Great video for the beginner embroider. Loved how you showed how to use the grid by marking the stabilizer and blanket. Nice tip about using the topper. Thanks for sharing!
I just want to say THANK YOU SEW MUCH...I have a sewing embroidery machine and a Bernina embroidery machine...I really have not done any embroidery at all as I am scared to death....Of ALL the tutorials I have watched, yours if by far the BEST....you have helped me to overcome my fear. I love how you walked through every step of the process and explained...I had no idea of sew much of this and now I understand the what's and why's...Honestly, I cannot thank you enough...your tutorial will be saved in my Embroidery file and I will be watching it several times....I cannot wait to get going.....
This was super helpful. I just got my Dreamweaver about 2 weeks ago now and finding beginner videos is very hard. I love that you started from the very beginning hooping, floating, etc. thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much. I just got my machine and am overcoming all the fears that came with it. You made it look easy which gave me the confidence I needed to give it a go!!!
I am so thankful I found your You-Tube Channel. I just purchased a Brother Innovis ve2300. I finally unboxed it after a week. I fear this machine. LOL. Your tutorials are so helpful and reassuring. I thought your accent sounded familiar. I was born & raised in Lafayette, LA. Live in Tx now.
Excellant tutorial! I had a Designer II sewing and embroidery machine for years, but it became unreliable so I sold it and purchased a PE400, and this was still a few years back. I mostly did sewing and quilting and recently decided to check out the embroidery feature. I do have Embrilliance Essentials and purchased the large hoop. I should also mention I have a Mac. My attempt to the large hoop has not gone well. Your tutorial answered so many issues I am having that the customer service folks couldn't help me with (and yes, I read the manual). I was so excited to find you video, I deleted my test design and started over. I have all confidence it will work perfectly now thanks to your very clear steps and explanations. If it still doesn't work, I'll be back. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. So appreciated!
Yay I'm so happy my video was helpful to you! Be sure to watch my 5x12 hoop tutorial too. It will be the same for you except you will choose the 100x172mm hoop :)
Thank you so much for your time and info on learning this. I’m going to get a machine. Soooo excited but kinda scary just the same. I totally LOVE to sew, it’s my therapy.
Oh My Goodness!! I day dream of the day I can get an embroidery machine! I do some simple sewing and have decided this is the year I work more consistently on simple sewing projects.
Oh how nice!!! I only have a super basic sewing machine, but it works well for what I'm doing which is straight seams. I want to make pillow cases and mitered corner cloth napkins.
What a great video! I kept admiring your room and thinking how organized it looked. You can tell you are an organized person. I really like your room, nice set up. This looks like a great project for beginners and I liked how you showed how to float embroidery on thick items. I am going to try embroidering on Minky fabric. I have made several blankets and now want to embroider on them. I may try what you showed on this video. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I am glad you enjoyed my video. I do love organization and I have a couple of blog post about my craft room. Here is a link to how I made my craft table: www.karliebelle.com/diy-craft-table-pegboard/
Hi, can you show a video on how to put the name in the corner of the blankie.....Or direct me to a video if you've already done it....just came across your videos....very clear and precise....
I am new to this channel and find it interesting watching the technique. I will be getting my machine in February. By then I will have saved enough to buy it. :)
Yay I hope you love using your machine once you get it in! Also once you get comfortable using it, you can make items to sell and make the money back that you spent on it!
@@KarlieBelle My Husband and children also told me the same. My son is an ironworker and already has some orders for me to make welders caps with embroidered Union number and person's name. the girls told me I could make all sorts of items like clothes, bags ect. and embroider on them and sell them. It will pay for itself in no time. lol Merry Christmas my friend
I am so thankful for your videos! I really appreciate them! I am just beginning and I learn visually and by repetition. I have a brother embroidery machine and I’m going to get Embrilliance Essentials software so you are helping so much! I think I can do this! I am just doing this so I can make projects for my family and friends though. I would have to get really good before j took orders. 😀
Thank you for the kind words! I was the same when I started, I made things for my kids and gifts for friends before I felt comfortable enough to sell things. Its great practice :)
Thank you so much I really like the way you explained everything and you did not rush on your tutorial I usually have to go back on other peoples tutorials because they talk so fast, I do have a question ? In order to do a name like you did in this video do I need to purchase a certain application for my computer To make names or 3 letter initials ? Like embrelliance or some other ?
