I just received my PE-900 machine a few weeks ago and have been looking for tutorials for using the 5x12 hoop. Yours is the first that I found that thoroughly explains the process. I had a SE-400 and using the repositional hoop always left a gap in the stitching where there was a hoop change. I am ecstatic to learn there will be no gaps. Thank you so much😄
Karlie, Ive had a Viking embroidery machine for years, and have used it, but I just bought a PE800 machine. You have presented a very professional, thorough, and extremely well taught video using the larger hoop! WOW!! Ive learned SO much from you in just two videos! You’re an excellent, patient, and well planned teacher! Thank you SO much for your great lessons!
my pe800 tells me my design is too big for the extra large embroidery hoop but in my hatch embroidery software it is way smaller than the hoop. Can you shed some light on this? im at a loss

I always use tear away on blankets and towels because they are usually thick material that doesn’t need much stabilizer. Cut away is best on thinner fabrics such as knit shirts or thin woven cotton.
Hi Karlie. I am hoping you can help me. I have the Brother se625. I used your directions in this video to use my multi hoop. I used the name Turner. The hoop split my design after the first r in Turner. When I was prompted to move the hoop for the last 3 letters in his name, I saw that the y were going to print out smaller than the first 3 letters. I don’t understand why the size would change. The only difference I see that I did from you was that when I saved my design in a Embrilliance I saved it as both a PES and Working file. When I saved the file on my USB, I saved 3 files; TUR, NER in PES format and the third was the working file for Turner I .be. Can you give me sone advice!
So one of the issues I'm running into using the multi-positional hoop is some designs don't split very neatly once I poured it into the machine. What I mean is the final embroidered product stitches out very strangely where the embroidery is split. It's very frustrating. It doesn't do it with every design but with certain designs. All I did was try to create a rectangular border and there's a weird gap between the split
Thanks so much for sharing, Karlie. The blanket is gorgeous and I'm sure was well received. I'm a completely new to machine embroidery too and am wondering whether I can stitch the design I bought for the 12 x 5 inch hoop without splitting it first using the software. Will my PE770 know automatically where to split the design? Any help would be very much appreciated. Many thanks and please keep the tutorials coming!
Yes for the 5x12 hoop you will need software in order to split the design up. You machine will not do this automatically. Embrilliance Essentials is the program I use and recommend. Just follow the instructions in this video on how to choose the 5x12 hoop, make your design, then save it to a flash drive. The software will automatically split it into 2 designs for you. www.embrilliance.com/jamaffiliates/aff_tools/karliebelle/tool/text_links/16
This is a great video. I have looking for a video to do just this. I do have a quick question. I noticed that you created your own design but can you do this with a pre existing design? (Something that i bought and allowed to add ie letters or manipulate specifically to do on a bigger hoop). If you already have a video can you point me in the right direction? BTW i just started following you this Friday was my second sip and stitch. You teaching style is fantastic and lots of patiences with your children!
Thank you so much! Yes you can definitely use a pre existing design. All you need to do is open it in Embrilliance and select your multi position hoop. Everything I used in this video is designs and fonts I purchased online. I just chose that way I wanted to arrange them :)
Absolutely lovely project . I love and appreciate your clear and systematic teaching style. Thank you . Did you say you used Clorox pen to remove the pen marks ??
I'm a soin to be newbie. Your blanket is absolutely beautiful. I don't understand the reason for the water soluble topper. Can you explain why that's needed?
Yes, the topper helps the threads keep from sinking down into the material. Some people only find this is necessary for plush blankets and towels, but I use it for all of my projects. I find it helps make the finished product look nicer.
Thank you! Here is my link to Embrilliance Essentials. I have some videos on how to use the software in my Facebook group if you would like to join. www.embrilliance.com/jamaffiliates/aff_tools/karliebelle/tool/text_links/16
Hi so I realize this post is from 2 years ago but I was hoping you might could help with a problem. I have a PE770 embroidery machine. I’m trying to use a 5x12 hoop and my machine won’t recognize my pattern when I plug my jump drive in. I have made sure that the right size is picked on embrilliance. Any suggestions would help. I’ve watch many of your videos but can’t seem to fix the problem. Lol. Thanks for all your knowledge 😊
Hi! I have seen some people have trouble with this. First try opening your 2 stitch files in Embrilliance. For some reason the 1st basting stitch can sometimes be the length of the large hoop and not within the 5x7 frame. If it looks like this, delete that step and resave the stitch file. Also updating your Embrilliance software may help fix this. Let me know if that works for you!
