Thank you so much for this video. I'm a beginner and got frustrated with my first onesie project. With this video showing me how to now process it I will definitely go back and try again. Thanks!!!
WOW! This was so good! I’m a newbie and just killed my first onsie. I didn’t know there was an iron on tear away so I’ll be grabbing some tomorrow and the masking tape trick was amazing too! I struggle so much trying to pin those onsies back. Best tutorial on making a onsie I’ve seen yet. Thank you so much! 💕
Can’t wait to try this. I have been removing the side seam and the serging it back together after embroidering. This will save a lot of time. Can’t wait to try this way.
wow! this is amazing! I've stopped doing these because they've been a pain to hoop. AND I had no idea about iron on stabilizer (still a newbie). This video is a game changer! Other than going dizzy with the autofocus lol Love love love!
I am thinking of purchasing a embroidery machine and just happened to find you. I’m so glad that I did! This is just what I needed to make me decide to do it! Thanks Karlie
I just embroidered five newborn onsies. What a bear! I took a needle and thread and sewed around the hoop to try to keep the fabric out of the way. I am going to try your tape way I think it will be easier. Thank you so much for the video. It helped.
I'm so glad it helped. Also depending on what kind of machine you have, you should be able to do a basting stitch either around the design or around the hoop itself. Do you have Embrilliance Essentials? It is easy to do in the software.
Thank you very much. The high production values are appreciated. From the right music to perfect camera angles you have knocked it outa the park. Lots of great content. I did my first toddler tee yesterday and it was a mess. I needed this level of experience as an example. Thanks again.
Great vlog! Thanks for taking your time and explaining each step. I'm a Nawlins⚜ gal also and love the Cafe☕ Dumond design so thanks for sharing! Look forward to seeing more of your videos!
Hi I'm new embroidery, your video really helpful as I'm trying to embroidery baby onesies...I'm abit confused with backing material ...can I used fusible woven interlining as the backing material after done embroidery?
awesome video! I have a question, I have a romper that has a square in the top half of the outfit that I want to put a design in, do I measure with the hoops or do I have to measure with a ruler, Im not sure how to center in the square of the romper. thx
Hi Hannah! I think I would use the same as a shirt cause even though it is a thicker material, it is still a knit and fabric can shift and pucker easily. so one layer of iron on poly mesh, then I would float it onto some tear away since it’s probably harder to hoop
@@makua702 Thanks!! I use Embrilliance Essentials. Its a great program with all the basic functions you need to modify and personalize embroidery files you purchase online. www.embrilliance.com/jamaffiliates/karliebelle
Great tip with the tape, it’s made big difference. What size needle are you using on your machine? I am using a 90/14 ballpoint and I’m still getting huge holes in my Carter’s onesies when stitching out a sketch design.I have gone ahead and purchased your recommended stabilizers so hopefully that will help as well. Please let me know on the needle, Thank you!
The masking tape hint is great, Thks! I hope for your next videos you’re able to steady up the focus of your camera. Lots of good info but I was getting a bit seasick. 🤪
I loved your video thank you. I joined your fb group and already it has been a great help. Only thing is the camera was out of focus a lot so it was hard to see some things but, I got the jist of it. Thank you so much.
So the fusible that you put on the back when all was done was not tender touch or something like that right karlie? It was the same polymesh that you started out with? Thank you for your wonderful videos.....I like how you explain things.....Why does it seem like my tender touch comes off when I iron it on the back? I just use a simple iron. I know that a lot of people on these channels have a heat press and I notice you don't....Is your iron a special iron that gets really hot? I know this video is a tad bit older.....but what has changed for you when you embroider your onsies? Thank you Karlie
Once again great job, my PE 800 just arrived Tuesday. Now am waiting on thread and other supplies to arrive. I'm a little nervous about getting started. Is the essential program something else I should purchase?
I thought the first stabilizer went over the stitching after completed to keep threads from rubbing the baby’s skin? I am following along right now on my first onesie for my first grandchild. I had hardly any sewing knowledge at all, it is a lot for me. I’ve had bird nest after bird nest, broken needles, etc. I couldn’t even figure out if the thread went through the presser foot, on top etc. I need serious help and a magnifying glass STAT! Hi Cuong! Yes the cool thing about embroidery is that you should only see the top colored embroidery thread and never see the bobbin thread. Embroidery thread is 40wt and I always use white 90 wt bobbin thread. Here is a link to a list I wrote of all the supplies I use. There you can find the embroidery thread and pre-wound bobbins I use. www.karliebelle.com/beginner-machine-embroidery-supplies/

