    Creds for pointing out that with attachment you can hit without seeing!
    Most people have the self awareness to touch another part of the body without looking. So if the vision is impared for some reason you can feel/sense with one hand and strike with the other. Lets say you put a hand over the aggressors face and then you strike with your other hand aiming for where your first hand is (then removing the firrst hand just before the second hit ofc).
    Training at times blindfolded (or even better in the pitch black) only relying on other senses is only beneficial for most people but it is not that common to do 🙂

    You can also use a low kick to the knee against the second aggressor to at least cause them to flinch. Anything that works really, wherever there s an opening. Thank you for being an inspiration!!!

    At one point, the attacker was in position for a perfect sweep caused by a strong leg kick to the back of the knee by the defender. So sometimes, your attacker opens themselves up more by stepping offline.

      If it works for you it’s legit! If the individual would still stand after the beat down this could be a perfect thing to do indeed!👍🏻👍🏻

    The turning while a second attacker comes in play with a kind of spinning (offline) hammerfist is a very good tool in my humble opinion. You clear the space in case the attacker is throwing a punch and you have good power because of the body dynamic/ rotation.
    Michiel would you recommend to change from hammerfist beatdown to the knee strike takedown if the attacker is turning/steps out of the line? Like if you land the big slap right and he is out range. Or he 'gives' you the side for an incidental strike.
    What do you think?

    • @schoolofselfprotection
      @schoolofselfprotection  11 месяцев назад +3

      Oh absolutely. If I can do that I would branch to low line attack. This drill was more of a re-active/footwork kinda drill.

    Why dont you kick? In self defense range is very important and with legs you got the range advance is you can kick. Also a kick to solar plexus or near liver/liver will almost certainly end all attacks. ALso with 2 attackers all I can see in my mind that I would give him a side kick immediately to drop him or at least buy some time.

      Kicks only low-line (groin or low-kicks,shin kicks).
      Because of adrenaline your limbs are shaking.
      The environment is never flat and ideal in real life. (Curbs, cans, trash, slippery surface)
      I don’t want to stand one 1 leg in this dynamic. Also remember you never fight one on one. Plus weapons are involved. I try to do anything to avoid going in a fight or to the ground . If you have kicking range you have enough range to: run! I would use kicks in Security context. Push kicks or low kicks. But not teaching this to people who need to deal with some subject(s) stronger than them.

      @@schoolofselfprotection Yea, I think I talking about myself since Im very experienced in kicking so it comes naturally. Not that I fight with people in real life and yea the ground can be impossible to kick "safely". I do a lot of sparring and legs is just so much superior in that context but you must master the kicks. Ive kicked so much that it just comes aturally but true when I see beginners sometimes its sad to see how bad people mobility actually is and then kicking make no sense or is impossible. Idont know, I hae just always loved kicking espacially side kick and roundhouse to the leg. There is just something speacial in sidekick, for me, haha.
      Have a good one mate!

    The greatness of this technique is that most people who are stupid enough to start a fight will not be able to handle that smoke. Nor will they even think that it’s coming because it is a very unique way of hitting people unlike just regular boxing punches
