Soldiers on drill exercises do have some light-hearted fun as well, in reality they are deadly serious and a joy to watch sometimes for hours on major divisions,l was in the navy, hardly ever did that, but a huge well done and thanks to these fabulous troopers and all those coming up being them, marching on the shoulders of giants, well done and thanks boys!have fun!!!!
Great, fantastic! A stunning video showing "happy Guards" during their training!! Not only you, we're thrilled too. They aren't scruffy at all, that's a drill, they're ok and look enjoying their job. Please, don't criticize. Thank you very much TKGC for the video, and thanks to the kind Guards for allowing you to film. I enjoyed it👏👏
Ex RAF, so appreciate the drill practice and sometimes it does go wrong, but, a bit of a laugh relaxes everyone, so ready to try again = practice makes perfect!
Yes it’s lovely to see them laughing. Wow they march well. And their fire arms are empty. We should never have been told that. It makes them vulnerable.
How times have changed from my time in the guards, no offence to these guys good on you, but beards? I would have been in the glass house with even the slightest bit of stubble, the hat bands are Scots Guards but they look about 5 foot 1 inch tall? had to be 5 foot 10 inch if I remember right in my time, and the Boots? anyway got to move with the times what's gone is gone.
Totally agree. My old Regt have let standards slip. I joined 78 did my time 22 years. Very sad the overall standards in the British Army these days. Politicians have destroyed the Armed Forces.
Terry Thomas film comment apposite - “You’re a shower, an absolute shower”. Thought it was a skit or parody at first. I think it was the amount of beer bellies that got me the most. Wouldn’t have got on a Monty Python sketch.🤡
I left in 1977, different era, different standards. I don’t knock a Brother on what they do. I’m pretty sure that someone who left the Guards in say the 1950’s was not to happy on the 1970 standards I was trained in. Just my opinion💂♀️🪖⛑️🏴🇨🇦
Why are some asses making fun of trainees ? As if they don't understand that people have to be trained when entering the military, its not just automatic.
…..and here was me thinking the army was a uniform service; not only is there a variety of headdress, there’s variety of clothing too. What a bunch of scruffy Scots Guards!
Please don’t comment negatively. These soldiers are currently in training, they are destined to become elite guards, protecting British palaces with honour and precision 🇬🇧
1. There not in training, there full time guardsmen. This is a rehearsal for mounting guard at Buckingham Palace and St James’s palace. 2. Different orders of dress for different ranks and roles. Clearly a scruffy comment from someone who thinks but doesn’t know how they operate.

Even the brave find the time to have a laugh … shows they are enjoying their job ..
Good for you boys 🙏🏻🙏🏻
It’s great to see right! 👍

King's Guard cool and fun.Have laugh😀
Thank you for this video.
You’re very welcome! 😊
Who's that petite person? Is he the guards trainer? Tiny but mighty. I bet they're scared of him 😉
Sweet video. ❤️
We were all trainees sometime in our lifetime. It might look easy but it’s definitely not.
They're not recruits !
Very cool video!! :D
Thanks! 😀
Delightful. What a great video.
Very proud and thankful to every single one of you protecting their Majesties our beloved King & Queen.
Really glad you enjoyed the video! 👏
Wonder what made our formidable Guards laugh! Their voices are very easy on the ear. Thank you.❤🎉🎉😊
I know, right? I wondered too! 👍
@@TheKingsGuardsChannel What???!!! I thought that you caught it and I missed it!! Oh well! WAY above our heads anyway!!!!

They march very don’t they! :) 👏
Who said the fire arms are empty?
This is a practice so not armed.
I completely agree. There are some immediately available.
What about the sharp, pointy thing?
These are fighting soldiers too
It was a VERT "relaxed" drill session.
VERY !

This drill would be below standard back when the guards depot was still open
Totally agree. My old Regt have let standards slip. I joined 78 did my time 22 years. Very sad the overall standards in the British Army these days. Politicians have destroyed the Armed Forces.
Christ, I hated drill . These lads show how it's done , lots of practice and mistakes. They are smart as eggs on the day though. Good on ya!
Drill is like a pill, to be taken twice or maybe thrice a day. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Perhaps have a bass drum to help rehearse?
Yes, I have seen a drum used in the past. There must have been a reason they didn’t use one this time. If anyone knows, please let me know!👍
very complex movement at 2:20, what drill movement is this?
Yes it was new one on me that full screw certainly looked very switched on ?
Oh Dear !😪
One guard without a bear hat
He must have played some entitled card to be excused from wearing it imo.
bearskin....!
Its on his chin
They are not scruffy, they don't wear dress uniform every day
Well said 👏
`*`Don't anou the guard in th the sand coloured beret - SAS
Dear God I've seen week 1 non infantry recruits March better, total disgrace
I left the Guards 50 years ago…….this is embarrassing!
So you were never a trainee ? You didn't have to learn anything ? Amazing.

@@obrien6320 They are definitely not "trainees".

They're not trainees they are meant to be trained soldiers
Yet another example of the dropping of standards within our armed services !
Trainees? Cope
Unshaven Gaurds just look so scruffy to me.
Same with all unshaven men….
Is this training? It looked very sloppy and why all the differnt uniforms happening?
How many times has the palace been broken into? Lots. I didn’t even rate this, as it was untidy lol infantrymen any day
Forgive me but, I heard no laughter, no chuckles or chortling. You British seem to have a very weird way of seeing laughter when their is none.
One doesn't have the proper hat on his head
Please read my response to explain this above.
I wonder how often do they have to trim the red bearskin to stop it getting to long@@debramoss2267

Guessing you don't understand how being a trainee works.
1. There not in training, there full time guardsmen. This is a rehearsal for mounting guard at Buckingham Palace and St James’s palace.
2. Different orders of dress for different ranks and roles.
Clearly a scruffy comment from someone who thinks but doesn’t know how they operate.
A comment from someone who has not served in any branch of the UK armed forces maybe??
5hey are practicing, hence the different standards of dress. It would be rediculous to practice in full no1 dress.