Hi Karen, no I never have any trouble with the marks not coming off or re-appearing. I use a water and air disappearing ink marker, but I have heard that other markers can give you trouble after using heat. The marks come off with water or after washing but the Tide Pen really works great for getting them off without having to soak the fabric or wash it. This is great when the item is a gift or something that I am selling. Hi!! I like so much this video!
Karlie, I sow you were using your iron, what’s the correct temperature?
Thank you for share yours skills
I keep my iron set right below the highest setting for cotton and wool. Thanks for watching!
Do you have to use the same bobbin thread color as what is being used at the top? Will it show through if you use different colors?
No. I always use a 90wt white bobbin thread for my projects. Only the top color thread should show on top of your projects

can i use aqua magic and mesh stabalizer on the back? I have sulky for top wash away

Thanks and I'm glad this video helped you!
I like your videos. My question is What design size do you recommend for embroidery on onesies?
Lydia Sierra thank you! I usually go with 4x4 designs on onesies sized newborn to 6 or 9 months. Then I use 5x7 sized designs on bigger onesies.
You had me and I understood everything except the fusible on the back after all was said and done? Does this stay? It seems like it would scratch and it was a big square....Can someone explain please???
The fusible at the end helps to cover up the rough threads from rubbing on the baby's skin. It creates a soft barrier.

Hi from New Orleans
Hi Louise, thanks for watching!
It’s hard for me to tell, about the size of the tear away layers. Do they fit ?inside the hoop or are they bigger to be secured by the hoop
It should be bigger so that it is secured by the hoop.

Thank you!
I am just learning my machine. Is there a bobbin inserted, or do we skip that step, also if so, when changing thread, how do we change out the bobbin
Can you use a 5 x 7 hoop on a onesie ?
Yes there is always a bobbin in the machine. If you watch my PE800 unboxing video you can see how I wind and thread a bobbin. The same steps are used when the bobbin runs out and you replace it. I recommend using pre-wound bobbins too, they are so much easier to use!
Yes you can. I use a 5x7 hoop for bigger onesies like 9mths and up.
Karlie do you wash you shirts and on
No I do not wash them before I stitch them.
Do I need to pre-wash my T-shirt’s I’m going machine embroider to sell? I’m not sure if the design is going to “shrink”.
Hi Rich, no I don't pre-wash anything I sell. I don't pre-wash anything I make for my girls either so I can see for myself that the shirts or applique material doesn't shrink after I wash them. The only item I recommend you pre-wash is a waffle weave dish towel as those do shrink a lot after washing.

We don't have internet.
Will this machine work with out internet
Does it have a USB port
Yes the machine and Embrilliance Essentials Software both work without internet connection. The only time you will need it is when you want to purchase embroidery designs from online stores. But once you have them downloaded, you won't need an internet connection anymore to do a project.
Does the tape ever leave any kind of residue on the onesie?

@@KarlieBelle do you always use the purple side or do you sometimes also use the blue side? I know there's a difference between them...
I typically use the purple side till it runs out then the blue. Purple is air and water and blue is just water disappearing ink
Karlie,
Do you wash your shirts and onesie before you give them to the person
No I do not, just in case they have any allergies to my detergent
Hi. How do u get your thumbnail to be large on pe 800 when you download image
I believe there is an option in the setting menu of your machine to increase or decrease the size of the thumbnail.
Why did you use the parchment paper before pressing the front?
different brands of thread can be sensitive to heat directly from an iron. Also if there is water soluble topper on my shirt, I don't want that to get stuck to my iron.
Oh Noh! I just get lucky one guy who had 42 years in embroidery experience taught me 3 days ago to change the tread more easier. I did your style last time and it’s very troublesome for me. I don’t know how to share it here.

Glad it was helpful. Yes it can be time consuming depending on what you are doing, but the more you do, the faster you get at it.
Really like the Tide Pen...But, WHY would you put that coffee design on a little baby's onesie?
It is for a family that is from New Orleans but recently moved away. Cafe du Monde is very popular here, every for children's clothing :)
