- Chelsea have been beaten at Anfield in the Premier League but we were excellent. For large periods of the game we were the better side and Arne Slot will feel very fortunate to have got away with a victory. Curtis Jones got the winner off the back of an opener from Mo Salah but when Nicolas Jackson scored, it felt like things could have been about to become very tricky for Liverpool...gutted.

Slot decided to concede possession, tactically, to neutralise Chelsea’s counter-attacking. It worked well and Liverpool could have had three or four. Don’t be misled by possession stats.

As for your keeper, follow through on a tackle anywhere else on the pitch and it’s a foul regardless of if you touch the ball. But keepers are protected.

Apart from Nicolas Jackson’s goal and a chance for Cole Palmer, Chelsea didn’t create much. Ref also favoured Chelsea a lot. Liverpool deserved the win.

The ref was bad for both sides. I felt that Chelsea were favored in some of the smaller decisions(Veiga and Nunez bodycheck, Colwill handball). However, you have to admit that we got robbed of that penalty in the first half. What really pisses me off though is how the media is completely ignoring the incident and praising Trent for his defensive performance. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Trent personally and I don't think he is a bad defender, but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth when I have to listen to pundits praise him today and not even mention that he was a refereeing mistake away from potential costing Liverpool the game.

As a Liverpool fan I was hugely impressed by Chelsea. You looked dangerous all the time and very positive. I think the you underestimate Liverpools performance though, they do not play like Liverpool of last season and play more reserved and wait for their moments.

Let me correct you Rory Liverpool had 5 shots on target Chelsea had 2. Chelsea didn't create much at all only clear cut chance they had was the goal.
Chelsea did exactly what Slot wanted them to do, and it wasn’t as close as people think. More possession doesn’t mean you were better, and you didn’t even have more shots on target.
Chelsea created more chances (via stats) and excluding the penalty had the same xG as Liverpool at Anfield... if Sancho's penalty decision had been given then you wouldn't be saying that. Referee a big factor.

How Tosin stays in the pitch is beyond understanding. Go down to 10 men after 8 min and you were not even close. You also never had a lead, all week I’ve said both teams attack well but Chelsea’s defense is trash.

Chelsea played really well. Had more possession and made it tough for Liverpool. But honestly they only had two shots on target which shows as well that Liverpool are harder to score against this season. I do think Chelsea will finish in the top 4 and will be a big problem for teams this season.

As a Liverpool fan I don't think Chelsea fans can be too unhappy with that performance. Last time you went to Anfield you got slapped 4-1 whereas this game was very tight
However the gap between the two clubs when it comes to experience and maturity is what sets us apart. Chelsea look like a quality team going in the right direction but they're still a couple of years away from competing for the league, especially when you look at your defense compared to Man City, Liverpool and Arsenals

We had you cornered in first 20 minutes. If the Trent foul on Sancho had gone to VAR, we would all be talking about a very different game. You guys played well, better than we did, but there was not a massive difference between the two teams. I am definitely looking forward to our next game. I think we produced a pretty high quality game today.

• Caicedo was solid as usual. What an assist.
• Liverpool's maturity & experience told and proved to be the difference in the end.
We're much better than the 4-1 loss last season.
• Badiashile surprised me today.
Him & Neto were our best subs
• Good performance from James.
His crosses made me feel like we still need an aerial threat(#9🇳🇬) up front.
• Moises and Lavia look a better pivot for us.
Enzo is looking like a problem Maresca's yet to find a solution to.
• Jackson is getting better at timing his runs + congrats to him for scoring against the best defence this season.
Decent performance.

What I got from this game is that I can't wait for us to play against United. I am salivating at the idea of Caicedo and Lavia facing Eriksen and Casemiro. I think it was a pretty even game. Outside of the goals scored, neither team created any massive clearcut chances. Both keepers barely had to make any saves. A draw would have fair but that's not how football works unfortunately.
We got a long way to go I thought were somewhere there but not our defence is a shambles

I cant complain about the boys today. We played well but the best side playing at home won. We need an experienced keeper, centerback and a striker. Lavia is freaking gem, him leaving collapsed our midfield. When he is fit, it’s game over for Fernandez.
Lavia reminds me of Mikel. So elegant and technically secure. Definitely starts ahead of Enzo for me.
James is just amazing playing under pressure. So skillful and strong. I want to see him as RCB alongside Colwill. It'll help Sanchez a lot too. Less of those crazy backpass from Fofana.
Curtis Jones was put on Cole Palmer and marked him out of this game. He deserves more praise for his performance because Palmer is a hell of a player. Rory can say what he wants but Liverpool were the more dangerous team, you had more shots but I don’t remember Kelleher making a save. Chelsea looked like a top side I will be surprised if you lot don’t make top 4. This Liverpool side isn’t even in top gear, ignoring the Forrest game I’d fancy them over anyone in the league this season. Was a very close game between two very good sides
