      Well BMW gives you more options, for any taste you can find something, there is M3 and M3 Competition and M3 CS...there is AWD or RWD, manual or auto, Touring or Coupe or Cabrio versions...you can have even M performance so 340i which is very very good car...not to mention ALPINA versions...also BMW is good at strong diesels, 340d and 330d...all aboce is absent at Alfa, finally 325d/330i and 320d the Apfa has an answer...with Veloce models...that is why they do not sell amazingly, not enough offer...and then they are missing what BMW has with interior options in so many different upholster and colors and seat options...not to even mention Individual program.
      But yeah Alfa looks amazing outside, less inside...I like Alfa...but this time BMW is better (like always in the past when Alfas was underpowered amd fwd mostly)
      I am so sad that Giulia is finished with production this summer...and successor will be EV 👎

    People forget what sport sedans were originally about. They weren’t track weapons, they were liveable cars with a ton of performance. You’re not supposed to notice the difference because if you’re going fast enough that you need an M3s capabilities you’re losing your license. The reviewer says the M3 is more rewarding at 10/10ths. But this is a road review, I seriously doubt he got the car anywhere close to its limits.
    Taking delivery of a 2024 QV in a few weeks. Test drove the M3. I believe it when people say it would be faster than the Giulia on a track, although obviously I didn’t get to explore it at 10/10ths.
    But the big question is, how often are you able to track these cars? Every weekend? Maybe go M3. A few times a year or less? The Giulia is my pick. It’s a much more well rounded car, the ride isn’t punishing when in A or N mode. Even D is liveable. You’ve always got Race mode if you want a ton of fun. But you can’t really use it responsibly on public roads on a regular basis. And while the M3 is a better track car you also can’t use its capabilities on a regular basis.
    Tom Baker at Chasing Cars has a good comparison between the M3 and the Giulia and I think he gets it right. His take is also consistent with his view on the M550i as the actual modern successor to the M5. A liveable yet very fast and sporty sedan. You WANT a bit of roll in corners, this helps you feel the sensation of speed. If you’re flat you need to go ever faster to feel anything. That’s not what sport sedans should be about.

Alfa has nicely integrated the screen into the dashboard to maintain the old school sportive feeling. At least also Porsche does that. Also the front looks ugly with these huge “kidneys”. But of course the BMW is overall also a dream car. Of course Alfa’s infotainment system is outdated as it’s old. To me Alfa will always have a soul and will not just be car or a thing. 🍀

    Considering how much older the Alfa is in comparison yet still managing to compete with the BMW in 2024 is a testament to the brilliance of Alfa engineers (skunkworks) under Fiat Chairman Sergio Marchionne all those years ago. I think maybe reviews get super Salons wrong , the question they need to answer is can you put your entire family in the car and drive cross country and when everyone is asleep enjoy your drive. i don't want a stiff ride at 5 tenth cause that's normally where id be driving with the family, a super salon should have rounded edges it should not be track-capable or "Nurburgring" tested, I think ultimately that's why most people end up buying M5 or RS6 ,RS7 or the Giulia, basically I want a fast car that can comfortably carry the family, not race my thoughts any

      @AP-cc1uw 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@wasdwasdwwasd that’s not how it used to be. The M cars used to be great daily drivers, and yet still you could get the 335i or 535i beneath them. These M cars are too stiff. If the M3 had a suspension setting that was 20-30% softer than the current softest setting that would do it. But I wonder if it’s even possible given the weight.

    • @F1ll1nTh3Blanks
      @F1ll1nTh3Blanks 8 месяцев назад +5

      Why, if it's a super saloon it should also be track performance capable, that's what the "super" is for. If you don't need that performance then just go down a model and get an M340i or an M550i, they're way better looking, more comfortable, plenty fast enough in their own right and you save a fair chunk of money for the trouble..
      Why do you want the sportiest version available from launch and then complain when you have to make more compromises?

    • @minio4444
      @minio4444 8 месяцев назад +1

      By the “old” standards most of the mid range saloons are “super saloons”. You get 250bhp 2.0l petrol or diesel engines in basic specced models. 3.0l models are plenty quick enough for hauling your family and being quick enough to lose your license. The super saloon term evolved. You do not need them, you want or desire them. You can buy a house in parts of the UK for the m3 money. You don’t compare them to the m3s/m5s of old.

    Why does the M3 need so many adjustable drive modes? Top much tech , just because. Once one sets a car up, one rarely changes it. I prefer more analogue. I will take the Alfa Romeo please (as all true car lovers would).

      I don't want to spend half a day programming in the drive modes. I rather have expert Alfa engineer drivers to it as they can probably do it better than I. Maybe it would be fun to do that if I was a young techie.

    Personally I would opt for the BMW. The M division has years of experience and successes to support it, and then there is the legendary german quality and reliability. On top of that, I find the Alfa Quadrifoglio’s looks haven’t aged all that well. The car decidedly looks a good generation older than the BMW. But I’m sure the Alfa has its charm and the engine sings a nice song. 😎

      The real deal exhaust sound in the QV. The BMW artificial sounds bugs me to no end. It's dishonest and not authentic. The least BMW can do is provide a selection of artificial sounds perhaps sound of a playing card flicked by wheel spokes, rubber band airplane sound, etc.

      There is enough evidence to prove this statement false. E.g. the Giulia Quadrifoglio vs the F80 M3 (last gen) had lots of issues during that comparison. I had zero issues with my F80 M3 from 2017-2022 (could have went GQ but didn't) and recent new G80 M3 Competition for the past year and change.

    ALFA-ROMEO GIULIA QV. This thing may have Alfa-Romeo badges, but really, it's a 4-door Ferrari.
    TheGiulia's development was helmed by a former chief technical engineer from Ferarri.
    The all new 2.9l twin turbo V6 510hp engine was the exact same copy as the twin turbo V8 from the Ferrari California T, minus the two cylinders.
    Carbon fiber was used for the hood, roof, driveshaft, seats, and more, but all the aluminum parts that were used for 85% of the car were done. Where? Ferarri's foundry.
    The active aerodynamics were tuned in at Ferarri's F1 wind tunnel.
    The chassis, suspension, and driveline were also developed by Ferarri.
    After knowing all of the ubove, which of the two cars are more special and unique?

    I have a 2024 M3 Competition. It's by far the best car I've ever owned. The car drives like a family sedan when you're just zipping around town. But make no mistake. The moment you get on the accelerator on a straight line or coming out of a corner you're immediately reminded that you're in a proper M car. There's nothing better for the money imo.
