I got: 8.0 L | 8.5 R | 7 W | 7 S in Academic, thanks to IELTS Advantage. That was my second time taking the exam and on the first try I scored 7.0 L; 7.5 R; 5.5 W; 6.5 S (at that time I was preparing with another youtube channel and I thought that I was well-prepared)... After that, I found IELTS Advantage and watched all their youtube videos, also read all the articles on the website. The Writing part was the hardest for me because I had always over-complicated things when writing. After listening to Chris' advices and applying them in practice I managed to succeed! @@SandeepKaur-su4it The only thing I did was to read articles on the websites of BBC news, the Guardian, the Borgen magazine and National Geographic. Every day for an hour and a half or so. That way I was training my eyes and brain to see and comprehend written English. And also whenever I stumbled upon an unknown word, I checked it's meaning and noted it down in my dictionary. I forgot to mention, I was preparing for 3 weeks between my first try and the second. Good luck!
It's so hard to find genuinely useful content when it comes to Ielts training and tips. It is definitely a good video. Last year , I gave my ielts general exam last year and got a band 8 with only 7 in writing ( that was the module in which I got least score ). I guess it’s probably coz I was too conscious about how I could fit in certain high level vocabulary instead of focusing on what really matters. So, my 1 cent of advice to you is to keep it simple and basic when it comes to vocabulary. For grammar, use simple , complex , compound, conditional sentences. Try to use passive voice too. For task response, ensure that you briefly address all the questions asked in the introduction itself and build it up from there. Best wishes to you dear.
Writing task 2 can be easier than any of the other modules in IELTS if one does not panic and has clear ideas floating in the brain with a positive mindset.

I was always searching for fancy word and wrote sentence in a complex way as well as i wrote unnecessary background statement for improving my band score but i Didn't get higher band score like 7. I got an overall 7.5 9 in listening 7 reading the paper personally i would say it was more complex than the usual practice tests. 7 in writing which was completely done from IELTS advantage in around 10 days and a 7.5 in speaking also done from here. I am really thank full for the guidance and wish the best of luck for all the other candidates on their test. First attempt as well.
I passed the multilevel test with a higher writing score, I didnʼt expected that I had written the essay with simple words and structures, but it was accurate. Now I know why my essay got a higher band. Thank you very much ❤❤❤

I had used simple words and I scored 6.5 in writting. I think if I would have used 5 to 10 c1 and c2 word's then definitely I would have touched 7 band in writting. That's the mistake i had done. My student sent me a funny skit of an insta tutor who put, like, 20 idioms in her response to a basic question, thus poking fun at how you're expected to show advanced knowledge of idiomatic vocabulary in order to score highly on the speaking test. And there was a comment from a girl who wrote "That's pretty much how I got my 9". What's your opinion of that? As a tutor, I try to teach idioms by purpose (e.g. to highlight contrast) that could be applied to a vast range of situations. But that sort of doesn't align with what you preach, that it's best to keep it simple. It would also be great if you had actually showed a high-scoring essay at the end of this video to illustrate your points.
