i have owned my abarth for 2 months now and I also have a mustang GT and a Lotus Elise. I will say the Fiat is in a class by itself (with good and bad points) It is comfortable, great exhaust, great throttle response in the high rpm range and handles very well. Feels much faster than it is. tons of fun on the back roads, but flys on the highway. Seats are way more comfortable than a mini. 5 speed is perfect, another gear is not required. Cheap fun. Simply fun, fun, fun to drive, and upgrades and add ons like spay bar and piggy back ECU chip to boost the car to 190 HP are affordable
Traded my TJ for New Rosso Red Cabrio Abarth with red leather inserts, red dash, 17", Tom Tom Nav, it is hard loaded 2014 $32k & same car on sale $23k for my clearance purchased '13. It took 48hrs on Craiglist to sell my Jeep for fair bluebook to college guy out of town. Picking up the F500 Monday when banks open {grin} Doing the Ferrari Tributo emblems and the RRM Stage 3 220hp kit. Some guy selling $1500 kit for $500 new
"with good and bad points " You left out this bad part which is very important. I have to carry a stick to keep the females from climbing into the vert !! That is a BIG PROBLEM that comes with owning an Abarth, you will just have to get used to those kinds of issues {grin}
Thanks for the kind comments. I actually had to reposition the bike again to get everything to fit. And yes I've bent a derailleur hanger so I've learned my lesson on which way to load a bike...not to mention the dirt and oil on the chain that's gets all over the car.
Nice variety with the bike race segment. It isnt always just about the car, but what it enables you to do. I did cringe when you started you put the bike in drivetrain side down, but once you removed the rear wheel, you got it right. Always wondered if you were a cyclist because of all the shots of cyclists in your vids. That race looks incredibly challanging. It took me 3 hours to ride 50 miles of gently rolling terrain at 500 feet above sea level, so I think the train wouod beat me.
I'm 6'2 and there's plenty of headroom if you don't get the sunroof. And yes there's a huge blind spot but you get the cool little mirror in mirror deal to see cars in the driver's side blind spot.
I've had mine for 2 and a half years, it's in for some warranty work at the moment (strut tops & inner CV joint - possibly caused by the huge pot holes everywhere) but other than that I've had very few problems with it apart from blowing DRL's. I get very good mpg of around 39-42 using Momentum 99, which the car has had since day 1. It really benefits from high octane fuel both in terms of economy and performance so that's what I use every time I fill up, plus I drive it quite hard on a daily basis. The driving position isn't perfect, nor are the seats but they are still quite good. I say this because being such a short wheel base car with a hard suspension set up it does tend to bounce a bit when you get racy, unless you upgrade to shorter bumpstops and springs (both rear) then the ride totally settles. Mine is running a multitude of upgrades and feels amazing to drive, it's planted to the road, corners as flat as you like and the power delivery is brutal; yet I haven't spent a fortune either. £120 tuning box (with a custom map), Koni's added to the rear (purchased for only £60), Novitec lowering spring kit (£100 new) and my Novitec exhaust system (purchased for £150 as new) transformed my car. That's not by any means all of my upgrades but these are the most noticeable (excluding my Team Dynamic Pro race 1.2 wheels) and improved the car endlessly. Nothing I've driven is more fun to drive and it draws in more attention than a lot of expensive Coupés and sports cars, so it really offers great bang for your buck! Give it a test drive and see for your self.
That was absolutely beautiful. Perhaps make the next roadtrip segment where instead of your favourite car you could have Nathan pick the car he thinks you hate the most, and you will pick the car you think he will hate the most. Has to be cars you haven't tested yet. Then you test them and see whether they were as terrible as you thought they'd be. Keep up the great work!
Hey, I am 16 years old. I really love cars. This is something I want to do in the future. What kind of degree did you get that led you to this job? Is this your main job? I think that video reviews are the best way to review a car. I have done alot of acting in live theater, so am very comfortable talking in front of a large audience. I just want to know if you could point me in the right path. Let me know if you have any pointers. Thanks.
87 is the minimum octane Fiat recommends but there is a mention the prolonged used may cause damage or words to that effect. It's specc'd for 91 octane. I find I get a few extra psi of boost if I use 94 octane in my 2014.
In the other video with another Abarth, you sat in the front passenger seat and said "I just don't fit in this car". Those of us knew then what we still know now is that there are different seat heights in that car between the driver and the passenger side. Not being mean to go look at your video in the past completely persuading tall people not to buy this car, I'm 63 and I saw other videos of people taller than me that's loved it just fine.
Yes you are right. Wikipedia: Regular gasoline in US 87 octane (AKI) = 91-92 (RON) you can not buy this in EU as i know Eurosuper 95 (RON) = 91 (AKI) Eurosuper 98 (RON) = 93-94 (AKI) 100 octane = no info
Hey Roman, did you notice any "drone" in the cabin while cruising along? I love the Abarth's exhaust note just as much as the next person, but I don't want to grow tired of it in daily driving.
Great video Roman and crew that was entertaining. I don't think I could do 50 miles on a bicycle today unless my life depended on it....Good effort. Trains are too consistent. - rugb
Very cool vid. I very like vids from this channel. This car is Fiat 500, Cinquecento is different car which was produced by Fiat in 90' of last century.
You are VERY WRONG because car name is a NUMBER and it is normal to say that number in your language. Do you call BMW series 5 "five" or "funf" ? For italians is cinquecento for english speaking countries is "five hundred" for croatians like me for example is "petsto". Other thing is that there is other car with Fiat Cinquecento name (notice LETTERS not numbers) so there is another reason why that is WRONG.
Ohh...please. Your or someones else feelings have nothing to do with common practice that car with a number name is pronounce in your main language. That is natural and logical thing to do. History have nothing to do with that. You are mad because you know you are wrong and you don't have anything that will crush my argument, only your personal view that is very irrational.

