I’ve had a RE classic 350 for 6 months now and love it. I think for a “city bike” it’s better than the meteor because of the riding position and I feel it handles better. Also it sits a little higher giving a little better visibility. Plus better looking , lots of comments😎

My Continental GT is my first bike. Love it! Living in semi-rural America I need the bigger power plant, but it's controls are forgiving, throttle is easy to manage, it's built like a tank, and it isn't going to yeet you over the handlebars if you make a mistake. It is heavy at 450 lbs so it doesn't feel all that nimble, but that's OK. The engine has a nice healthy thrum, there's lots of aftermarket part support. I'm excited about the meteor 650 and a more beefy street oriented Himalayan. Uh oh ... lol.

When I got my Meteor 350, my neighbor liked it so much that he got one a short time later. Oh and BTW, the Meteor doesn't need a 6th gear, and I doubt that it could really use it anyway, given its modes power output. While you don't want to take the Meteor out on the super slab for extended periods, it can make short runs on it. That said, the Meteor 350 do a good job pretty much everywhere else.

I have two bikes, a GSXR 750 and a Royal Enfield INT 650. I bought the RE about eight months ago and absolutely love it. It has turned into my go-to bike for almost every occasion. What sold me was a video I watched of Royal Enfield's CEO talking about the entire executive team has to ride motorcycles- what a great culture! This thing was built by riders for riders. The upright riding position and rippy exhaust note from the S&S pipes make this bike very livable while having loads of soul.
I love my GSXR and only ride it when I have the need to run around at a buck-twenty +. However, four out of five times I go out the garage and jump on a bike, it's my Royal Enfield INT 650.

That being said i think a lot more people living in the west would pick up motorcycling because of RE because it doesn’t force you to trade beginner friendliness for coolness unlike manufacturers of bigger bikes. Also people starting on a 350 or 500 with modest horsepower will get the time and safety net to grow into better riders than people starting on 650 cc or 1000cc which get unmanageable for beginners

I remember not long ago how you were saying a 1K sportbike is foolish to have on the street. I've been riding my entire life and put more miles on a 1K sport bike on the street than any average motorcyclist I've met. I never felt it was excessive, but yeah....kinda was. Through some life events, I ended up with an RE 650 GT.
I have to say, the fun factor on this bike easily surpasses the majority of bikes I've owned. I think the best part is I can ride it like it's supposed to be ridden without committing a felony.
As a life long motorcyclist I can easily say this bike is just a great bike regardless of your experience level. I wouldn't take it to the track, but we're talking about public roads. Oh, and the accessories and options go on and on.

I'm not a fan of the other Royal Enfields even being from India, where it's filled with them but I ride a little aggressively so I was thinking with going with the RC390 cause it falls in the same budget bracket but after using my 650 for daily driving I don't regret my decision at all. One tip though get a puncture repellent lube for both bikes or go with the meteor 350's tyre for the rear from the beginning or be ready to get cramps in your legs when this thing punctures

The MT-03 is faster in the short 0-60, but the INT-650 just rides better, feels better, and cruises better on the highway. On the highway the mt-03 was "OK" but once you are going 70 it lost its pull, it could go faster, but it was a slow acceleration. The Int-650 might be slower in the 0-60, but has way more acceleration on the highway. It feels sooo much better too on the highway.

I've looked into the int650 I like the look and think it would be a fun addition to the garage. What I don't like is the 1300 dollar shipping charge my local dealer charges to get it from India to the states. Turns a 6200 dollar bike into 8500 out the door with all the other fees. Doesn't seem like the such a bargain at that price.

If you understand what you are after, and what you are getting, the RE Himalayan is an absolutely fantastic machine ... I do not like the tripper gadget on the latest models ... seems like they would be better off engineering a integrated phone mount with built in charging port ... that makes more sense to me

You totally missed the upcoming 450cc platform which will bring 6 new bikes. The prototype images are all over the internet, they have built a new liquid cooled 450cc engine that will power the upcoming Himlayan with USD forks and modern styling similar to Honda bikes. There won't be any 650cc Himalyan but a scrambler by the name Sherpa.

I looked the INT650 as my first street bike. I like the style but I had some concerns. I felt I might outgrow the bije quickly. The brakes on the front according to many reviewers while stopped the bike just fine they could be better. Some parts on the bike looked cheap and I wanted something I didn't have to upgrade to suit me. The local dealer wasn't very helpful, and quite honestly his attitude in general turned me off. Instead I purchased a new 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary. The bike will be delievered next week and sit in the garage until late April when I take my MSF course.

Interesting that you specifically refer to the Netherlands in the beginning. Just for your understanding, in the Netherlands the majority of bikers would not consider a bike under 500 cc to be worthy for the highways. Somehow, people (unjustly) got it in their head that you would need a 600-1,200+ cc bike for that. And although the Netherlands is small, we have (one of the) most dense and well maintained road infrastructure of Europe (next to the highest density of both urbanism and agriculture).
Other bikers would frown, if you would take the Enfield Classic 350 or Benelli Imperiale 400 on highway rides (also for commuting). Although, I love those bikes, there is actually something to say for the Continental 650. It's nice to have a bit more power to quickly get out of the way of inattentive car drivers.

I'm hung up between the hunter 350 and continental GT, I live in a somewhat urban environment but I'd like to once in a while take a long drive out to nowhere and come back.
It will be my first bike ever, so if anyone has advice or an opinion let me know.