Yes, Embrilliance Essentials makes using embroidery fonts so much easier! You can get fonts in BX format and then just type them out with your keyboard. You can also change the format so that it looks like a 3 letter monogram. Here is a link to an Embrilliance video tutorial to show you more of how it works ruclips.net/video/E8UP1o_o5S4/видео.html
Hey Karlie. I am new to your channel and really like it. I was given the same embroidery machine that you have but can't seem to figure out how to use it. I can thread it. And put a name on scrap material. But can't center on a shirt or anything. I also can't figure out how to do more than one line . Do you have any suggestions for me?
Very clear instructions. Thanks! Tried to embroider a knit baby bath towel with no success. It bunched horribly and the machine ate it. Took me an hour to get it out of the machine. Had to cut a huge hole in it. Any ideas what I should have done? I used a lightweight tear away.which might have been too thin, but any advice would be welcomed since I have 2 more of these blankets. I want to put their name on one and maybe a bath design on the other. Thanks.
Hi Linda, a lightweight tearaway should be fine on a towel. I would also suggest using a topper as I did in the video to keep your threads from sinking in. Are you having trouble with embroidering other materials or is it just the towels giving you trouble? Other things to check would be how your hooping the item and check your bobbin to make sure its threaded right and the tension is good. I hope this helps!
Thanks for the video & nicely done. I have the same machine & wanted to sew potholder mittens. Do I suppose to embroider first before sewing the actual mitten together or do I embroider after I'm done?
Thanks Twanna! If you are making the potholder yourself, then yes cut your pattern, embroider, then sew together. If you will have a liner on the inside then just embroider the outer fabric then sew the liner to coverup the back threads for a more finished look. Sounds like a fun project, good luck!
I came across your video and watched it. It was very helpful even though it is an older video. I have a question. I just got an Brother Innov is NE1150E embroidery machine recently as a gift. I read that when working with Fleece that you need to slow the speed down and also you have to adjust the tension for the top thread or the bobbin threads. Do you have any tutorials on that. Or what do you suggest is a good tension for working with fleece.
Hi Bonnie. I don't believe I have worked with fleece on this machine. However, slowing your machine down can be helpful. You can do that by pressing the button that looks like a sheet of paper with the corner folded. Once there use the arrow buttons to scroll until you see speed options. You can pick 350 or 650 stitches per min. I would do a test stitch first on some scrap fleece and see how it looks before messing with the tension. Let me know how it goes 😁
What pattern do you use for your letters? I've tried several and have not been very happy. I would also like a script look for a girl's blanket. Thanks so much!
Hi Lynne. For this blanket, I use the Davidson Font from Applique Corner (www.appliquecorner.com/davidson-embroidery-font.html) There are lots of pretty script fonts on this site too. One that I really like is Natalie Font (www.appliquecorner.com/natalie-embroidery-font.html). Remember you need Embroidery software on your computer to open these fonts. Then type out the name, and have it the size and placement you want before saving it and transferring it to your embroidery machine.

All of their onesies have snaps down the back so you can open them up completely and are super easy to hoop. They cost more than onesies that you can get from Carter's or Gerber but are worth the frustration you will put yourself through LOL. Also, the quality of the material is much better and comes in lots of colors :)
I have it on a thread holder on side of my machine. It is linked in the description box. I like it a lot better than the thread holder that comes on the machine.
Karen Derbes yes regular tear away is all you need for this project. I only keep iron on tear away in my craft room and use the fusible option only when not floating. Sorry if I was confusing.
