me too...most utubers just hit the speedy gonzalez speed switch...like if they do not want no one to learn anything from them...but my guess is that they want us to watch their videos, endure the ads, so they collect the money and that is the end of it. I believe if i am going to invest my time i want to learn something to enrich my life...
You are wonderful! And you create the most interesting pieces then others with chanels with k of viewers. Thank you ! Love and blessings from Romania ❤❤🍀🍀🙏🙏
I listened a few times, but couldn't quite make out what you were saying when rolling on the top coat. "use a texture roller, or even a 'mow texture roller' ...... ?? What is that? Love the results! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I normally dislike a piece that’s real distressed but this is pretty cool. It’s really out of the ordinary for you. It kind of looks like it’s smiling at you.😄
12:29 I was already loving this video, then I heard Chris Cornell in the background. Now I love it even more. 💗 Beautiful work. I can't wait to try it! :)
your the cutest, and a super informative video... im not into the super chippy tons of layers look but i loved this... and ill be stealing your ideas... thanks sister, good job
I use DIY paint which is clay-based paint which doesnt require adding clay since it's the primary ingredient. In case people dont want to mix their own. I tend to make a mess. Great tutorial.
Hey Ce Ce, I’m wondering if a transfer can be applied over this chippy textured finish? I’m hoping you’ve tried this out as I’m hesitant to try it and waste a transfer. Much thanks for your tutorials, you’re the bomb!
I see that a few people asked about colors. I know it is dixie belle but what were the actual colors. I thought I missed it in the video but you only said I used these colors and held them up.
I guess I'm a little confused, you said your using dixie belle paint, which is a clay based paint correct? So would you still use the clay additive? Or could you still add extra clay in a clay based paint?
I was confused as well. I did some research and most of the water paints are clay based not just dixie pigxie or Anne ,,, or any of the ones that they advertise on this videos.
Es espectacular , me encanta. Se puede hacer con brocha? No habia visto nunca hacerlo con lo q lo hace.es como una brocha cuadrada?😘😘 saludos desde San Medel un pueblecito
Love this. What are the paint color please? Thinking of doing my stair risers in this technique. Will fit in well with the farmhouse. Thankyou for all the wonderful tutorials.
hen you distess dinning table do you usually do the top or leave the finish just there. Mine is cherry wood so not sure how good it would look with distessed. What about painting the top a solid color? The ones I have seen usually seen have a solid top. Another thing is that first coat you applied looked so dark then dried so light then after you aplied the other colors it looked gray! Scares me that my colors wont turn out how I want hem because that first coat looked nothing like it did in the jar! Also I heard people say that when using chalk paint you dont have to sand first because it sticks so well. If not for that this would be a breeze and very quick. My first project is a very big dinning table and a long buffet table. How important is it to sand first?
This seems to be the fasted method. I just watched one where she added the paint layers and chipped it back off but instead you are applying it so that it looks like it has been chipped. She used crackle as well. I think it would have looked cool to add that crackle look to the last layer! I am thinking of doin my dinning room table distressed and coastal looking because I cant find any to buy! I have seen a lot of sideboards and chairs but no dinning tables on wayfair or overstock or any furniture stores beside Kanes and it is to small. Apreciate you doing this video, I was about to change themes to peacocks with a formal set instead of this look that I love! I know I can do this!
L❤️❤️KS amazing! I have been looking all over the Internet for that block you used: Amazon, Michael's, Walmart Hobby Lobby, and no one even pulls pictures up pics. What is its technical name, or do you have a link where you purchased yours??? Do you think I could use a spackle knife instead of a wood block? Also, I will be hand sanding my two pieces. I want to take off some of the darkness as well the original sheen, so what grade of sanding paper would you recommend? In addition, can I finish with clear wax, or do you recommend a liquid? Lastly, how many ounces of bentonite would you use for 1QT?
Hi Jeep Girl Adventures. The only thing I can find that comes somewhat close to the woodblock she used is on Amazon and they are called wood peg dolls. Not much else comes even this close!
‘Ugly and crappy’ is subjective. One might say it also describes your attitude but that is also just an opinion. And opinions vary amongst individuals. I’d imagine that I might find your furnishings unsightly personally. However, I realize that keeping that to myself is the more mature thing to do. Because there is no scenario having an outcome in which I read a rude comment and think to myself “you know what? I’d better get that piece of furniture back from the person who paid for it and loved it so I can repaint it based on a RUclips troll comment”
Since that's how feel about this look then you should love it!!! It's just like your "ugly crappy" attitude/opinion!!! If you don't like this look then don't watch the video or leave ur rude opinion. Anyways, LOVE it and you did a AWESOME job❤👏and ur AMAZING reply to the article crafty ugly crappy opinion that ppl don't need anymore of!!!
Artsie Crafty, I suppose that the term ‘ugly and crappy’ would depend on your definition of “our” homes… quite obviously, it wouldn’t look good in your home (or you wouldn’t have commented as you did); on the other hand, in “my” home (and the home of CeCe’s client) at least, it would look stunning… and I would pay money for it, as I’m sure her client did. Looking “Dingy & dirty” in your home, would translate to looking “aged & weathered” in mine; and I can assure you that there isn’t a great deal of dirt (or dinge) in my home. I think we all know that arts & crafts (or Artsies & Craftys) are subjective yet your comment, extremely objective… you have clearly offered us your ‘interpretation’ in place of your ‘intelligence’. I believe CeCe’s guidelines for leaving comments, included the terms ‘kindness and respectfulness’… neither of which you have extended here, but I do hope at least, that you made yourself feel warm and fuzzy instead of dingy and dirty. Have a great day. 😊
Thanks for your educational experience and resources and different steps in setting everything up for the final results. God-bless.
i learned so much with this video thank you for sharing knowledge...
I've been looking for chippy tutorial that showed exactly what I want to achieve and this is it. Literally for years I've been searching

