Slot also set Liverpool up really well, the team didn’t press recklessly and let Chelsea move the ball to Palmer / Madueke in space. They dropped off for the most part and then transitioning quickly into a low block. Chelsea really struggled to create in the final third.

For me, it's lazy punditry from Gary. Nicholas Jackson has scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 8 games this season yet all we hear about is this "world class striker" shout. There is no one in the world bar Haaland who has that kind of scoring rate, other than Lewandowski - who no doubt if Chelsea signed English media would be critical saying he is "too old"

In all honesty - Neville should NOT do commentary on Liverpool as he simply cannot hide his bias. Carragher does a better job at hiding his but neither of them should comment on their “rival” clubs or their own clubs for that matter. Today I listened to the commentators for first half, muted the second half. Neville is so emotional that he spouts nonsense and he ends up embarrassing himself.
What is Garry even talking about Liverpool’s midfield.. McAllister is a World Cup winner, sobo is one of the best up and coming midfielder from Germany, gravenberch named as one of the best Dutch midfielder coming from Ajax ranks didn’t happen for him last season and in Bayern but the lad is still just 22 .. with Curtis he has been in and around the first team to play in this games since the 2019/20 .. just because they aren’t expensive to Chelsea’s midfield doesn’t make them not suitable for the big games … what an absolute travesty of commentary in the games as well.. one thing is good that carragher will get him with utd .. I can’t imagine how other fanbase deal with him in commentary during games.. he was absolutely creating his own narratives… also on Trent’s defending no praise at a.. got sancho hooked at half time .. not to mention Chelsea were clearly trying to play through him with Neto, sancho, nkunku all fresh ..but still didn’t manage to do anything..