Thank you so much for your tutorial. I have a PE770 and I love my machine, I do have a software but I don’t understand how to combine my files from my computer to the usb. HELP

@@KarlieBelle hi. Which software would you recommend for designing your own or making logo with flowers and decorations stiches. Between Hatch and embrillance?? I
Thank you for sharing this video. Where do you get your BX fonts for Embrilliance? I'm trying to find a package set of BX fonts rather than purchasing them one by one. Would be great if there's just collection of different type of BX fonts to purchase. I would appreciate a reply. Thank you.
I typically just buy them one by one, usually when they are on sale. Designs by JuJu runs sales where you can get 10 for $10 sometimes. They do have bundles of 1/4 inch fonts if you need to do small lettering. Also I believe Applique Corner has font bundles that you can check out
I did this project using only Embrilliance Essentials. But since I recorded this video I have also purchased Enthusiast and Stitch Artist and I love those programs too.
Yes they sell a 4x7 multi position hoop for your machine. You would follow the same process that I did in this video but select the 100x172 Large Hoop in Embrilliance Essentials. Here is a hoop set for your machine that includes the 4x7 amzn.to/3g6jAHB
Wonderful tutorial! You really instruct well. I do have a question. You skipped the rose on the 2nd design and went to the bottom scroll to avoid changing thread. Do you just go back to #3 anytime during the embroidery session to get the second rose? I did not know you could skip back and forth. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Yes, I skip around steps a lot to prevent multiple thread changes when I can. On a brother machine you should see a needle with a +/- icon next to it. Click that and then you will see a spool with a + or -, that will allow you to jump ahead or back entire steps in the design. The needle with a + or - will allow you to jump ahead or back individual stitches within a step. With these buttons you will be able to put your needle right where you want to start stitching in any design :)
I don't know if I missed it in the video, but did you have to click on anything like "Split design" or did the program automatically do it simply because you used the re-positionable hoop?
Karlie Belle why Does the program automatically know to avoid splitting letters in half? Is it possible to preview the two halves/files in Embrilliance before uploading them to the machine?
Hey Karlie! I want to thank you for such a detailed video on this... I literally just purchased the PE800 after making the mistake (well not mistake) but choice of buying the PE550d first. I thought that since I was new to this, I shouldn't spend too much money on a machine and figured the PE550d would be the perfect starter machine (which it was) but I realized within 2 weeks that I needed something more advanced. So, I bought the PE800, sold the PE550d and began exploring my abilities with this new machine. I love it! However, it only came with the 5x7 hoop and I have been wasting a ton of stabilizer on small projects considering I make face masks lol. So, I just received my pack of hoops which included the 5x12 and I was wondering how to use it and came across this video. I appreciate it so much because I still have so much to learn in order to expand my business. Not only did I learn how to use the 5x12 hoop from this video but also that I need to buy Embrilliance lol. I have been using SewArt for the past couple of months. I started with the free trial and it worked okay for what I needed it for but I ended up buying it after the trial ended because I didn't know what to go with next. It's nothing like Embrilliance is! It's kiddy stuff compared to what I need to be doing which is what you have shown here. So, just like with the machine.... I should have forked out the extra for Embrilliance because now I'm spending more than I intended because I can't sell my Sewart purchase lol. Or can I? haha. Anyways, I have subscribed to your channel because you have been so helpful just from this video and I thank you so much for it! However, if there is any chance we could get in touch so you could help me with a few things on a side note, that would be great! If you could email me, please do at navebrigette@yahoo.com. That is my email I use for every day things but once I receive an email from you, I will give you my regular email. Hope to hear from you soon! Thank you again for the detailed video!
Hi Beasy! Thank you so much for the kind words! Congrats on your new PE800 and I'm so happy this video helped you so much. I will send you an email to give you more info :)
Hey Karlie! I am having an issue with my jumbo hoop. When I start the 2nd hooping, it does not line up correctly. Have you ever had this issue and if so, PLEASE HELP 😫
No I haven't had this problem. Make sure you have your machine pulled away from the wall and that your hoop is not bumping into anything causing it to move its alignment.
