Me, on normal: "Shit, I need to plan out my defense with multiple layers using all static defenses the best I can, I'm barely holding" Lowko, on brutal: "Yeaaaaaah I'll just put down a nexus here"
"without the Uraj and the Kalis, this will take some time" I love this line from Artanis, it's a callback to the broodwat campaign, where it centered around collecting these two crystals to purge the Zerg invasion of Shakuras
Fake News! Australia doesn't exist (according to Flat Earthers). ROFL, what a bunch of fuckwits. Why is it that the stupidest people always seem to be the most sure they're right?
X3C yeah, blowing up the last world.for the protoss shouldn't be so dramatic. Just another day in the life, no need to make it so DrAmAtIC blizzard sheesh
Me: "I've stayed awake for almost 3 days to get my assignment done. Time to go bed" Lowko: *Uploads LotV campaign play through* Me: "Well, sleep can wait."
>went full Nerazim >used Dragoons Lowko is Lowko. Also, THEY ARE BILLIONS. Oh, and psi-blade projectors like one Artanis picked up after Zeratul are called glaives.
Hi Lowko, just letting you know that if a character having "New conversation", it means there's a cutscene, but other characters who don't have that also have some unique dialog, and they do change from mission to mission, I do think it's worth to click around and listening to other dialogs too, help to understand each character. even Artanis. and they have more than 1 dialog for each mission as well :D
canebro1 nexuses don’t cost gas too. Also managed to get the achievements by walling off the entrances with nexuses and using solar lance to slowly weaken the zenith stones. When the guards are dead, send in army and complete the walls once all stones are destroyed. The only real problems are the hybrid at the back entrance. Mass monolith plus shadow cannons made short work of the hybrid and fliers.
Yep, all the gas goes to monoliths. The back entrance is the weak point. I went for a squad of dragoons, but the immortal shadow cannon is probably a better option.
Easily one of if not my favourite cinematic in LotV, the soliloquy of Zeratul mixed with how Artanis (and the rest of the OG templar with severed nerve cords) are basically Dark Templars now is just chilling. And cool guys NEVER look at explosions!
Yep they couldn't use the temple again to destroy the zerg since they used the two crystals "Uraj" and "khalas"(not sure about their exact name) in SC1 so now the only choice they had was to destroy the entire Shakuras.
Yep they couldn't use the temple again to destroy the zerg since they used the two crystals "Uraj" and "khalas"(not sure about their exact name) in SC1 so now the only choice they had was to destroy the entire Shakuras.
Robert Popa They were unique crystals imbuned with the powers of the khalai and nerazim respectively, they weren't used up in the use of the temple during brood war but they were lost at some point during the attack on Shakuras. Which makes sense, since Amon knew they existed and would've gone straight for them
"But none of us are ever truly alone..." Nerazim with their individuality and the Khalani with their coletivity... Tal'darim with their ruthlessness and Purifiers are amazing with their internal conflict of personalities. Protoss are awesome !
I discovered this channel more than one year ago but I only saw a few weeks ago that you did a full playthrough of Starcraft games. Just wanted to tell you one thing about why I LOVE the cutscene with Artanis after this mission. I'm 16 right now and I grew with Starcraft games, my father and my brothers, all of them played Starcraft so when I was 7, I discovered the first game and Broodwar, then I played SC2 and I've played SC2 campaigns at least 5 times. When I discovered Artanis in Starcraft 1, I loved this character, and I don't know how but I felt like I knew he would become very important in the story. And even if I don't like the SC2 storyline very much (especially from Heart of the Swarm, I'm fine with WoL), watching this cinematic, this very one, was absolutely great : I was like "I KNEW IT, GET 'EM ARTANIS MY BOYYYYYYY" xD His evolution through the games is incredible and loving him since his first appearance until the end was even more wonderful. He's easily my favourite Blizzard character even if I have been a huge Overwatch fan. Just wanted to tell you how I love this character, and how I love watching discovering the storyline of Starcraft. (Plus it's been a really long time since I haven't played Starcraft 1 and Broodwar, thanks for refreshing my memory)
I love that you get to revisit the Shakuras temple from Brood War. Also they showed the planet exploding in the trailers for Legacy of the Void but it kind of left you assuming that Amon was blowing it up.
