I got my Interceptor 650 delivered about two weeks ago and every ride it feels like the first and I carry the same excitement. It’s a beautiful machine and I feel honoured own one. Thank you RE!
Royal Enfield will make sure you do with its frustrating dealer network and particular low quality of service done on your bike. Stay away from Liquid gun oil if you want to save your engine.
First "big bike" I ever rode was a borrowed RE 750 TT Inerceptor. Pressure Relief Valve to start. A real leg breaker. Coolest, unique sound around in 1967. Lots of torque. Scared the "stuffing" of me and I was hooked...
Test rode one of these last year. I have to say, it's got more than enough power than most riders would ever need. Might have to make a purchase this year. Ice Queen all the way for me!
Proud owner of Interceptor 650. Boy, I own a Vento 1.6 mpi as well, a car can never put a smile as big on your face as a bike can. Absolute fun to drive.
Absolutely. Never even considered the single cylinders... Booked the GT immdly. Sweet handling, lovely sound, enough power for regular riding and highway. All with excellent looks and character.
When something looks right it normally is right. A Spitfire, The Flying Scotsman, A Ford Mustang as examples and now this bike the Royal Enfield Interceptor, it just looks right. And from any angle. It just got to me. I sold my last bike a few years ago and had no intention of getting a bike. But one look and then the sound. Yep getting one no question about it..

I love Interceptor 650! I have one on order in Ravishing Red. It is the perfect bike for this 71 year old fart whose heart is with the English twins of the mid to late 60's. RE needs more US dealers and if they really want to be successful here they are going to have to offer accessories like back rests, touring seats, crash bars, LED headlights and alloy wheels for tubeless tires all available from the dealers! ESPECIALLY alloy wheels and LED headlights! The sooner the better!
I was waiting for a long time to have this made in India bike because I know that any Indian manufacturer can understand the need of perelal twin in Indian bike enthusiast desire,
I own a RE Interceptor and it's majestic! What I don't understand is why you didn't built a 700 or 750 cc with 60 hp and 55 bhp. I love the character and 47 hp but a 700cc was more historically correct. But.....a great bike and hope it to own for many years to come! Compliments and regards from the Netherlands 👍👋
Since you're from the Netherlands, you should know ... Their engine on the Interceptor 650 & GT has been carefully and explicitly tuned to fall within A2 bike-power license thresholds. No great mystery. It's the same reason they're adding ABS and fuel injection to otherwise classic machines, even SatNav as standard on the meteor 350. Long story short, they are not a boutique auto-manufacturer, they sell nearly 1,000,000 motorcycles a year - their motorbikes need to be practical. They are pragmatists, not dogmatists. And that's best for everyone, since we've got their design philosophy + their massive economy of scale, so rather than end up with really expensive boutique motorcycles that are more likely to be problem prone and harder to maintain, harder to insure, and possibly not even road legal depending on how faithfully they rebuild the 20th century classic, what we've actually ended up with is a manufacturing power house whose design philosophy is to be as classic as possible whilst also being practical. We won't get any better than this.
Oh, and btw, S&S do an 865cc 'big bore' kit that delivers 64 hp. It is endorsed by Royal Enfield and doesn't void the warranty. If you love the 650 Royal Enfield, but want more power ... you can easily achieve that. It has been designed to be customizable.
@@DD-co1zn What a passionate answer 👍! Yes, the A2 license. But....... building a 700 cc with 60 HP and making it A2- worthy by a simple technical restriction would have been nice to. That would have been practical😂👍! Nevermind, this RE-machine is absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!

@@koosmotormuis .. the problem with restricted bikes, that use a simple technical restriction, is that they create this restriction in a very hacky way, by simply putting a ceiling on the throttle ... This is not a good way to maintain the 'feeling' or 'character' of the original. That's why, if you want more power from the same design, a 'big bore' kit is the way to go. And Royal Enfield already endorsed the S&S big bore kit. It won't even void bike warranty if you use it. To me, that is the best way.

@Raghavendra fyi there is a difference in the bikes they sell in India and the same model they export to the West because their quality parameters are different than ours in India. And because the exported ones are high quality that's why they are priced three times more. Will Himalayan or any RE bike sell if it was sold here for nearly four lakhs rupees? I doubt that.
