  • My favourite board set up in 2024 and what I've been skating for almost a year now. Forgot to mention my griptape is Jessup but if I had a grip tape of choice it would be Alveer.
Check out the Skate Shop Website Guide and share it with your local skate shop if you want to help them thrive in 2024.

Thanks for upload. FWIW, no need to apologize for the sparse uploads with a product we aren't paying for. I'm now gonna hunt me down some Polar BBS decks. I miss the Wet Coast.

Watched this as I did my near-daily stretching routine.
Currently on 8" Colonialism (just learned last week that its made by BBS)
Ace Af1 (changed stock bushings to their hard version)
    Spitfire F4 Classic 52mm
    Jessup
7/8" Phillips profile hardware (I think Shorties)
I think this was one of your best videos yet. I want to see better skate shop websites and I believe your vision of wanting to cultivate a more meaningful shop/customer experience is definitely a step in the right direction.

Love the Gold, reminds me of late 90's early 2000 Ventures (before they sold off to Deluxe Dist.)

Any video with skating and board talk is great. The more skaters do that, the better it is to have an idea of a product, and fun.

Very nice! I kinda miss riding thunders. I’ve never tried the ones with the forged baseplate, but would definitely consider it next go around.
Currently bouncing back and forth between 8.38 and 8.5, usually Toy Machine because I like how mellow they are. Jessup grip on top, and then 5.8 Ventures just the standards, and I re-drill the baseplates slightly forward so they pretty much sit closer too where Indy’s do. 55mm Pig Wheels conicals 97a, usually 53-56mm Spitfires 99a conical/classics though. Bearings are a mix of Reds, and Minni Logos, I usually pick up one or the other every time I switch wheels out.

I got a Toy Machine Jeremy Leabres 8.13 deck with pepper grip, independent allen 7/8 bolts, Independent Slayer Forged Hollow 139, Bones Stf V3 TJ Rogers 52mm, Andale Swiss bearings. I am also skating the Converse Louie Lopez shoe and man I'm really liking this whole setup. I stepped down from a 8.25 because I felt it was messing with my tricks. The 8.13 took some time to get use to but once I did I feel that it's a perfect fit and I feel more on top of my game with this new setup.

Good luck for 2024, hopefully your channel and your business will grow. My wife is freelancing as a painting artist and I recognize how hard it is to stand out from the crowd. I think its good to think about the ‘whats in it for me’ for people. Tips, reviews and opinions always work well for me to get me stoked. Btw currently riding a Real 8.25 with Thunder 148 Lights and SF F4 52mm 🙂✌🏻

I got an 8” chrononaut board with 14” wheelbase and its 31.625” long, standard old indy stage 11 i think, they are 139s and still has the cross on the baseplate, in the trucks i have some blue thunders stock bushings, i ride them with 4threads showing om the back truck and 3 threads showing on the front truck. My wheels are spitfires 50mm 101a, i got some bones superred bearings and 7/8 hardware.

In the 2000s, almost all of us rode tight trucks. It was simply because the best skater from our small town was a street skater and we didn't have internet :D And as it happens, we've all copied the best lmao

This have been my main setup for awhile too, but with thunder raws. The Polar decks are a little random tho. Sometimes its actually 14.25 WB. They are also generic BBS shape, so nose and tail I find are often flatter than DLX. Which I also like! More chill pop

    • @fiore_adriano
      @fiore_adriano  5 месяцев назад +1

Yeah, for sure. Not mad at the generic shape tbh

Indy is my favorite hardware. I like 1-1 1/8” bc I run risers sometimes. Phillips. I think looking down at Allen bolts would be distracting. I’ve actually never owned a set of spitfires, I like a rounded edge but classics are too narrow for me. I like the tipping point but I’d rather get radials and narrower trucks. I don’t like my axle nuts exposed.

I always put Krux white bushings in my thunders and they are amazing. I would bet its a similar feeling, but a barrel bushing on the bottom instead of a cone.

I’m a bigger guy, 6’3, 230, size 11.5ish shoe. I’m 41yo and also grew up with 7.5-7.75” boards for a bit. I’m all over the place now but usually 8-8.25” up to 8.38-8.5” on popsicles and 9.25”+ on shapes. I’ve been grabbing completes off of fb marketplace so it gets me to try gear I might not choose for myself otherwise, but prices I can’t pass up. I just got one for fifteen bucks with 148 thunder forged hollow lights. I’ve held a grudge with thunder since the nineties and wouldn’t have tried them otherwise. First impressions are alright though dainty, and obviously substandard to Indy and venture.

Currently struggling to get out and skate with the rain but I’ve got myself an 8.5” Toy Machine with standard Ace AF1s set up currently. 8.25” is about as low as I feel I can go with my 11.5 shoes.

I didn't like thunders no matter what bushings i put in them. They always seem to be pulling to one side. I switched to ventures over a year ago and haven't looked back. BTW titanium ventures came with clear bushings they seem harder than the purple ones they normally come with.