4:21 I love that he said interllect. It's basically like your best friend insulting you saying you're dumb, and you respond as a joke. "I have so many interllect in my brain."
I like how years ago when you first played this Lowko you only managed to get just a bit over 1 Billion and now you smashed it. You really have improved :D
I highly recommend Temporal Field for any mission where you don't need to remotely destroy something, especially when you get Dark Archons for mind control.
The damage is not too bad. As long as the foundations are still strong, we can rebuild this place. It will become a haven for all peoples and aliens of the universe. 39:25
Hi Lowko! In case you don't know, this scene is actually called the Shadow Walk. A ritual of the Nerazhim to achieve the mantle of Dark Templar, something like a coming of age ritual. I personally first read about it in one of the books Starcraft: Queen of Blades(Raynor tried to go rescue Kerrigan when she first got captured by the Zerg, meeting Zeratul and Tassadar). Fun fact, Tassadar has also gone through this Shadow Walk ritual although his is definitely less harrowing considering the Shadow Walk is not typically executed with the intent to kill but rather a show of mastery over one's abilities. So technically, our boy Artanis here is now a Dark Templar. Also, he is the only person other than Tassadar to have done the Shadow Walk. Although we don't really see them use the abilities of the warp(?) unless... Spoiler Alert for future campaign missions... I will only spoil if Lowko allows me to..
I really like the details of this mission. Everything on Shakuras has fallen to Amon, except this temple... you have free sight around the whole area. And suddenly, more and more of the field of view goes darker and darker, until the point, where you can only see your base on the temple's platform.... i find it so sad, frightening and stylish OwO
On this map Nexus overcharge is a must have, you also have to use nexuses for walling the ramps, any other buildings just die from a small rush and other than that, you you go full immortal-dragoon, maybe some zealots/templars.
adding nexi and forges to block the ramp can actually be quite good as for some reasons the enemies won't attack these as frequently while there are still stationary defenses around it.
Something you do not know until later on when you get to play Artanis himself in a dungeon-crawler mission..That ability Artanis used in the cinematic, where he overloads his own Khaydarin crystals and then unleashes his own psionic shockwave, is his self-ressurection ability. In the most technical sense, Artanis just *died* and used his long-cooldown self-ressurection ability. One of my favorite things about Artanis is his righteous fury beyond death.
The outro video is so amazing! He goes like: "Guys I am just pretending to be a Zealot... I fact I am in fact a High Templar! Here have a bit of Storm guys!"
So good , Lowko have you seen the Daelaam Artanis Skin in HOTS is so good , Severed nerv cords , Zeratul psyblade and zerg blood , i think its a direct reference to the last cutescene
I also found the nerazim warrior and the dark temp were a good combination instead of zealot and dark temp; instead of two troop types that have a "spin" damage move, one has a stun status effect and his buddy comes in with the spin attack. Very effective.
The nexi make a good wall with the overcharge, and then you can load up on shield batteries, photon cannons, and kydarian monoliths behind them. You can hold for quite a while when you do that
I found the best combination was with the warp on reinforcements and the gate tech robotics & stargates. I found it very succesful to drop a forward position pylon and ground forces for free and then use mined resources to warp in a bunch of high tier units at the same area.
Some guy on youtube reached 3.3 billion in brutal (no cheat ofc) by learning specific placements for his cannons and monoliths. He uses the Shadow Blade ability on small groups of Dark Templars to damage the enemy units and then let the cannons tank. I invite you to go see it, it's quite impressive
I go back and forth on whether I like warp in reinforcements or chrono surge more. I picked chrono surge for this map and had the nerazim immortals. Being able to get 4 immortals out in just a few seconds is OP AF. Also, temporal field is strong being able to lock down multiple armies.
it makes one curious how protoss fall in love... will they say... "your flat face is beautiful? or "your glowing eyes is rather dashing?" LOVE ME!!!!!!
the thing about this mission is, the protoss could have used it the same way they did last time, and clensed shakuras of zerg, mopped up the hybrid if they survived and either done the whole thing again or just disassembled/shut down the gate to auir again.
