DR. YOUSEFIAN KEY TERMINOLOGY
DAME (Distraction Assisted Mandibular Expansion) = mandibular distraction similar to MSDO
MANE (Micro-implant Assisted Nasomaxillary Expansion) = maxillary distraction similar to MSE
DONE (Distraction Osteogenesis Nasomaxillary Expansion) = MSE-like expander that also does dentoalveolar advancement
ApnoMed - Dr. Yousefian’s company (which develops his proprietary appliances)
ApnoTX - sleep apnea appliance designed for use during skeletal expansion
ApnoDent - more basic sleep apnea appliance
Very interesting work this Doctor is doing. My only comment is if that was me I'd get a facemask to pull the maxilla forward. His only problem is his maxilla is still not forward enough. If his maxilla was more forward he would literally look like a model. I see this all the time, the doctors expand and all that but the maxilla is still not far forward enough when the treatment is done. Like I said, I have no doubt this guy could have the face of a model like Sean O'pry if they just brought his maxilla forward. Put some miniscrews into his palate and use a reverse pull headgear to bring his maxilla forward and he would look like a model, no doubt.

This is really interesting. Thank you for doing such a fantastic job in your research and informing us on these topics. I've tried to search more info on this procedure on Dr Yousefian channel but couldn't find much or any. I wonder how much DAME costs roughly to get idea. Regards and thanks again!
I'm guessing that a full treatment package that includes DAME would be in the $20K ballpark.

How much this doctor charge for MSE and DAME only?
In a prior video, you recommended someone with an underbite MSE. I thought that MSE only expands outwards. How does it help bring the upper jaw forward?
MSE isn’t forwards expansion but it can move the medulla forward a bit
MSE + facemask can move the maxilla forward since MSE distracts the sphenoid suture as well

Hello, do you guys have any tips on how to keep my jaws shut during sleep? I mean I tape my lips, so I breathe through my nose, but when I fall asleep, the muscle tension is gone and my tweets are not touching at all times, often I wake up and notice my teeth are a few mm apart, which is bad according to orthotropics.
You can buy a chin strap on Amazon that holds your mouth closed if the tape isn’t working.
Your teeth aren't suppose to be touching when sleeping, awake or even chewing. By not touching, it puts the jaw in a relaxed position where it should be.Teeth touching one another could lead to TMJ issues. When their is tension on your jaw while sleeping it could lead to teeth grinding which like apnea/ hypopnea affects sleep plus tooth decay. Your lips should barely be touching one another when mouth taping. Chin straps are no good because it puts to much tension on the jaw.

It it a very slow process, you have to practice the habit of having your mouth closed during the day and tape every night until you get it naturally. You may had this bad habit during the entire life, so obvius it's going to be hard to fix it.
@@marlonalbuquerque8941 If you were mouth breather since early childhood and didn't start mouth taping to sleep well into your 50's, it becomes so conditioned in your brain that at least for me will never become automatic. When Im awake now that's a different story. With alot of practice, I have taught myself to nasal breathe when I run and exercise and now have more stamina and energy thru out my entire run.
