The problem, especially in the US, with the prosperity gospel is that it doesn't actually look like something new (because, other than the ability for these charlatans to easily grow their personality cults due to societal and technological changes, nothing is). As such, these prosperity preachers and their personality cults get considered as apparently orthodox Christianity rather than some heretical twisting of the gospel. Which is understable given that Theologians of glory have infested the church all the time (the disciples even engage in it straight after every time Jesus talks about his upcoming death in Mark's gospel - Peter says that Jesus is wrong that he'll die, they all squabble about which of them is the best, and James and John name and claim the seats next to Jesus in his kingdom). So in the UK, where the prosperity gospel isn't a high profile heresy, and evangelical is a doctrinal position rather than a cultural grouping, we have a fair few Gen X/late Boomer Christian women who stumble upon Joyce Meyer and her material, which they then ingest because they view her as similar to them, but 20-40 years older: successful, female, 'evangelical'. If they knew her as 'prosperity preaching televangelist' rather than 'evangelical', they wouldn't have gone anywhere near her.

But, because of not rightly dividing the word, many pastors, and in fairness, Christians themselves, not knowing the word or not rightly dividing it, have come to the place where they're afraid of money(limiting what God can do through them) and demonize those who do have finances. It seems they forget, God calls us to help the poor. But how can we help the poor, if we are the poor? Therefore God makes this promised to us when we give. (2Corinthians 9:8) says "God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and (more), so that there will not only be enough for your (own needs) but plenty left over, to give joyfully to others. It is as the scriptures say, "The godly man gives generously to the poor, his good deeds will be an honour to him forever"(Laid up in heaven). Now notice the next verse, when you give financially, God not only lays up your good deeds in heaven, but he sends you more seed. Notice the next verse: v10) "God, who gives seed to the farmer to plant and later on good crops to harvest and eat(your needs). Will give you (more and more) seed to plant and will make it grow so that you can give away more and more from your harvest. (Every seed after its own kind) this is God's spiritual law and the reason God encourages us to give financially(give and it shall be given back to you, pressed down shaken together and running over)these are not my words, these are the words of Jesus, and I have found over the years, I have been unable to outgive God. I give here and there, and it comes back to me from here, and there.(running over) God says what he means and means what he says. It’s really easy to spot most of these guys. If they live better than the mean of their own congregation, run. I currently live in a VERY wealthy community (Coronado, California) our pastor lives rent free in the Mans (Kirk House). True he only lives on TWO of the three floors of this historic mansion donated to the church over 100 years ago, but still it’s pretty nice. He has lived there for nearly 30 years and often opens it up for church functions and even hosts church visitors and foster kids. Time and again, he has expressed consternation over the fact that he literally lives in a mansion at an island resort town. But it is the closest home to the church and it was donated for this purpose.

The problem, especially in the US, with the prosperity gospel is that it doesn't actually look like something new (because, other than the ability for these charlatans to easily grow their personality cults due to societal and technological changes, nothing is).
As such, these prosperity preachers and their personality cults get considered as apparently orthodox Christianity rather than some heretical twisting of the gospel. Which is understable given that Theologians of glory have infested the church all the time (the disciples even engage in it straight after every time Jesus talks about his upcoming death in Mark's gospel - Peter says that Jesus is wrong that he'll die, they all squabble about which of them is the best, and James and John name and claim the seats next to Jesus in his kingdom).
So in the UK, where the prosperity gospel isn't a high profile heresy, and evangelical is a doctrinal position rather than a cultural grouping, we have a fair few Gen X/late Boomer Christian women who stumble upon Joyce Meyer and her material, which they then ingest because they view her as similar to them, but 20-40 years older: successful, female, 'evangelical'. If they knew her as 'prosperity preaching televangelist' rather than 'evangelical', they wouldn't have gone anywhere near her.
Si Hollett You bet. However although it's true they stumbled upon it and followed, I agree with your prior assertion. This is nothing new to the Christian Church, these are the wolves Christ warned us about. And so we just hold fast to the Law and Gospel.

I simply asked them what the holiday was called in their native tongue, as I knew it wasn't English and it was only German (which they weren't) that was the other European language where the term for the holy days around Jesus's death and resurrection wasn't derived from the Jewish festival of Pesach. Of course, given these JWs were anti-Semitic, that backfired and Jewish origins was somehow worse than Pagan.
Eggs are due to them amassing over Lent when the fast meant you didn't eat them so you used to eat loads Easter Sunday because they were there. Rabbits are like Santa - a secular myth shoehorned in. Neither have anything to do with religious services or ceremonies at Easter.

