    Great review Tish. As the lucky owner of a new Quadrifoglio since last year, I have to disagree with you on one point. If you drive in either the Natural mode, or Advanced Efficiency, it's a doddle to drive in a sedate manner if you wish to, but put your foot down, and it will take off even when in AE. Being older my car does not have the digital dashboard or the new headlights, but I prefer the original dash and headlight. I personally feel that if my car had the new digital dash, I would select the heritage display and therefore night as well have the analogue dials. I think you'll find that as standard the car comes with dark grey brake calipers and not yellow. Most reviewers complain about the brake by wire system, and say it's impossible to stop the car without a jolt, but I disagree. I previously had a Giulia Veloce, but was delighted when I was able to upgrade. To summarise, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is a fantastic car which looks amazing and is wonderful to drive. If anyone is on the fence about buying one, take the plunge, you won't be disappointed unless you want 95 shades of interior ambient lighting. 😊

    • @nessuno5403
      @nessuno5403 7 месяцев назад +1

      The new digital dashboard is a delight, but true... one ends up settling for the Heritage dials! The biggest unfortunate loss is the small Q badge, that is digital only. As for headlights, the old ones are truly ancient now (they look like those on the original GT86). And the brakes... they are perfect if you fit the Giulia with CCBs. It's unbelievable how much you can hammer them when having fun.

    • @geoffmajor7304
      @geoffmajor7304 7 месяцев назад

      @@nessuno5403 To save money, Alfa didn't redesign the headlight aperture, and I feel that the new headlights, though better, don't look as good. It's obviously personal preference.

    • @nessuno5403
      @nessuno5403 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@geoffmajor7304 I've had the option for either and I can tell you the new headlights are great too. But a personal preference as you say. The Stelvio is where it doesn't work because the aperture is wider. But I'm glad this facelift didn't ruin the front or rear. If you want an example of how bad it might have been, look at how they facelifted the 80s 33 in the 90s = same cabin and doors, revised 164-style front and rear, which didn't fully blend with the original style.

    I’ve got a 21 plate at moment but about to take delivery of a 24 plate in the next week,it’s an easy decision for me as nothing else ticked my box around that 70k mark.
    A few trepidations are the lack of tech upgrades in cabin & not sure about that new carbon weave maybe they could have done better as changes are pretty minimal but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it that’s got to be Alfas’s mantra on this one surely either way it’s got me to part with my money into this enigma of a car I can’t help love em 👍🏻

      @@AutoSocialUK Yes Tish they are very beautiful from every angle, which is something you can't say for most of its competitors. I considered a BMW M340i before buying my Quadrifoglio. this car is perfect you just don't scratch the surface

  • @AP-cc1uw
    @AP-cc1uw 7 месяцев назад +5

    I actually do think it has a split personality, more so than the G80. It's just different. Whereas the G80 is always stiff feeling, even in its softest mode, the Giulia in soft suspension mode is much more liveable. There's a difference again on the throttle mapping and traction. In Advanced Efficiency mode, the Alfa on its stock tires in colder or wetter weather will still lose some traction at the rear end, but if you don't want that, switching to Michelin Pilot Sports and a softer foot will take care of it. The BMW doesn't have the same issue because its usually specced with xDrive and tires with a wider range of traction. But you still can't solve for the suspension harshness. That's the beauty of the Alfa. The stuff you can't control without spending a ton of money, like suspension geometry and spring rates, they have tuned to perfection. They then leave it up to you as the driver to control everything else with your foot. The BMW out of the box is way too harsh, but then its nanny city in less aggressive modes. You can tell who these cars are designed for. The BMW is for boy racers who don't mind being bounced around but who also can't drive. The Alfa is for someone who appreciates a supple ride when they want it, but who also understands throttle inputs and traction.

    • @nessuno5403
      @nessuno5403 7 месяцев назад +1

      Glad you didn't mention the weight of the BMW because in normal driving, it doesn't matter. What you forgot to mention is the unfortunate digital sound of the engine through the speakers.

    • @AP-cc1uw
      @AP-cc1uw 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@nessuno5403 Yes that's right. The Alfa sounds much better. And the weight of the G80 is felt a bit when pushing it, but overall its well controlled. You aren't going to really notice it until its on a track. But the G80 is faster on a track than the Alfa, no getting around it. But then again, that's not the primary point of a sports sedan.

    • @nessuno5403
      @nessuno5403 7 месяцев назад

      @@AP-cc1uw agreed. I drove a G80 on track and in a fast sweeper, you could feel the weight make the car wobble! It is a fast car and faster depending on track layout. At the Nurburgring, BMW has only officially beaten this Giulia with xDrive.

    As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke don’t fix, something so many car companies need to take on board, so many times these day reviews say why ? Change for change sake, often for the worse, to me a car is about driving, keeping on about cup holders and the information screen is ridiculous to me, you set it to what you like and rarely change it, a beautiful looking car, that drives and handles very well, leave it alone, lol, nice to have buttons and knobs for controls, good review thanks, wasn’t getting at you about the screen, some make such a fuss, and tail pipes spot on, these strange shapes at the rear called exhaust pipes, when you look in them you often see round pipes 😂

    • @geoffmajor7304
      @geoffmajor7304 7 месяцев назад +2

      I totally agree with you, and it's refreshing to have physically knobs to change the volume of the radio, interior temperature etc. The idea of having controls that you need to change regularly built in to an infotainment screen is in my view madness, and in some cases, where you have to go through various menus to get to them, is unsafe. How can you concentrate on driving when you're fiddling about with menus?!

La nuova Dodge Charger illustra ciò che si potrà aspettare dalla nuova generazione (quindi non è o sarà roba francese). Certamente però sarà la fine di questo motore di derivazione Ferrari.
