Small town Texas = speeding tickets are the lifeblood of the community. Best to go 5 mph UNDER just to be safe.

not really, if you really drive Texas a lot you'll give yourself getting passed by cops doing 10 over. It just depends on the cop. if they actually pull you over, you'll get a ticket, but they usually don't care
I'd also like to add that in small towns new Mexico it's the same way.
Hell, they'll pill you over for a bad secondary blinker (my car gas the normal headlight-side blinker and fender blinkers. Passenger side fender blinker was bad)

Drive fast while considering other trafficants is fine in my opinion (of course, not in school areas etc. because then you're not considering other people), driving recklessly is a whole other thing.

Yeah, here in Ohio, they're technically not even allowed to pull you over for 5 miles over, and not allowed to issue a ticket unless you're 10 miles over lol
I got a ticket in WA for 45 on 40....
I guess it depends on the limit. 6mph over at 30 or 40 is definitely speeding, but 60 or 70? Too little.
I gotta say though, for the way they were talking to him, he was a pretty cool cop other than the fact that he stopped them for 6 over.

That's the name of the game with the city cops, especially during the first and last week of summer months (typically). Where I live the average speed zone is 35mph I kid you not. Only when you hit the county is it 45+. In the meantime cops are camping everywhere or doing patterns along busy sections humping yer rear bumper just waiting for you to go 31/30 then bust you.
On their part, they do illegal U-turns, don't signal most of the time, talk on their cells, run through reds and go 50 in the 30 zones I've mentioned... and we're a threat, you and I? Road pirates. Paid with our (state taxes) money to steal more of it.

I think its bs that you can get a ticket because other people called and complained about your driving but the cop never witnessed it. I could just have all my friends call and complain about some guy that cut me off on the highway and say he was weaving in and out of traffic and speeding and he'd get a ticket.
it kind of goes against the whole "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" concept for Police to be able to ticket you based on the word of other people rather then them seeing it. It should be law that they have to witness it themselves if it is a petty infraction like speeding, defiantly not anything more serious such as assault, robbery, etc. haha

I know that Rob won't bother fighting the ticket since he has more money than he knows what to do with but if it happened to me I'd fight it because the cop can't prove I did anything and unless all the people that reported it come in as witnesses then I'm sure a judge would throw the charge out.

Any competent judge is going throw it out of court, but for Rob, it's just easier to pay it off versus waste his time fighting it.
I think most cops wouldn’t give a ticket like this most would try to stay behind you hoping you wouldn’t see them and hoping they would see you doing something on their own even if that meant you not using your turn signal to change lanes as a excuse to pull you over. RMOV2 What don't you understand? We have speed limits that haven't changed since cars were on drum brakes and V8's only made 200 horsepower. The laws are outdated all limits need to be raised by 10 to 15 minimum.

A car "race" through the United States doesn't seem that much fun. In most European countries you can at least speed and of course you have Germany. Just the scenery is nicer in the US.

most european highways have higher speed limits. Even China has a speed limit of 120km/h on highways.
Germany's Autobahn is unregulated, but there are tons of trucks and other cars, so speeding then becomes risky.
