      As I can’t speak Indian, what is the cure for the wobble? My Interceptor only does it when you close the throttle and decelerate from 60mph to around 50mph and only in certain gears. I think it’s actually caused by a vibration harmonic.

  • @lachala
    @lachala 3 года назад

    Interceptor is more of a street fun bike than a tourer. For long distance touring Himalayan works better practically because of it's comfort n luggage carrying capacity. Yes you won't get the power like interceptor but for long distances, it can easily manage an avg speed of 90-100.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад +1

      Like i said....it's the overtaking at those speeds on the highway where one feels the lack of power...but that's not Himalayan's fault....it is 24-25bhp bike.
      And yes Interceptor isn't meant specifically for touring...but a little mods here-n-there and it has been serving that purpose really well for me.

  • @neerajgaur8792
    @neerajgaur8792 3 года назад

    I have hyundai verna 1.6 automatic diesel and mileage figures are almost same. Given diesel is a cheaper fuel cost of running interceptor are same as running a really good car. Thats something to consider. Bikes are supposed to be economical in running. But then interceptor is no ordinary man's bike.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад

      Hi Neeraj...you said it right.
      If fuel economy is a primary concern then Interceptor should never be the choice for things like commuting. Something like Apache160 would stricke a good balance between good fuel economy and decent power for city traffic.
      My next upgrade would definitely be a tourer and if I can keep this one as well then I would make it look prettier and take off all the touring related accessories.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад

      Hi Krunal....agar stock exhausts ke look se aap khush nahi ho to market me bohot saare options available hain... AEW, Powerage, MotoWings, Gursevak etc.
      New Interceptor me ab Ceat ke tube tyres aate hain....to in tyres ke saath only option hai ki aap anti-puncture gel use karo....lekin agar aapko tubeless chahiye to aapko tyres change karvane padenge and then ya to alloy wheels ya fir Outex/Way2Speed tubeless conversion kit install karvana padega spoke rims par.

  • @kkkkkkk6406
    @kkkkkkk6406 3 года назад +1

    Only thing I'm worried about on interceptor is punture issue as it is a tube tyre (on BS6 comes with Pirelli-stock)..so any solutions for that?😓 But I heard that Timsun is good for interceptor & it is also tubeless type so after installing Timsun I can use anti-punture kit for tubeless option....isn't it useful?

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад +1

      You are absolutely right.... Switching to a tubeless tyre and then getting the tubeless conversion kit installed would save you from some really tough situations.
      Timsuns have recieved decent reviews till now so you can definitely go for them.

    • @kkkkkkk6406
      @kkkkkkk6406 3 года назад +1

      @@TheTwinPost yah that's the only way to get rid off from punture issues😓I was planning for Dominar then switched to Int650..btw what is the best anti-puncture kit available in the market now...(*note- Budget is not an issue) btw one more thing I heard that Timsun rear size is 150section & front 120..is it true ? & If yes then any problem for upgrade?

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад

      Usually people go for Outex kit if budget isn't an issue...BUT Outex seems to fail alot more if it is not installed from someone who is an absolute expert at it.... (Bulu Biker's Outex kit on his Interceptor failed within 2 months of installation from Art of Motorcycles in Bangalore).
      I have been using the Way2Speed tubeless conversion kit for the past 7 months now and my experience has been phenomenal with it....no unusual psi loss... encountered a puncture during my long ride which took 2 minutes to fix.
      I got the kit installed from PathPavers in Delhi as it was suggested by the seller (Way2Speed) themselves... Satisfied with the product.

      It's so so easy and cheap to covert a tubed rim to tubeless, I've done it on mine, all you need is some sealent for the spokes on the inside and tho it's optional some tape over that

  • @flameonfzn
    @flameonfzn Год назад

    bhai sorry but cruising speed is easily 120kmph and you can do 130 too if the roads allow it and you have a good fly screen installed, secondly the top speed is easily 178-180kmph. Interceptor bs6 owner here.😊

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  Год назад

      The difference here between our opinions is in think... We have a different definition for the word 'easily'.
      Touring speed of 110-120 is something where the rider is also comfortable with the amount of windblast + the engine isn't running too hot which would end with a lower than usual fuel economy. You can ride INT-650 at 140 too all day long but that doesn't make it an 'ideal' touring speed for this bike.
      Top speed: I've ridden the BS-6 version as well as I have 2 friends who also own Interceptors (2 BS-IV & 1 BS-VI) and the easily achievable speed is 160 but stretching it out it does around 170ish... In my experience it didn't reach those speeds "easily".

    Well, I've been following the int for a long time to buy... However, something came my way that's more practical in many ways except for the twin cylinder..
    The KTM 390 ADV....
    Q- if you didn't have the int. and had 3.5L, hands down, which one would you choose???

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад +1

      Although I do agree that for the price the Adv390 packs in alot of features and performance.... It's just that personally it doesn't suit the kind of riding I want to do.
      I go for grocery shopping as well on my bike, and I've done commute to work plus the weekend and long rides on my Int.
      390 just doesn't enjoy going at slow speeds and demands gear shifts....Int would happily chug along in third gear doing 25-30kmph... low down Torque take care of the rest.
      It's this ease of riding that made me buy the Interceptor.... Someone who has a different ask from their motorcycle....the adv390 might perfectly suit them.
      And that's why coming back to your question.... Today with 3.2-3.5 lakhs in my hand I would have still gone for the Interceptor....and would have spent a little more to swap those ceat tyres with some other tubeless option.