When you use the stitch simulator on Embrilliance, does it look to stitch out right there? Make sure you open each of the split designs and see how they look on the computer first.
Yes Essentials comes with the 5x12 and 4x7 multi position hoops already loaded. Enthusiast will come with more options along with the ability to make a custom split hoop :)
I don't have the paid for software just the free. So I can't select a reposition hoop. However if I size and do the design according to basically what's on your screen do I need to save each half separately? Or save it as a whole design still? Does the hoop selected on the screen make a big difference if I size everything right?
Unfortunately your machine won't open any design that is bigger than 5x7 in size. You will need to software in order to split the design into 2 design that are 5x7 in size each

Eliza Casa thank you and you can!!! Just start by practicing on some scrap fabric. Hoop some stabilizer and fabric and start stitching 😁
Absolutely beautiful! Love it!
Thank you so much!
@@KarlieBelle hi. Which software would you recommend for designing your own or making logo with flowers and decorations stiches. Between Hatch and embrillance?? I
Beautiful. I love your videos.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for showing us.
You are very welcome 😁
Great tutorial and beautiful blanket! Did you start the first position on the center point marked on the blanket?
Thank you and yes
This is awesome! How did you learn to do this? I had no idea the brother PE could do this. I have the 770.
I know I was amazed when I figured this out! It make multiple hoopings so much easier now!
Beautiful design, where can I get the scroll and flowers? thanks
The scroll and flowers are both add ons to this font www.embroidery-boutique.com/products/ballerina-vintage-alphabet
Is it possible to use embrillance express with reposition hoop?
Thank you for sharing this video. Where do you get your BX fonts for Embrilliance? I'm trying to find a package set of BX fonts rather than purchasing them one by one. Would be great if there's just collection of different type of BX fonts to purchase. I would appreciate a reply. Thank you.
I typically just buy them one by one, usually when they are on sale. Designs by JuJu runs sales where you can get 10 for $10 sometimes. They do have bundles of 1/4 inch fonts if you need to do small lettering. Also I believe Applique Corner has font bundles that you can check out
@@KarlieBelle Thank you for this. Keep posting more videos! Love watching them. God bless you.🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for this tutorial!!
I'm glad it was helpful!
Which Embrilliance package did you buy? I have the brother se1900.
Blanket came out georgeous.
I did this project using only Embrilliance Essentials. But since I recorded this video I have also purchased Enthusiast and Stitch Artist and I love those programs too.
Thank you
Hey Karlie! Thank you for these amazing tutorials! Could I use an adjustable hoop with my PE 535 (4x4 hoop)?
Yes they sell a 4x7 multi position hoop for your machine. You would follow the same process that I did in this video but select the 100x172 Large Hoop in Embrilliance Essentials. Here is a hoop set for your machine that includes the 4x7 amzn.to/3g6jAHB
@@KarlieBelle thank you sol much!!
Well done!!!! that was really nice and informative
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Wow this was a really great video...I didn’t know any of this..thank you
You are so welcome!
Great job!
Very nice!!
I don't know if I missed it in the video, but did you have to click on anything like "Split design" or did the program automatically do it simply because you used the re-positionable hoop?
The program automatically does it for you when you save it because you had it in a multi position hoop.
Beautiful 💙 thanks so much 💙
You are very welcome and thanks for watching!
Thank you for this!!
You're so welcome!
Terrific presentation. Thank you. New subbie. 🤩
Shared this with a friend who also has a PE770
Awesome! Thank you!
@@KarlieBelle thanks for replying. no bumping going on, not sure what is happening :(
When you use the stitch simulator on Embrilliance, does it look to stitch out right there? Make sure you open each of the split designs and see how they look on the computer first.
I thought going to need essentials and enthusiast!! So Can I make repositional hoops only with essentials? I have Brother se 625
Yes Essentials comes with the 5x12 and 4x7 multi position hoops already loaded. Enthusiast will come with more options along with the ability to make a custom split hoop :)
@@KarlieBelle thanks! :)
You will need to software in order to split the design into 2 design that are 5x7 in size each
Thank you for this informational video!
Your amazing.
Glad it was helpful!
This is soooo adorable!! What weight of thread did you use and did you use both in top and bottom??
Thanks so much. I use 40wt embroidery thread on top and 90wt white bobbin thread on the bottom
