      not really. its more like a normal "modern" set up.
      a lot of Pros young pros ride bigger set ups.
      8.75 and up/ and get tech and gnarly on that type of set up. A lot of people are riding 58mm wheels and 60mm wheels and skating rails and stairs great.
      if anything a 8.25 set up looks weird
      small and counter productive. cant ride that in the streets that's for perfect cement.
      I do ride a bigger board in the streets and a smaller board on flat ground no rocks smooth cement only board.

    Hi! nice setup! nice wheels. The risers you bought are for "Venture Trucks" notice they have a "V" (green tag), the ones for "Thunder Trucks" have a "T" (blue tag), and the ones that are "Universal" have a "U" on the tag (yellow tag).

  • @CH-nz6ys
    @CH-nz6ys 4 месяца назад +3

    Real makes risers for Thunder and Venture. You have the risers made for Ventures. That's why they're not lining up right. I have both, and they line up perfectly with the right truck. Great risers. I'm definitely gonna get some of those 93a Spitfires. I'm glad they're finally making a softer durometer wheel. Thanks for the review.
    I can't imagine how different your setup must feel with an 8.75, 58's and 1/4" risers. That's a huge change. It's what I skate, but I'm an old timer that started in the 80s when we skated 1/2" risers and 60mm wheels. Your ollies and flip tricks look awesome, like you adjusted immediately.

    I ride the white Anti Hero 8.75 'cuz I got size 12 feet. I put Indy Stage 4 151 reissues with an extra washer on the inside on mine. Wish I coulda bought Ace AF1s but 8.75 is inbetween the 55s and 66s. I rode Stage 4s when they came out and the new Stage 4 reissues ride just like Ace AF1s, as I have AF1s on other set ups for that tight turn on transitions, so I'm familiar with both trucks. Never tried Thunder. I went from Bennett(plastic baseplates!🤬) in 1974 to Tracker to Indy and then to Ace after the 'Stage 9 sh!t show'(computer designed trucks), although Stage 11 is great and I've still always ridden Indy 215s on my 10" pool boards but now that Ace recently released the new 10" AF1 Model 80, I'm gonna have to try those for sure! Great video. Keep up the good work.

    Hey man. sick vid. One question: Would you say these wheels are good for a filmer setup? Looking for control and speed but particularly quietness. I don't like my actual filmer setup, with super soft cruiser wheels, because I can't catch up with the skater as he usually goes faster with his 99s. But it's super silent, which is nice on the mic. And as a skater I don't have the same control as with my usual 8.125/147s/53mm 99a. I.m planning on getting these wheels for a 8.25 setup with 148 thunders and riser pads. In this way I can also play around and do casual tricks on my filmer days. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Cheers!

    Just saying being your first time you are setting up a real board you over thought the setup. So risers if you try flipping the riser you would see that it fits properly and besides if you skate and do slide on your tail or nose any sticker or any thing like a riser hanging in the slide zone it will bite or slow your slide being a huge poser mistake but just speaking from skating for years and still throwing my tail and Ollie’s over the cooping and far grinds for a old dog I still love to skate and rails yes helps with your slide but truly was for grabs more and used more for reinforcing your deck making it almost bomb proof. And properly installed to the concave of your board and the grip that fit you will dictate the placement. So a board with a lot of concave the rails are useless because the rails will raise the edge the middle will exceed the rail unless you brin it in way to much the last thing you want is the middle draging and your rails are not sliding so that’s why street skates no longer rock rails now days