Lowko: What if Amon decides to respond to this and blows up Aiur instead? Amon: and I oop- Damn lowko, you would've been a better amon than amon LOLOLOL
guy that works for blizzard : how can we take canon rush to the next level ? the guy who makes updates : *drinks 10 cans of bear* lets make naxuses shot
The mastery achievement requires to hold out for 2.2billion on hard, needless to say, for me, everything was going fine at ~2b, and then everything started falling apart, the achievement was unlocked, but the dimensional warp cutscene only pulled ~5 surviving probes while hybrid and zerg killed the remaining structures :/
Shakuras' last words:
Mr. Aiur, I don't feel so good...
SwenglishGamer dat sick burn
😂😂
i get that reference
oh my god get out of here before I hulk out O_O
Feelbreaker.
Death star is now unemployed... poor thing...
9:19 "WE'LL GO FULL NERAZIM!"
*leaves a daelaam dragoon
BTW I'd like to see mass Nexus in the next static defense mission
As far as I remember the next defense mission is the last mission of the campaign
He meant the unit composition he was planning to go for.
"ah cool guys don't look at explosions" ...
"They blow shit up and they walk away!"
Warp away*
Me, on normal:
"Shit, I need to plan out my defense with multiple layers using all static defenses the best I can, I'm barely holding"
Lowko, on brutal:
"Yeaaaaaah I'll just put down a nexus here"
"without the Uraj and the Kalis, this will take some time" I love this line from Artanis, it's a callback to the broodwat campaign, where it centered around collecting these two crystals to purge the Zerg invasion of Shakuras
Easily one of my favorite cinematics in the whole game. Love you Lowko!
Love from Australia!
Fake News! Australia doesn't exist (according to Flat Earthers).
ROFL, what a bunch of fuckwits.
Why is it that the stupidest people always seem to be the most sure they're right?
I M Ofage Well, they are called the most stupid for a reason.
Angelo kouros the cinematic looks great but I hate the plot point. Blowing up shakuras felt so dramatic.
X3C yeah, blowing up the last world.for the protoss shouldn't be so dramatic. Just another day in the life, no need to make it so DrAmAtIC blizzard sheesh
Should we tell Lowko that Winter got to 2.2 billion (the mastery achievement) on brutal?
nah
It would break their relationship,so no.
Was looking for this.
Well, winter takes advises from twitch chat grandmasters so yeah.
Estelle Bright Well I don't blame him given he was doing the achievement race. You may as well take the advice than work it yourself
“Let’s go full nerazim”
Keeping the dragoon
Classic lowko
I guess that all Zergs and Hybrids on Shakuras didn't felt so good...
P.S. Also, the cinematic after this mission is god-tier!
Mine too
Only toppled by Kerrigan’s rescue of Jimmy and Zeratul’s death
The scene is only toppled by zeratuls death scene
Me: "I've stayed awake for almost 3 days to get my assignment done. Time to go bed"
Lowko: *Uploads LotV campaign play through*
Me: "Well, sleep can wait."
Steven Phan you..... I like you
Sleep is for the weak!
What an original comment ._.
You can sleep when you're dead! Starcraft is priority!
>went full Nerazim
>used Dragoons
Lowko is Lowko. Also, THEY ARE BILLIONS.
Oh, and psi-blade projectors like one Artanis picked up after Zeratul are called glaives.
its call warp blade thnks me later.
Thanks :)
glaves are what muttalisks shoot
38:45 That feeling in PvZ when your psi storm finishes

That cinematics with Zeratool's teachings echoing behind..... One of the best ingame cinematics, with some of the most badass Artanis action.
9:15 "Let's go full Nerazim" ends up not picking up Stalkers.......
(after ending cinematic) TRY CALL HIM CRINGETANIS NOW :D !!!
ComissarYarrick
badAsstanis
"your fallen people cry out for vengeance"
cringetanis 2k18
Zeratul is the one taking in the cinematic
Lowko building static defense? IT'S MY DREAM COME TRUE! YES LOWKO!
