A great video and an excellent performance from Foot Guards and Band, so amazing to see all them in Wellington drill square! Thank you very much for filming and sharing with us!!
Their beauty makes me weep. Who could not be anything but immensely proud of them and grateful for their service. Love them all to bits. Thank you so much.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I'm curious about how they are making their relative position adjustments, when they turn their heads and shuffle their feet, what measure, in their line of sight is used to correct their position? It seems akin to a single row of soldiers touching the shoulder of the next to make an orderly line, but more complex.
This inspection has a purpose, it is about discipline and following orders. Ultimately, it's the number one factor when they are in a theatre of war, that will keep them and their comrades alive.
Very complicated and all to do presumably with ancient tradition? Utterly amazing the enormous amount of tradition Britain has kept to down the centuries. None of us know what it means but it is obviously very important.
And if taller than that they went into the Queens Company..the ones who in 1966 who handed over to the NZ army who much shorter..operation Powder horn it was called. They were first non British troops to do Guard duties in London I believe. Kiwi greatcoats were all different lengths so Army tailors spent ages getting them all the same length off the ground. As they do with the red tunics and greatcoats...
Moring is there a web page i could go to. To learn the difference in the feathers on their hats. I would like to know each regerment. Thank you glad you seen this.
Try something along the lines of, “British army guards.” You should find information about the plumes and uniforms. Each regiment has their own spacing of buttons on their tunics and insignia on their collars and shoulders
In order of seniority. Grenadier Guards white plume buttons regularly spaced, Coldstream red plume buttons on pairs garter star badge, Scots Guards no plume, buttons in threes thistle badge, Irish Guards St Patrick blue plume, buttons in fours, three leaf clover badge, Welsh Guards white, green, white plume buttons in fives leak badge. Hope this helps
Pre-inspection guard mount at Wellington barracks. This is a regular event before heading off to Buckingham Palace. If anyone is interested, the soldiers take their bearskin caps into the showers and shampoo them. 👍
Don’t forget, inclusion in this day and age really does mean everyone. All these Bandsmen are basically Civilians in uniform, they do four weeks of basic training then they go to Kneeler Hall, the Royal Army amSchool of Music beside the rugby stadium at Twickenham. The Director of music could have come from any Regiment basically it all really depends who is good enough at the time. There used to be a height restriction on joining the Guards, you had to be at least 5’ 9”. But then that was deemed unfair, so the height restriction was lifted.
Immensely admirable, but in the time it took to watch this, these chaps could have cleared the southern coastline from the invading scourges. Civilian matter? Ya think?
Bueno los que somos de otros paises nos parece exótico. Como guando ves el cabio😢de Guardia de India y Paquistan, es un peco menos aburrido.Pero esos Gorros son fantásticos y estan muy graciosos
The foot guard was spot on with its precision drill. But the military band was out of phase. My father marched with TBDBITL. My high school was directed by The Ohio State graduates. They were all sticklers for not being out of phase. I know you put in a lot of practice. This was not meant to be a put down. Just be there done that. I’m short and it happens.
ROTFLMAOPMP give me a tried n true "warrior" a bit dirty n dented any day. I don't want a untried knight in shinny armor that looks like a cute wind up tin soldier GIGGLE
What mess these guards represent not like the guards when they were all more or less the same height ,it looks like scholl training what a pity we have to spoil everything even tradition,it's a bad day for all ex Guardsmen
They are unique and our Kings Guards. They are to be well proud of.
I salute each one!

Wonderful, thank you! Best in the world.
I admire how complex this drills are. How these guards coordinate with so many groups as one . Brilliant job.! Well done!
What a increidible performance and moment from both Footguards and Marching Bands. Even little details. Absolutely amazing to see
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ké son Reyes Guardia???? Kien cobra por esa bestialidad ????
The sights and sounds of the King's Guard are fabulous
So very proud to be British to watch our very own soldiers, makes me go cold with pride of our boys and girls ❤️
Well said sheila ... x

Thank you.
Amazing to watch.
Our Country
Our Soldiers x
👍 and thanks for the privilege of observing.
Another great video to watch thank you very much
This is a minute inspection of their clothes! Pretty nerve racking for the soldiers.
Excellent such processional performances so proud of
Wish John was here to tell us ehat was going on. He explaines everything with his guards and horses names.❤
Yes miss him on other channels but this one is great anyway.
It’s truly beautiful. How do they see under their hats?
The guards have to trim those hats because they do grow on a regular basis!
@@Richard-p8i lol😂
They're caps, not hats.
@BarrySuridge They are referred to as bearskin in the guards 💂♀️
Yeah they calld me and was waiting to do all this to make a video and said well I reckon go ahead with it just one time!

