, I would just need to leave the whole platform as base and still leave the water source opposite the chests, wouldnt I?
Definitely doing something wrong. Make sure your using the right version in the area because my world was originally made in 1.16. When I go back to 1.20 the whole seed is different to what it used to be on 1.16
I've been having issues with it too. Witch huts, jungle temples and desert temples use the same algorithm, but for some reason out of the three witch huts it promised one was 150 blocks east and one was just absent. Haven't used Chunkbase in a while, I just make a creative copy of my world and find whatever I want using /locate
I’m pretty sure chunkbase just shows a possible spawning area for that structure. I was looking for a skelly spawner for a while before I was finally able to find one that was actually there. Most of the time it works fine for me tho
Because you're so high up it's like the only place ANYTHING can spawn and the game tries at regular intervals to have at least some things spawning, so it can be pretty quick
If I find another witch hut I’ll do this one. I did Silentwisperer’s farm using the magma blocks and I get fire resist but couldn’t get the water to work correctly for the water breathing potions.
@@thedawg2023 Double check to make sure the piston is 100% covered by blocks. I went back through and noticed light somehow makes it through the base of the pistons, stopping the witches from spawning
We not concerned about the experience? We won't be collecting it, and there's no disposal system, and a long afk session could create a significant amount of xp balls...
I've used this style of witch farm in the past, and even over an hour or 2, you don't build up enough experience to cause a problem. If you want the xp, you could add in a bubble column for the xp to shoot up to you. Hope this helps 😊

Probably not too much of a problem with what bartering farms produce but I appreciate the thought

You can filter out nonstackables by dispensing them into a lava pit
TKs give you looting. Rates will be much lower without the TK.
It's also much slower and less efficient
Hey! The timing of this video is perfect for me! Im about to look for Witch Farm tutorial for my Single Player world Thank you Prowl!
So simple, so good!
This is absolutely brilliant! Small, cheap and easy. Love it!
Very good tutorial.
Only critic point: scaffolding and water bucket are missing on the item list. -_-
Water bucket isn’t on the list, but scaffolding is.

Awesome video I cannot wait to build it
Nice video, as always, but i am wondering, isn't this @EndyCrafts farm?
if you leave the area alltogether does the trident despawn or not I just wanna know before i build it. Thanks
No
Really nice and simple farm. Thanks 👍👍👍👍
Just built a much more elaborate witch farm send them up in a bubble elevator because I don’t afk farms anywhoozle added magma blocks to the last drop tube and trident killer and they drop a fire resistance every once in a while
THE BEST CREEPER FARM!
I’ve stuck with creeper farms for a while now but I recently switched to a ghast farm for gunpowder and it works like a charm. Got wayyyy better rates than every creeper farm I’ve put in my worlds. I definitely suggest makin one!
Why mud blocks? When I do the farm, I use lava blocks and the witches drop potions of fire resistance, which I find much more useful.
@@oaksparoakspar3144 thank you for the clarification. I did forget that part for sure!!!

In the item list it says you need 4 red stone you need five. This cause me to spend like 10 extra mins just getting that one last piece of redstone
Wonderful tutorial tho
Sun 4 on bedrock is 64x64 blocks.
Simple early game farm, thanks Prowl!
It's only "early game," if you happen to have a witch hut within a reasonable distance from spawn.
Chunkbase is not 100 percent accurate I kept finding a bastion for 10 times with chunkbase so far no bastion
Then you did something wrong. For more than 5 years its 100% accurate for me in so many different servers.
Definitely doing something wrong. Make sure your using the right version in the area because my world was originally made in 1.16. When I go back to 1.20 the whole seed is different to what it used to be on 1.16

Haven't used Chunkbase in a while, I just make a creative copy of my world and find whatever I want using /locate
I also have lots of issues with structures even /locate structure doesn't work 100% of the time which might be what it is built from
I’m pretty sure chunkbase just shows a possible spawning area for that structure. I was looking for a skelly spawner for a while before I was finally able to find one that was actually there. Most of the time it works fine for me tho
will this work if it's surrounded by water
Thanks!!!
Did everything correct as same as the tutorial but tridents wont kill the witches for some reason.Any help? Please help
Is the spawn timing of witches that fast like in the video? Or was it fast forward? It spawns like every 3 sec
Because you're so high up it's like the only place ANYTHING can spawn and the game tries at regular intervals to have at least some things spawning, so it can be pretty quick
Nice design btw will this farm work for 1.16
Pretty creative !!
Will having multiple witch huts next to each other ruin the rates of each other
Could I build like a giant witch head around this farm ?? As long as inside it’s spawn proof
I appear to get potion of swiftness more than I do water breathing? Did I do something wrong? Healing is what i see the most of.
I don’t build a lot of farms so apologies if this is a silly question but if you leave the area do you not have any issues with tridents despawning?
pretty sure witch spawning is the same for every witch hut
If you put some lava in there will they drop fire resistant potions?
You'd have to drop them 16 blocks from it otherwise the light will block spawns
If I find another witch hut I’ll do this one. I did Silentwisperer’s farm using the magma blocks and I get fire resist but couldn’t get the water to work correctly for the water breathing potions.
Could u use lava ane get fire resistance potions?
Is there a way to bubble collumn the xp?
Amazing 😉👍
spawning point is 68. afk platform at 162, and no witch are spawning. Any idea why, ( Im trying to see on which block they span, im not done yet)
also im on 6 chunks for sim
I built this farm block for block, and no mobs spawn in the nearby but the witches stopped spawning when i put the scaffolding + water.
Having the same problem
@@thedawg2023 Double check to make sure the piston is 100% covered by blocks. I went back through and noticed light somehow makes it through the base of the pistons, stopping the witches from spawning
You said to build the afk platform 42 blocks up. 42 blocks up from where? the spawning spot?
Yes, exactly
Me likey 😊 nice prowl 😊
If I play in 4 simulator, how many blocks i need ?
+42 from the floor of the hut
Is this for simulation distance 4 or 6 ?
Nevermind @prowl I just got to that part of the video . Thank you for this farm!
We not concerned about the experience? We won't be collecting it, and there's no disposal system, and a long afk session could create a significant amount of xp balls...

From what I've seen witch farms (on bedrock) are too slow to produce enough experience to lag you out before it despawns
Witch farms don't generate a lot of XP, and XP orbs despawn after 5 mins
👍
Great video. I think that is the simplest witch farm I have ever seen.
We want creeper farm pls....