Although the placement is NOT OPTIMAL! *OCDs out*
YES! It pains me. Why do so many great players not care about good building placement?
Yeah, although this map doesn't have much room for my shield battery, double cannon and monolith V formation like it does in coop.
You can also use your Nexus as static defense. That is how I was able to get the mastery achievement, mass Nexus. Weird but also very effective.
canebro1 nexuses don’t cost gas too. Also managed to get the achievements by walling off the entrances with nexuses and using solar lance to slowly weaken the zenith stones. Ohh, do you guys remember when we used the temple to save Shakuras ? Its sad tht we have to destroy it now.
Yep they couldn't use the temple again to destroy the zerg since they used the two crystals "Uraj" and "khalas"(not sure about their exact name) in SC1 so now the only choice they had was to destroy the entire Shakuras.

A Random Guy tho I am not shure if the crystals are unique, maybe.
Robert Popa their names seem unique I guess xD

One of the most epic cutscenes in any game ever, Artanis and the overloading of the Xel'Naga temple.
Single most bad ass cinematic in the StarCraft universe!
Lowko holding out for 1.804B on brutal like a boss!
I discovered this channel more than one year ago but I only saw a few weeks ago that you did a full playthrough of Starcraft games. Just wanted to tell you one thing about why I LOVE the cutscene with Artanis after this mission.

When you had a button to destroy Shakuras, did you feel like an American President?
Orifices...
Finding Izsha a nose was the running gag of Heart of the Swarm...
Now showing off orifices to Rohana is the running gag here.
I got a few orifaces I'd like to show her XD
I love that you get to revisit the Shakuras temple from Brood War.
Also they showed the planet exploding in the trailers for Legacy of the Void but it kind of left you assuming that Amon was blowing it up.
4:21
I love that he said interllect.
It's basically like your best friend insulting you saying you're dumb, and you respond as a joke.
"I have so many interllect in my brain."
4:20 "interlect"... Lowko, you're proving Karax's point.
21:00 I'm having flashbacks to Lowko's Brood War "doom drop"
Ah... The glory of exterminatus.
Shakuras: "Oh god I'm occupied by the zerg."
Aiur: "OH YOU THINIK YOU'VE BEEN OCCUPIED BY THEM FOR THAT LONG?!"
Zeraus: "Oh hey guys."
I like how years ago when you first played this Lowko you only managed to get just a bit over 1 Billion and now you smashed it. You really have improved :D
37:15 that speech still gives me chills
Lowko and static defense this should be interesting.
"Lets go full nerazim" leaves the dragon on instead of stalker a key nerazim unit
"Let's play full Narazim" and still have Dragoon.
9:16 "Let's go full Nerazim", leaves dragoons selected
"Let's go full Nerazim!" *Does* *not* *take* *Stalker* , my ocd is tingling.
Definetely my favorite cutscene in the entire Starcraft franchise!
I highly recommend Temporal Field for any mission where you don't need to remotely destroy something, especially when you get Dark Archons for mind control.
The damage is not too bad. As long as the foundations are still strong, we can rebuild this place. It will become a haven for all peoples and aliens of the universe.
39:25
Lowco 2018: I don't play static defense.
Lowco 2 months later: 34:14
A new campaign vid from Lowko! My life just got a little brighter.
You speak so well I can put this to 1,5 speed and still understand you perfectly. Nice vid :)

"Making them even more lethal than before"
*thinks about starcraft 1 dark templars and zeratols 100 damage attack*
I really like the details of this mission. Everything on Shakuras has fallen to Amon, except this temple... you have free sight around the whole area. 24:06 Did you just assume the probe’s gender?
so ... is it that important?
No, just that Probius sounds like a male name for me.
LowkoTV Your vidoes have become part of my morning routine. Wake up, , watch new Lowko video while drinking coffee.
I still get chills watching the artanis scene as well as some tears because of zeratul
Something you do not know until later on when you get to play Artanis himself in a dungeon-crawler mission..That ability Artanis used in the cinematic, where he overloads his own Khaydarin crystals and then unleashes his own psionic shockwave, is his self-ressurection ability.