I love this technique! You rock!

Thanks for that info about the calcium bentonite clay!

What a great piece
Hi CeCe, that looks amazing. Where did you get the transfers for the side of the drawers?
your the cutest, and a super informative video... im not into the super chippy tons of layers look but i loved this... and ill be stealing your ideas... thanks sister, good job
Love it CeeCee and thanks for telling me some products that are cheaper for us to use
I use DIY paint which is clay-based paint which doesnt require adding clay since it's the primary ingredient. In case people dont want to mix their own. I tend to make a mess. Great tutorial.
Yes, DIY paint would work perfectly.. I’m not supposed to suggest that... as a brand ambassador for Dixie Belle I’m exclusive. But you’re correct 😉
Most if not all the water paint is clay based.
Hey Ce Ce, I’m wondering if a transfer can be applied over this chippy textured finish? I’m hoping you’ve tried this out as I’m hesitant to try it and waste a transfer. Much thanks for your tutorials, you’re the bomb!
Love this! I would like to do a kitchen table with this, quick question could I use polyethene to seal instead of gator hide?
You Look Super Cute in those Overalls! :) You Should Definately wear them more!
Cece I adore this 🖤🖤🖤
I like the concept of the woodblock, brushes are so last year
😍
Wow amazing

Curious, instead of Gator hide, can you use a wax to seal this paint?

I think she used stormy seas, colornal mustard, and dixie belle blue? And either drop cloth or buttercream for the off white.
@@resinasylum I think you are right about the paint colours but I’m not sure if it’s Dixie blue or ocean?
I think you are right on all the colours it is Dixie belle blue.
Im doing this technique today! :D wish me luck!
J’adore 😍
Do you have a video of what you did to the curvy dresser behind you? I have one similar and looking for inspiration
I have that same dresser good to one I can change the hardware
What colors did you use please
If you're using Dixie Belle, can you tell us what colors you used?
question why u are hiding under that cap// is a black eye?
How much do you charge for something like that?

Could you use milk paint for the top white layer for even more chippy?
School me….what does it mean when u say the paint will reactive if not sealed immediately? I’m in the learning process and am full of questions🙂
Good' it's ready for the landfill.
Absolutely love what you've done!!!
Can you tell which paints did you use and if I don’t have this block which brush can I use ?
Can you use the sea salt and crackle on top of silk paint
Where are those transfers from please? Xx
The hardware you used is so neat. Do you have a source for it?
I have that same hardware. I bought it at Hobby Lobby.
What kind of roller are you using CeCe?
Can you tell the name of that wood block tool thingy you use. I def have to get one
Distressing block..you can use a piece of 2x4 or any wooden block or flat chunk of scrap 😄
Doesn't that hat limit your vision and hurt your eyes in the long run ? Great video though

If I’m using sea spray what consistency should it be

Dresser looks Great !
Please don’t hide your face with a hat 🧢
It’s hard to watch not seeing someone’s eyes 😢
Horroroso
We really need a lot more ugly crappy looking things in our homes. Dingy and dirty makes a really good look?