Don't lay up treasures on Earth, you took that to mean money, but when Jesus says (treasure) he means (anything) (that you treasure) above God, true, a man's treasure might be money, but it could also be, his treasure is his wife, a man's treasure might be his children, a man's treasure might be his position in life, or his education, his strength, his looks, a man's treasure is anything he treasures. Jesus is not saying, don't have a wife, don't have children, don't have an influential job, likewise neither is he saying don't have money. Jesus was simpl(reminding us) don't put anything ahead of God.let God be your treasure and everything else your blessings. It is not wrong to have money, it is when money (has you) that it becomes wrong. Having money is not wrong, putting it ahead of God is what's wrong. Notice (1st Timothy 6:10) that has been misquoted,and misunderstood by so many pastors, they teach "Money is the root of all evil" but that's not what God Said! God said notice: (1Timothy 6:10) "The (love) of money is the root of all evil" God did not say that money was evil, he said the (love) of money (putting it before God) is evil (making it your treasure, above God) is evil. But so is putting your wife ahead of God evil, or putting your children ahead of God evil. Does that mean a man should not have a wife, or children? No. So then, neither does it mean that it's wrong to be wealthy. Again it is not wrong to have wealth, it's when the wealth has you, when it becomes first place in your life, that whats wrong. (not the money itself). Solomon had so much wealth from God, arguably he has not been surpassed to this day, David (a man after God's own heart) was extremely wealthy, God made Abraham (the father of faith) so wealthy,that he had to split from lot, for the land could not contain their wealth.(Genesis 13:2) says "And Abram was very rich in cattle, and in silver, and gold" so it cannot be wrong to have wealth, since God made these men, extremely wealthy, if it was wrong to be wealthy, God would not have made them wealthy. But, because of not rightly dividing the word, many pastors, and in fairness, Christians themselves, not knowing the word or not rightly dividing it, have come to the place where they're afraid of money(limiting what God can do through them) and demonize those who do have finances. It seems they forget, God calls us to help the poor. But how can we help the poor, if we are the poor? Therefore God makes this promised to us when we give. (2Corinthians 9:8) says "God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and (more), so that there will not only be enough for your (own needs) but plenty left over, to give joyfully to others. It is as the scriptures say, "The godly man gives generously to the poor, his good deeds will be an honour to him forever"(Laid up in heaven). Now notice the next verse, when you give financially, God not only lays up your good deeds in heaven, but he sends you more seed. Notice the next verse: v10) "God, who gives seed to the farmer to plant and later on good crops to harvest and eat(your needs). Will give you (more and more) seed to plant and will make it grow so that you can give away more and more from your harvest. Now go to 2Corinthians 9 verse 6 "But this I say he that soweth sparingly, shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully, shall reap also bountifully" this is the same thing Jesus taught in (Luke 6:38) "Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure pressed down and shaken together and (running over) shall men give into your bosom" Jesus did not teach give and you shall become poorer(just the opposite) Jesus said when you give, it will be given back to you. I realize Christians main purpose in giving( is not to get, but to help), but God himself said(when you give, you will receive, and God is not a man that he should lie. (Genesis 1:11) teaches us "Every seed after its own kind" no one plants tomato seeds, and gets only one tomato, for in that tomato are many more seeds. And no one plants tomatoes, and gets onions. (Every seed after its own kind) this is God's spiritual law and the reason God encourages us to give financially(give and it shall be given back to you, pressed down shaken together and running over)these are not my words, these are the words of Jesus, and I have found over the years, I have been unable to outgive God. I give here and there, and it comes back to me from here, and there.(running over) God says what he means and means what he says. "Test me in this, says the Lord of hosts and see if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for you to contain it" (Malachi 3:10). I know this was quite lengthy, but the Bible says to prove everything by two or three witnesses (from the holy scriptures). I currently live in a VERY wealthy community (Coronado, California) our pastor lives rent free in the Mans (Kirk House). True he only lives on TWO of the three floors of this historic mansion donated to the church over 100 years ago, but still it’s pretty nice.
He has lived there for nearly 30 years and often opens it up for church functions and even hosts church visitors and foster kids.
Time and again, he has expressed consternation over the fact that he literally lives in a mansion at an island resort town. But it is the closest home to the church and it was donated for this purpose.
My husband had just been sending me crazy clips of this guy. Crazy funny and scary at the same time.

Appart from that, I'm Orthodox Christian, we've known about the muslim problem for more than a millennium.
One day Satan had a meeting with the demons in Hell and the question on everyone's lips was "How do we get people to worship us? Not in the Church of Satan 'only as a mascot for our ideology' way, I mean actual worship?"
Satan turned to one of the demons who asked this question and said "Dude, I got this."

Most people do not know how to pray or who to pray to...
We the believers (the saints) pray to our God the Father through our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ and we know that our prayers are answered. We walk by faith and not by sight. (This requires understanding as one matures in the word of God).

I was an unbeliever once and I cried out to the God that made the heavens and the earth and He heard me and had compassion on me and show me His truth and saved me (in more ways than I will ever know). All glory goes to God my Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ.
You can get prayers answered through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
