Always enjoy a set up video. Personally I’m deep in the madness and have been since I started riding in adulthood four years ago. But I’m relatively close to figuring out what works for me the best. By next summer I should have it dialled in and have worked through a stockpile of experimental gear I have acquired these past few years. Skatedeluxe in Germany lists width, length, wheel base, concave, shape, nose and tail length and sometimes even steepness of kicks. It’s not always on point and more often than not the numbers of tail + nose + wheel base + the room that exists between wheel base holes and the nose/tail don’t exactly add up but it’s usually pretty on point. It’s most often just the length not being listed as long as it should be when you total everything up. Then again even actual board brands that list their own numbers don’t even add up properly. But as far as being helpful when looking for a certain shape/size deck Skatedeluxe and Tactics in the US are great.
it's funny how I'm interested in getting one of these boards and then your video pops up. Happend the same way, when I thought about getting thunder lights lmao
For me, my board set up right now is perrrrfect and I'm going to be sad when it breaks: Element 8" Mark Appleyard trip out deck with 14.25" WB, Indy 144 Titaniums, 53mm OJ Elite Nomads 95a, Bronsens G3 bearings, and Mob grip. 53mm wheels, Mob, and Indy 144 titaniums - I'll never change! 😍 (Although thanks for the deets on the sale going on at PDs!)
I have always been interested in trying a Magenta deck. They seem to always be on sale. Currently my setup is a 8.38 skate mental. 149 indy hollows, 53mm bones stf with bronson raws.
Amazing video man, I found myself thinking of what i wanted to hear from you whether it being what exact trucks you are riding and your thoughts or where that skateshop is located and you just speak so clearly and concisely. Mega underrated creator and please keep up the specifics types of video on skateboards like Ben. I just bought a new twin tail as my second deck ever and some hollow light thunder 148s and your thoughts on them have eased my mind on if I made the right purchase. Your style and pop is amazing too and I am screen recording and slowmoing your flip tricks to help me learn.
Been riding a bunch of Palace Jamal Smith boards at 8.25, 31.5, with 14 wb for 1.5 years now. Just bought the debut Una Krooked deck that has just slightly diff dimensions tho at 8.28, 14.1 wb. Riding on venture lights too, so should be a fun new set up 👍🏽
Please do the kickflip tutorial! I have some serious board madness as well but always go back to the Real/Krooked 8.3” Twin Tail Slick. Paired with Thunder Hollow Lights 149’s I have a light set-up (I’m almost 48 years old) and I get a very good pop.
I’ve been all over the place for the past four years from 8” to 8.625” and wheel bases of 14” to 14.5”. Ridden Thunders, Ventures, Indies, Tensors and Ace AF1s. Bones, Spitfires and OJs of different kinds and Dragons. I got to thinking I needed to ride 8.5” with 14.5” wheel bases but since steppande down to 8.25” and 14.25” I’m finding those bigger decks to be extremely cumbersome. I think I’ve settled on 8.25” decks with a 14.25” wheel base. Since I like AF1s the best all round because they are just so buttery in every aspect I find that I need myself a relatively short tail. 6.75” tails just feel a tad too long and I prefer 6.5” ones if I can get ’em. If the tail gets too long it feels like I need extra height on the setup to make things feel like I get enough yield. It’s been a fun journey!
Magenta is a French deck? let us know how it is! They look sick. Alltimers is also one of my favourite decks I’ve ever skated… did it go soggy real quick on you? Mine lasted about 6 weeks before it went flat
Yup, French company. I’ve skated it about a week now and really liking it. Maybe I’ll make a video about the board and new trucks after skating then for a few weeks.
Ben Degros' main objective is to infect everyone with the "madness" 🤣

Setup vids don’t get old 😂
Haha, thanks dude. Glad ya'll like them.
Been on that same shape for months now. Theories of atlantis brands are all super solid imo.
Hyped for the street part! 🙌
heroin skateboards has a nice variety of shapes, and a good bit of info on each different one. 👍

The madness is real. I’ve been working on not trying new setups but I just can’t help myself.

Thank you for the kind words. Keep shredding dude.

Actually crailtap does it best with the whole page dedicated to explaining their shapes/molds
I agree, but they should put a link to their shape information on the actual product page.
@fiore_adriano yea for sure . Oh yea! they also just recently they added the shapes also in the filters now. Definitely makes it more user friendly
I'm also acting like I buy crail boards on the regular haha 😄
Magenta is dope!
Canada skate shop steep and sturdy 8.25 jessup grip thunder lights spitfire 53 mm lockins quantum bearings shortys hardware😎
What size are those thunder trucks ??
148
Do you ride Thunder´s stock bushings?
Yup!
What size thunders are you skating with the 8.25?
148's
Yea man I couldn't care less about the graphic. Measurements and shape are the only things that really matter.
ollie tutorial please but not a basic one one that actually teaches u how to perfect ur ollies
Honestly, I'm not that comfortable with my ollies. I can get over stuff but I don't really like my ollie or think it's that good.

Skate warehouse is a good website to buy boards
8.5 g039
149 Mindy
Spitfire classics 52
Really enjoying this setup, but been riding everything since late January, so the board is pretty soggy
I know what type of shape that I like and I just stick with that, I like DLX boards quite a bit
Can anyone let me know brands with the flattest concave please. Except baker, I absolutely hate the pointy nose and tiny tail.
Woah that shape is very pleasing, that looks like a really nice board!!
Forged without hollow axles - Titanium's?
Thunder lights👌
Get on tactics brother