    • @kevingonsalvez4761
      @kevingonsalvez4761 3 года назад

      Fair enough.... I just wanted to get a perspective.... But you're right... Everyone may have a different expectation... wanna ask something related to tyres...we all know pirellis are far better than ceat but can we really have the fun with ceat and the confidence in corners with the latter tyres(ps: obviously after getting the tyre warm up and the engine too coz pirellis sportcomp that use to come before wasnt good if u dont warm up the tyres)

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад

      Hi Teko... I've ridden with these tyres on another bike as well.... The Jawa Perak... Perak also comes with Ceat Zoom Cruze tyres and I did 120-130+ speeds with them and they felt amazing on long sweeping curves....it felt like the tyres offered more but the bike was not capable of delivering more.... that's where Interceptor comes in...These tyres are perfectly fine for what Interceptor is capable of.... I can say that with what I've experienced.

    Brother, even I have an interceptor bs6, I observed that whenever I am refuelling the bike from almost an empty tank to a full tank, it doesn't get filled more than 7.95-8 litres at a time that too filled fully although the tank is 14 litres. kindly shed some light on this! :)

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад +1

      Hi Utkarsh...well that's weird.. when I'm on a long ride and we stop for fuel...I usually fill up about 9-10 litres with the fuel tank not being fully empty.
      The best logical explanation I could find to this was - *It is extremely likely that you have a problem with either the fuel tank's vent hose or with the evap system, most likely the evap canister. Same thing happens when you are filling up your Fuel tank at the pump. The air already in the tank prevents the gasoline at certain level to be pumped into the tank*

      Bhai tubeless tyre lage lagae aate the pehle is bike par (Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp) lekin tube unme bhi dali hui thi kyuki spoke rims me tube daalni padti hai.
      Spoke rims pe tubeless kit lagvane ke baad...ya alloy wheels lagvane ke baad inpe tubeless tyres daalke bina tube ke chala sakte hain koi issue nahi hai.
      Bhai tubeless spoke rims bohot mehenge aate hain... India me sabse sasti bike with tubeless spoke rims almost 9.5 lakhs ki aati hai (Suzuki Vstrom 650). To 3 lakh ki bike me ye de nahi paegi RE....zada se zada alloy wheels nikal sakti hai Interceptor ke liye jo actually nikal dene chahiye the but abtak nahi nikale.
      Meri bike pe mene spoke rims ko tubeless karvake ab bina tube ke chala raha hu...7 mahine ho chuke hain or koi issue nahi aaya hai

I got a very good quality Duffle bag worth 2k free with the jacket (there was an offer).
      Quality is pretty good... Although the Armor is CE-1 ....but that's something you can upgrade I'm the future too....one can get a CE-2/3 level armour and install it.
      Windfar jacket costed me 7k (plus free Duffle bag worth 2k) and the daily riding gloves were for 2k which at discount were for 1.6k

    Help me bro, I wanted to purchase a bike within 4 lacks and confused. I will use the bike for long long years. My requirements is 60% city (Daily office, normal city work and traffics), 40% highway (highway + rough trail) and pillion comfort also a requirement. I am confused between KTM 390 Adventure, Dominar 400 UG and Interceptor. Please please suggest me which one would be best for me. OR Should I wait for another bike launch,

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 года назад +1

      Hi there.... I'm assuming you have shortlisted the bikes which you have mentioned in your comment. So I'll talk about these three as per your needs..
      The 390adv and Dominar can handle city traffic better than the Interceptor in terms of the ease... 390 doesn't like going slow and has jerky throttle at slow speeds...hence in slow moving speed Dominar is better overall.
      Highways...we'll all three are perfectly capable... But Interceptor shines on the highway because of its engine... Minimal gear shifts and loads of torque for overtakes.
      Pillion Comfort: Both Adv390 and Dominar's stock pillion setup is more comfortable than the Interceptor's stock pillion seating stance because of the unusually high footpeg position.
      Interceptor needs a seat mod and pillion footpeg relocator to be at par with the other two bikes here.
      If you're willing to go for certain mods then Interceptor is a great choince....and the reason I'm saying this is also because of the fact that you want to keep the bike for many years to come.... And for that factor I would rate the Interceptor better than the other two

    My head says Dominar n heart says Interceptor. Dominar is better package than Interceptor. In City run Interceptor is a task. Interceptor is heavier than Dominar. Interceptor is less fuel efficient than dominar and I doubt if I shall drive Interceptor with my kid as pillion as raised exhaust touched his feet during test ride. All above factors blow off when I see Interceptor in canyon Red ❤

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  2 года назад +1

      Agreed with all your points... Dominar is a well rounded package and covers most of the practical aspects whithout the need of any mods.
      I'll add one thing here though... Talking of positives of Interceptor - that engine is a gem...it's refinement, torque delivery and utter smoothness is something which obviously a single cylinder Dominar just cannot match.
      But practicality is something that Dominar really delivers in...plus it has got some decent power too.

      Tomar bhai vaise jo bhi Interceptor August-2019 ke baad ki manufacturing vaali hai usme vo ECU update peeche se hokar hi aaya hai...to agar aapko bike Aug-2019 ke baad ki hai to aapki bike pe vo updated hi hona chahiye pehle se hi.
      Agar aapko service center se aisa response aaraha hai jaha unko khud hi nahi pata ECU ke baare me....fir aap Royal Enfield ko ek lambi chaudi email maardo apni bike ka number, service center ki details or phone number daalke.... Uspar action lenge vo.
      Handlebar se aane vaali avaaz ke liye most probably aapke handlebar ke coneset me greasing ki requirement hai...jo karne par ye issue theek hojaega.
