    I have listened to this hundreds of times and each time I am transported back to Parris Island, Plt 233 in the summer of 1974. This gives me goosebumps.

    Damn, you are the Drill Instructor for doing this, I fell asleep to this, and then the next day walked through school singing this. People looked like I was crazy, but Veterans sang with me as we as a group marched through the school to class.I thank you for the respect you have giving to all of us who have and will service.

      +Devil Rojas As a Drill Instructor back in the very early 70's, it was amazing to train boots and to see what we had accomplished with then maggots and then graduated Marines. I can tell that olive drab runs through your blood. Semper Fi!!

    Being a Drill Instructor was the best time of my whole life. Wish it never ended. Now I’ve got a future step son that wants to be just like me even down to earning the title MARINE and eventually being a hat as well. Couldn’t be prouder of not only him but my service. SEMPER FI

    Drilling on the parade deck and listening to the Senior DI sing was honestly the most fun part of bootcamp. Seeing it all come together when plt 1068 won final drill was the most memorable part of my MCRD experience besides finally getting the ega.

      IF you had a senoir with soul....lets be honest some DI's were just kill hats... and just wanted to kick your ass haha...(which is also apart of boot camp sure) but having a DI that had some soul in his voice...ESPECIALLY a senior...that was really special to witness

    As a result of tuning in to Scribe Radio. This Sand Flea will NEVER forget the best days of my life.     I was a D.I. at MCRD San Diego and cadences like these were heard alot. Mine was not quite this good but I made the privates lean back and give me a full 30. I had a decent cadence. Miss the Corps.

    Just graduated from MCRD San Diego. Senior DI Sgt. karnes. Not too many drill instructors can sing cadence like this. So when you here it around base it's awesome!!

    @4:50-5:30 gave me chills...
    im in the army now, but from 2004-2008 i was in the marines. I still listen to, and call Marine Corps cadences while marching in the army. They'll never understand the pride of calling cadence like this. Great cadence MSgt McCants.

    Anthony, You have a good ear for a great cadence. The Corps is the only service that calls cadence this way. As a former D.I., way back when ( early 70's ) we found that if you could call a good cadence it would bring the privates to a high peak. Nothing could stop them. Semper Fi to you Anthony and that's an OOORah!!

    I have so much respect for our men and woman in uniform. One of my regrets was not getting into the marines. I had the honor of working with a marine who served in Iraq. He showed me this and I've been listening ever sense. Thank you to all of you who put your life on the line for us!!! There is an immense amount of sacrifices that you guys make and you do not get enough thanks!

    Staff Sergeant Vincent Soto, Kilo Company-PLT 3025. (Sept. ‘96 - Dec. ‘96), was the GOAT regarding cadence and can NEVER be duplicated or repeated. I will remember sunset marches at MCRD San Diego until the day I’m gone.

    I come from a family where we are all in Army. I tried to go as the first enlisted female, but I was denied due to my congenital condition. But even growing up around soldiers, this runs a chill down my spine. Respect to all service members. Especially this guy.

      I feel your pain, quite literally. I was Army and the made me run even though my profile wasn't over. APFT came around, I collapse on the damn ground. Gave me a honorable and threw my ass out. I'm going back, especially if they get the Pink and Greens again.

      Yes you are right and the same in Boys in Company C. As Lee Ermey was the cadence caller. Hard to duplicate as each DI has their own style. You have to develop your own style, what comes natural. By osmosis, listening and doing for hundreds of hours while on the drill field. Shafi is just plain good and is a singer also and understands voice.

      +Austin Mullins Only if your vocal chords hold up. If your are thinking about hitting the drill field, be prepared to lose your voice at one point or another. Warm water and honey helped me through, but it was hell on me and I made the privates pay for my inability to do my duty (yelling). Good luck and Semper Fi!!

    I recently went to a 10 day encampment to the Marine Corps base at Camp Pendleton " 31 area "(WFTB) 2 weeks ago I don't if you know the name of the program it's Devil Pups. But yeah anyway like you said we'll be disappointed wow you were right. There were DI's there drilling their Rct's & their drill cadence were nothing compare to you Scribe. Honestly I say your the best Drill Instructor ever your cadence are amazing. Also on youtube no DI can be compared to you.
    I wish i can be just like you.

      09jitters my old First Sergeant started to crack down on that. The CSM used to call her Hurricane because her first name was Katrina. She would destroy everybody's room looking for contraband and if she didn't find anything she'll just say my bad and walk out. Good old 1SG Richardson, she's a Sergeant Major now.

    Oh man, this brings back memories. Hotel Hell Plt. 2099, Dec. 2000. Our heavy Drill Instructor Sgt. Sanchez was probably the best cadence caller ever, he’d make you feel 10 feet tall to like total shit just by the way he called them. If we were doing awesome that day, he’d call badass cadence but if we were fucktards he call some basic crap.
