Is there a season when birch are best for tapping?

The best season for tapping birch trees is usualy around April, just before the trees begin to sprout buds. Once the buds burst, the sap will get cloudy and it is time to end. Try to tap on the side with full sun exposure.
When you are done clean and plug the hole.
      Enjoy it fresh😉

The reason to Do IT whit birch is simple. Birch sap contains a huge amount of sugar. Other trees dosnt got the sugar content in the sap. The birch sugar is named xilit you can found it in a lot of chewing gums. It Got 50 percent of the calories of regular sugar and Got the same swetening Power

Idk where you put the microphone, the sound of dropping sap in the jar is fascinating.

      Thank you Luis Birrueta.
Cimbrer got it right. About finger rings, I made them by myself from brass scraps. It is pretty much an easy project.
      Stay safe.

So, what does birch sap taste like? I saw that, in reply to another comment, you said to "enjoy it fresh." Have folk ever made it into syrup, the way maple sap is? I wish I could try this, but I dont live nigh any birch....

It has pretty mild taste, it is slightly acidic. It is not as sweet as maple sap so I don't make it into syrup, but some ppl do it. I drink it fresh, because it can get naturally fermented after two days.

The issue I have is everything looks like its brand new or it just came out of a washer and dryer.
