One injury prone waste of time out and potentially another in??? Harry you are right in that his price marginally reflects his injury history however he cost only like 2 million a year ago and was from a smaller team. However it is not the price tag that is the worry it is the fact that we will need him with Tomiyasu and Zinchenko always injured and none of us know how Timber will be having missed a year. A lot of players pick up a lot of little strains and knocks after a huge injury. After all that it looks like there is a very good chance Kiwior will be leaving. If Kiwior leaves we are back to 7 defenders and 3 of them (Zinchenko, Tomiyasu and Calafiori) have awful injury records. My concern is not that we are gambling insane money on a defender it is that we need another defender badly and the one we have signed based on his history can not be relied on to be available. I am very very concerned about Calafiori and his horrible injury record. I know many are only aware of his huge injury when he was 17 but that is not the issue. The guy has missed a reported 151 games of football through various long term injuries.

I like ESR as most true gooners, but I have to disagree our recruitment team are saving face. Arteta is highly influential in this decision. He didn't play ESR for good reason. Even Vieira didn't get much time when he was fit. Vieira does have two things ESR lacks, and that's a killer incisive pass and a good long range shot. Arteta is probably giving Vieira one more season to prove his worth as he's been injury prone, but I wouldn't be surprised if we also let him go next summer if he doesn't perform.