Exhaust is excellent; No drone and I have not become tired of it after 4 months.
Wow, this video coverage was great!!! It includes a car review with a story within the story, well done!!!

As i heard it does. Results from fiat500usaforum "real world milage" poll:
30-31 MPG 15.38%
32-33 MPG 14.42%
34-35 MPG 22.12%
36-37 MPG 10.58%
38-39 MPG 25.00%
40-41 MPG 7.69%
42+ MPG 7.69%
"I'm gonna down shift to third".. cut to a clip shifting to fourth. great edit.
Roman, is their a trunk light in back? I only re call the front Map lights, a light in the rear would be nice as I do everything at night.

Definitely 91 octane. Even if 87 doesn't damage it, you lose a significant amount of power and miles per gallon.
Great Job.

That looks... and sounds like a really fun car.
Did you Enjoy Riding over in my town to Silverton!!
How freakin' hard is it to say AH-bart, my fellow Americans? Damn.
Thanks, I have one now, the Sub really blocks it
Yes you are right.

5 mpg better than our 1995 Cadillac.
Amazing:)

Yes it does have a light in the trunk
Traded in my TT a few months ago...no regrets.
Sweet vid & car Roman!! Love my Abarth!
It's a bit different measurement system they have there in the U.S.. 87 octane in U.S. is like 95 octane in Europe.
Oh, how i love that little Fiat!!
How tall are you Roman? How did you find the visibility over your left shoulder? I've seen a few reviews say the B-pillar gets in the way.
my mom has a fiat 500 how did you like it?
I use 87 Octane - no issues. You can use regular grade gas.
hey guys will yall ever be able to review a 2012 civic si please!??
the normal 500 does not get 34 mpg either and it's smaller and less comfortable than that Prizm was.
3:38 running less than 91 Octane in a turbo? Lunacy at Sea Level, but Heaven at Elevation.
They are in different units -_- Europe uses RON and we use AKI
I second this idea. It would make a great review!
nice old steam train
Wow that gearing appears long.
hope your using a comfortable saddle with that bike and not a 200 gram weight weenie one...
5:23 he says downsift to 3rd but he only goes to 4th? um he knows his gears right?
But how is reliability
not saying anything bad about the video but when he said im going to downshift to 3rd he put it in 4th haha just saying
87 octane.. in europe there is only 95, 98 and 100 octane
Video editing error I imagine.

And 112 octane LPG Gas.
That is crap, I got 34 mpg in a 95 Prizm driving a secondary road from Miami to Orlando going through towns and sustained 65 mph as well.
87 is the cheap stuff
WRX Owner
Wow... In high altitude (like they do in Co) 85 is the cheap stuff.
haha @ 8:10 with the sign.
More Cowbell 👍
Good try Roman
lol i know, i think the lowest in the uk is 93
8:21 - crotch cam haha
get disc brakes on the bike if your gonna race..
Slip that clutch roman!!
This is not economic engine, if you want economic you will buy normal 500 not Abarth.
Fool i already told you who is wrong. :P
Hot daddy.
Get back to reviewing cars
Yes im hopeless man because i don't hiding from truth. You are 100% wrong and i prove that. You have nothing.
