    WOW! This was so good! I’m a newbie and just killed my first onsie. I didn’t know there was an iron on tear away so I’ll be grabbing some tomorrow and the masking tape trick was amazing too! I struggle so much trying to pin those onsies back. Best tutorial on making a onsie I’ve seen yet. Thank you so much! 💕

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад +4

      Hi Hannah! I think I would use the same as a shirt cause even though it is a thicker material, it is still a knit and fabric can shift and pucker easily. so one layer of iron on poly mesh, then I would float it onto some tear away since it’s probably harder to hoop

    So the fusible that you put on the back when all was done was not tender touch or something like that right karlie? It was the same polymesh that you started out with? Thank you for your wonderful videos.....I like how you explain things.....Why does it seem like my tender touch comes off when I iron it on the back? I just use a simple iron. I know that a lot of people on these channels have a heat press and I notice you don't....Is your iron a special iron that gets really hot? I know this video is a tad bit older.....but what has changed for you when you embroider your onsies? Thank you Karlie

      The fusible at the end helps to cover up the rough threads from rubbing on the baby's skin. It creates a soft barrier.

    Question?? I noticed you never changed the bobbin. And no where in the Operation Manual it talks about bobbin color. Can you keep the same color bobbin (for example white tread) for the entire design? What are the best practices? I'm new at this. I just bought a PE800. Thanks.

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад +1

      Hi Cuong! Yes the cool thing about embroidery is that you should only see the top colored embroidery thread and never see the bobbin thread. Embroidery thread is 40wt and I always use white 90 wt bobbin thread. Here is a link to a list I wrote of all the supplies I use. There you can find the embroidery thread and pre-wound bobbins I use. www.karliebelle.com/beginner-machine-embroidery-supplies/

    I am just learning my machine. Is there a bobbin inserted, or do we skip that step, also if so, when changing thread, how do we change out the bobbin

      Can you use a 5 x 7 hoop on a onesie ?

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад

      Yes there is always a bobbin in the machine. If you watch my PE800 unboxing video you can see how I wind and thread a bobbin. The same steps are used when the bobbin runs out and you replace it. I recommend using pre-wound bobbins too, they are so much easier to use!

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад

      Yes you can. I use a 5x7 hoop for bigger onesies like 9mths and up.

    Do I need to pre-wash my T-shirt’s I’m going machine embroider to sell? I’m not sure if the design is going to “shrink”.

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад

      Hi Rich, no I don't pre-wash anything I sell. I don't pre-wash anything I make for my girls either so I can see for myself that the shirts or applique material doesn't shrink after I wash them. The only item I recommend you pre-wash is a waffle weave dish towel as those do shrink a lot after washing.

    I live out
    Way out.
    We don't have internet.
    Will this machine work with out internet
    Does it have a USB port

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад

      Yes the machine and Embrilliance Essentials Software both work without internet connection. The only time you will need it is when you want to purchase embroidery designs from online stores. But once you have them downloaded, you won't need an internet connection anymore to do a project.

    So wait - you press your stabilizer on AFTER marking the item? I was always told NOT to use heat or iron AFTER marking. Do you ever have any issues with doing it that way? Do you have a hard time removing the ink, or does it tend to re-appear? I'm curious, and have never used the Tide Pen, so let me know! Also, that design looks familiar, can you please tell me where you got it from? People who are not from here probably wouldn't have a clue that it symbolizes Cafe du Monde!

      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад +1

      Hi Karen, no I never have any trouble with the marks not coming off or re-appearing. I use a water and air disappearing ink marker, but I have heard that other markers can give you trouble after using heat. The marks come off with water or after washing but the Tide Pen really works great for getting them off without having to soak the fabric or wash it. This is great when the item is a gift or something that I am selling. The design is from Joy Kate Designs- www.joykatedesigns.com/p/beignets-coffee-light-fill-vintage-stitch-embroidery-design/ref/12 She has a bunch of really cute Louisiana themed designs :)

      @@KarlieBelle do you always use the purple side or do you sometimes also use the blue side? I know there's a difference between them...

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  4 года назад

      I typically use the purple side till it runs out then the blue. Purple is air and water and blue is just water disappearing ink

      I believe there is an option in the setting menu of your machine to increase or decrease the size of the thumbnail.

    • @KarlieBelle

      different brands of thread can be sensitive to heat directly from an iron. Also if there is water soluble topper on my shirt, I don't want that to get stuck to my iron.

    • @KarlieBelle
      @KarlieBelle  3 года назад

      It is for a family that is from New Orleans but recently moved away. Cafe du Monde is very popular here, every for children's clothing :)