Vorasun: the tsundere waifu
syn blades she is far from that.
Estelle Bright maybe she isn’t waifu but she is definitely tsundere
I'm gonna be bummed out when these are over. This is better than most shows on Netflix
The nexi make a good wall with the overcharge, and then you can load up on shield batteries, photon cannons, and kydarian monoliths behind them. You can hold for quite a while when you do that
At the end, Artanis did the typical “walking away from massive expulsion looking cool”
I found the best combination was with the warp on reinforcements and the gate tech robotics & stargates. I found it very succesful to drop a forward position pylon and ground forces for free and then use mined resources to warp in a bunch of high tier units at the same area.
Lowko Your gonna love going to the next planet when you get the centries their upgrade is amazing.
f00dify
Lowko already played through the LotV campaign. He already knows energizers are pretty good.
I was going to say, an all-Nexus strategy is actually completely valid and effective.
Love your playthroughs, I just replayed some LotV missions again because of this.
Huh, I'm actually caught up. Neat. Good to see your enjoying the game as usual
Those cut scene and cinematic though !!
The 11 kill nexus was a master stroke at a key time. This mission gave me a lot of trouble on brutal without those 11 kills!
Here i erlier today finich watching your sc1 and sc2 capain videos back too back and you provide me with another one. thank you.
Best pick up micro on artanis at the end there must have been a warp prism nearby xD
Btw... it's good to see, that Lowko finaly learned how to make an at least O.K. wall :)
I wish I could see Lowko's face when he sees what the Mastery achievement for this mission is... ;) Great and geweldig video as always, Lowko. :)
The left over Protoss either died already (20billion or something Zerg) or evacuated to talematros, which is evacuated to spear of adun.
Looking at how Lowko erraticly places photon cannons, OCD screams internally...
imagine this song as the background music for this mission. 'till it's over' by Tristam. it actually fits very well if you listen to the lyrics.
just so you know, the solar lance is REALLY good in the campaign
I go back and forth on whether I like warp in reinforcements or chrono surge more. I picked chrono surge for this map and had the nerazim immortals. Being able to get 4 immortals out in just a few seconds is OP AF. Also, temporal field is strong being able to lock down multiple armies.
1.8 billion .. on brutal .. you are a mad man Lowko .. so good :-)
ikr ?, also = was SUCH a close call this one indeed, the cinematic was fitting :)
I like the low-key indignation at the protoss making comments on humanity.
it makes one curious how protoss fall in love...
will they say... "your flat face is beautiful? or "your glowing eyes is rather dashing?" LOVE ME!!!!!!
thinking about it, doesn't in SC1, Zeratul told Artanis he has a bold plan to stun the overmind in one of the mission
@lowkotv i take it you didn't miss the prophecy of "one protoss will be able to wield both the dark and light templar powers".
This is my favorite cinematic from the whole Lotv...
I remember playing this mission i got stuck on it for SO long back when i had no idea how to play the game well
38:35 lowko feels Nervous for Artanis!!!! Lol
You can see the temple in SCI expansion protoss campaign mission 3 cerebrates are near it
It's helpful to plop down some Nexus cannons too, since you have the upgrade
the thing about this mission is, the protoss could have used it the same way they did last time, and clensed shakuras of zerg, mopped up the hybrid if they survived and either done the whole thing again or just disassembled/shut down the gate to auir again.
I see you are doing the good old photon canon crescent moon formation!
I never did like king of the hill missions. I still find that hard to believe because I have a rather death-ball-y playstyle.
Amon be baneling busting your frontlines
Just FYI lowko.
The weapon that dark templar use call warp blade not psi blade. So now Artanis wields both psi blade and warp blade.
I remember from sc1 that monolite are decorate structure, in the mission when you kill Aldaris they just hanging around
Lowko: What if Amon decides to respond to this and blows up Aiur instead?
Amon: and I oop-
Damn lowko, you would've been a better amon than amon LOLOLOL
guy that works for blizzard : how can we take canon rush to the next level ?
the guy who makes updates : *drinks 10 cans of bear* lets make naxuses shot
Lowco, you should spend some time looking at Karax near the solar core, and see what happens.
