It's extremely unfair that people are given only 2 min to transfer their answers in computer-based, whereas people in paper-based are given 10 min at the end. That could make a hell lot of difference in IELTS score. Students could literally recall and guess the right answers during that 10 min and bump up their score by 4-5 marks. All the videos on YT says Computer based is better. For me it's best for writing but I'm finding it so difficult for listening.
Marking keywords faster is tricky. My typing is fast but I can't type fast while listening and I lose focus of the next question.
Also I have problem with too many people in one room. During my mock test I totally lost my focus at the end of the listening part and full reading part because the staff in the exam center were making continues noises. I get easily distracted by little sounds.
I've already booked paper based exam for 2nd December. I can't decide if I should change date and the medium of the exam.
Please advise!
Hi there! The best choice largely depends on your personal comfort with the test medium and your test-taking strategies. For more information, please refer to our website's article titled 'Pros and Cons of Choosing the Computer-Based IELTS Exam'. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
@@Ieltsadvantage Thank you. I've already sent you an email.
Hii can we write all answers in reading and listening in capital letters. For example (WATER) instead of (water) . Is it correct?
yes u can
i wrote all answers in capital letters in listening and reading section and got 8.0 for both
Hi there, it doesn't matter whether you use capital letters or not in listening and reading. You will not be marked on capitalisation for these parts of the exam. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
@@Ieltsadvantage okk and during reading exam is it essential to write answers firstly on question booklet and then on answersheet ? Cant we write answers directly on the answersheet to save time?
@@LinhKVu thanks for ur comment

It's extremely unfair that people are given only 2 min to transfer their answers in computer-based, whereas people in paper-based are given 10 min at the end. That could make a hell lot of difference in IELTS score. Students could literally recall and guess the right answers during that 10 min and bump up their score by 4-5 marks.
No wonder, almost all the people in my country still opting for paper-based rather than computer-based, because computer-based is so shitty. That's why, you can book a computer-based test 2 days in advance but for paper-based, the waiting line is at least 2 months!
Hi Chris, I got my results today and got an overall 7.5 band. It wasn't what I was expecting but would you say it's a good score for a first timer who didn't get professional help from IELTS teachers?

@@Ieltsadvantage no, it does not mention facts about computer based listening test. My exam is in 3 days and I have been doing the practice for it online, but not quite sure of whether I can move to next section way before its audio plays without submitting the former section. I am afraid that doing this might result in either skipping the audio of the previous section or locking that part of test.
