It's always so fun watching you work. And Sean is great too! I'm going to refinish our ugly vanity and bathroom cabinet as well as a free standing cabinet i bought on marketplace. But everything is vertical! I think I'll mix the salt into the paint with a bit of plaster of Paris. Thanks for giving so many of us the courage to try these fun and (hopefully) beautiful projects. You're an inspiration!
I love watching you create! I have the sea spray product and I used according to the instructions, stirring it into the paint before applying. I have used it a few times with minimal effect. I like your approach better. You have renewed interest in using sea salt, but sprinkling on top.
I can imagine this was difficult. I know how you love the smooth perfect finishes. I am that way too. I admire these pieces but I know I would still be trying to make it perfect or smooth. I love when other people do this!
I am definitely going to try this method on a piece of older furniture that my dad had to repair. I painted it a light yellow and it's boring looking. I think this is absolutely the method to use on it. Thanks for sharing this❣
Brandy, This is the first time I’ve watched this video...don’t know how I missed it! But, if you haven’t found a new website for custom papers...ZAZZLE!
Golden. which produces finishes for artists, has products with varying degrees of grit in them and gives you more control. Also how many colors could you use? More than 2?
I will be painting a dresser for my 11 YO grandson. He likes greens and greys. I want to paint something other than just the standard panting pattern. I need this dresser to last for a few years at least and grow as he gets older. Any suggestions on patterns or colors?
Milk paintnhas a antiquing glaze to remove layers with but milk paint is finicky (is that even the spelling) the consistency right and it has to be mixed the night before and most people mix it too thick
it seems like a lot of wasted paint & time to get the effect of an old piece of furniture that already has layers of paint. I guess I'll never understand the "refinishing" of old furniture to make it look old when it was already old looking to begin with. Just slap a new coat of paint on an old piece if you don't like the original color.
I Love the banter your husband & you have back & forth as it’s very entertaining 🤣
Beautiful piece! I have used rice, instant coffee and instant iced tea for texture/resist! It’s FUN to see what you get! Zero control!
You are such a great teacher. Easy to learn from you. Love that! Love, love your work. Just beautiful💖

I use sea salt too! So glad I have SOMETHING in common with you. Insert quirky cheesy grin.

Sea Spray is a great way to add texture. Instead of painting it on, try pouncing it on.

I am just painting my 1st furniture piece EVER!! I wish there was a way I could show you when I'm done

Great video.....you are always creative. I love using Dixie Belle Sea Spray
Thanks for sharing this Brandy. I learned something new today!
Looks great! Farmhouse is my favorite
Hi first time viewer here. I know this video is old but what is the color on the piece behind you. It's a beautiful emerald color.
Mermaid kiss from Wise owl paint, check out siren song for another vibrant teal too

It’s looking amazing.
I love it, but could you get the same effect by doing a yellow chalk paint and a green milk paint?

I have always heard that wet distressing is taking a wet rag to a dried piece???
Oh I love this!
I wish there was a link to this finished dresser too
Brandy, I am painting a buffet. I won’t be able to remove doors to apply salt as you did.
Can you please suggest a method? thank you
You can use salt wash to create texture

Try using a "Crackle" paint effect, then hit it lightly with the putty knife or use a sander.
Hope you try this effect.
I think the method is great, but too much labor for me. I can appreciate the work you’re putting into this piece.

Where is the final result pic?
Brandy I bought some Dixie Bell Paint through your website but how do i know you got your cut for it?
I can see orders made through my link on my end
You just answered my question. I can’t lay my armoire on it’s side. *Sigh*
Great technique! Plz wear ear protection 👍
Would like to join world of chalk, paint, distress, and decoupage can find the group?
Im no longer a member since it's a Dixie belle paint group and I cannot in good conscience support or recommend their brand
I mix my salt in my paint and then blob it on
When sanding
I’m in pain just watching you sit like that. My knees are killing me now. Lol. But why don’t you use a dust mask?
So this acts like a patina of sorts..
not for me...too much work

I think it’s getting a custom ‘old’ look to match the rest of the decor
