Nicaea, yes!! Did not expect to hear a Hollandspiele game mentioned in this video. Play all of Amabel's weird games you can get your hands on. Her cube rail game, Irish Gauge (published by Capstone), is my top pick for a gateway game in the hobby.

Wow this is not what I pictured they'd look like.
    They're way hotter

800 games?! Each to their own but that does seem totally unwieldy. How on earth does one decide what to play when faced with such an overwhelming choice? And in terms of keeping looking for unique aspects of games I’m not sure how you would be able to remember whether any of your other 800 games contained the element that is attracting you to game 801

I agree with you! I've got 80 and I feel like I need to cut back.

If I had to do it again, I would have cut way back on the purchases that I made. There's a lot of lessons that I've learned spread throughout multiple videos, podcasts, etc. I've culled quite a bit as of late because of that and as far as why I acquired all of them...that's a separate story.
As far as finding what 801 provides that I haven't seen before...I guess that's just how my brain works? 😂

During pandemic I made a lot of lists (it's relaxing), including a list of every game I played. I've played over 550 games (and own about 60). I know there are at least 800 games that I would enjoy playing. So...IF i had the money and the space??? ....sheeeeet...I'd easily own 800 games. Sure, I'd know that most would probably only be played once every two or three or four years. BUT they'd be there, on the shelf, ready to go. Also...a lot of choice I would leave to whoever is coming over to play with me! : ) Re "unique aspects"...I've easily viewed over 10,000 movies. It's not that hard to discuss/remember the specifics (technical/artistic/thematic/social) of thousands of them. Even having seen most only once. Same with the 500 games i've played. I dream of a room and bank account that allows me 800 purchases.