What a load of bull.Seems an awful lots of movements done in separate squads.?
It's also done silently without a command given.
It's the same as touching the shoulder except you imagine the arms distance, very easy. The rest is moving backwards and forwards to be in line
Only the British. ❤
So proud! No one can take that from us!
Rule Britannia! 💜

As well as seeing younger son passing out from Sandhurst with P Harry and HM so proud to see this pomp and ceremony. ❤
Bands of the household cavalry regiments life guards and blues and royals with the Coldstream guards
If I were out there doing all that maneuvering, I'd be so confused I'd bang into the wall with my tuba.
SECOND TO NONE😊
Great motto of the oldest serving regiment I was and still am so so proud to have served in a fantastic regiment red plume fanatic
Coldstream Guards.
This ceremony is very complex, I love it
I love it!
I would have thought it was obvious what was going on , they are being inspected for smartness.
So few of them!!!! So many ......
Yes I agree wonderful 👍👍👍👍👍👍 but what is it about
As I watched this I kept thinking "leave the zoom alone"
I am from germany and like the british tradition like the Guards.
😊❤🌹
If you don t like it, don t watch!
I won't anymore Rubbish
@@richardpearce1065 in English please….

Nearly 1000 years of tradition in fact.
When were beards permitted in the Brigade of Guards? It's like being transported back to the heady days of the Crimean War.
All armed services can now grow beards..don't like them..ugh..
When did they lower the height restriction. They used to have to be 6ft tall

Usually practising for something special
first part of the bugle call is the Regimental signature, second part is the command
Cela part dans tous les sens 🙃
Are these formations planed on paper first?

Guard Mount
Why are the guards taking the small shuffle type steps for?
To get their position in the line up perfect.
Am I wrong? Are guards getting shorter?!
Younger
There are more women nowadays and they are generally shorter and younger looking than the men.
Can someone explain to me what is so super rare about this please ??? … seems very much a usual pre guard inspection to me am I missing something??
I am confused about this as well,???
I’m guessing our videographer rarely catches inspections here or is talking about the household cavalry band being at Wellington barracks.
He always does this, he runs this channel but knows nothing about the Guards
You are correct, there is nothing out of the ordinary@@bethcox6940
@@charlottecunningham2141, gee …… it looked like a lot more than just your normal 'inspection'. 🤷🏼♂️
I still think that allowing them to grow beards is a bad idea, it just doesn't look right.
Let’s go girls
What does the stomping on the ground mean?
It’s just a simple drill move … no particular reason for it … they stamp their feet to symbolise they are standing to attention …
It emphasizes completion of a movement
It also helps with the timing of the drill movements as everybody on parade can hear exactly were they are
This is just simply a Kings Guard with the Coldstream Guards accompanied by the Household Cavalry Regimental Band

I'd like to know to
Is that the Jackson 5?
Are they still bear skin helmets, or synthetic replicas?
The sound first trompe has been more clare than wáter. Pop english your are perfect.
Immensely admirable, but in the time it took to watch this, these chaps could have cleared the southern coastline from the invading scourges. Civilian matter? Ya think?
Wait, that's the end???
The guard march onto the parade….the band shuffle out and form up….
They must have a lot of bear in England, to make all of those bear skin hats.
The hats are made out of bearskins imported from Canada where bears are culled to keep numbers down. Apparently it takes one skin per hat.
J'admire leurs façons de piétiner
I thought Prince William had joined them….Princess Catherine in the green dress in the group at the far door? Or is it wishful thinking'!

No, Who's on 1st, What 's on 2nd😊
They need to ban beards.
Is their a rare sighting? I was shocked..

Why is this so rare????
Shut up in the bakground

I see that the standard of drill has diminished.
The band seems so out of energy compared to guards and not in sync as the guards.
Das ganze ist tabu!!😊
Well, we defeated them twice and then saved them twice.
Nice video. Not impressed with the beards on some of the men. Looks messy.
Band walk on……..SLOPPY
Why are these people talking in the background.???
The Barracks are in the middle of London, close to Buckingham Palace.
They're rude tourists!!!!!😢

Why do they all have afros
