There are 3 pressure points on Earth where things might erupt like a volcano at any moment. Israel vs Palestine is a civilizational war of Jews vs Muslims India vs Pakistan is civilizational war of Hindus vs Muslims North Korea vs South Korea is proxy war USA vs Russia/China. Among these 3 the most dangerous is India vs Pakistan as both are equally nuclear powered. So in case of the existnce is concerned civilizational wars are more lethal. Also considering India and Israel are two of the ancient still continuously living civilizations of the world fighting with a newly made one gives the ancient one more determination of "This is our land"... Palestine is fighting for existence, Pakistan is fighting for revenge without any reason even though its not harmed, North Korea is fighting for power Peace is never an option for these countries unless either of these economically weak countries completely collapses even so there will be problem.

I get the impression that this is synchronised. Each side has to mirror the other perfectly, so neither would seem to have "won" or more importantly "lost" or lose face.
It is synchronized. Choreographed and coordinated there would not be such an large army on one side ife there was not another army on the other side...

I disagree. North America's militaries are neither at war with each other, nor prone to such excess, preferring precision and discipline to flamboyance and disorder. Personally, I know it doesn't get the crowds going like this does but it is truly something to behold and can be both inspiring and intimidating in it's composure and unity. @@yashpallalas8409 Nope, their were no nation before that. Officially Pakistan is older than India but in reality both came in existence during the midnight of April 14th, 1912. Before 1947 there was no nation. Both were a colony of Mighty British empire and even before the mighty Brits came, there was no India. Just many Kingdoms which frequently used to change it's shape!
Great ceremony but I am amazed at how much the area has physically changed, much more built-up, than when Michael Palin, the TV presenter, was here on his Himalaya adventure.
The minister of sillly walks should watch this.
I love it, so much passion and pride for their respective countries

*Though I was curious as to how John Cleese's Goose Step had become a competition between two nations.... ...Both sides were just Absolutely Fabulous!!*

Dude... That was amazing....that is a rare glimpse of national pride.
but 'national pride' (like the nation state) is fiction, a bad fantasy. We better listen to good music, or the philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore and Abai Qunanbaiuly. Be brothers & sisters, and don't make war.

I've never in my life (72) seen any military preform anyway like this, ever! Can you even imagine the United States Marine Corps doing something like this? It boggles the mind.
indian side is not military, its border police which we call BSF(border security force)
Oops ! Russia doens't share borders with USA .
The Indian BSF are a Paramilitary organisation sort of like a border swat team
BSF is just for border and when comes to fighting war or anything then the Indian Army jumps in.
If the US had a land border with the Soviet Union, that would be something both sides would do, just to see who would have more swag and who's drip is stuntin'.

There are 3 pressure points on Earth where things might erupt like a volcano at any moment. Israel vs Palestine is a civilizational war of Jews vs Muslims
India vs Pakistan is civilizational war of Hindus vs Muslims
North Korea vs South Korea is proxy war USA vs Russia/China.
Palestine is fighting for existence, Pakistan is fighting for revenge without any reason even though its not harmed, North Korea is fighting for power
Peace is never an option for these countries unless either of these economically weak countries completely collapses even so there will be problem.
Can some one please tell me how often do these ceremonies take place? Absolutely fascinating thank you.

I get the impression that this is synchronised. Each side has to mirror the other perfectly, so neither would seem to have "won" or more importantly "lost" or lose face.
It is synchronized. Choreographed and coordinated there would not be such an large army on one side ife there was not another army on the other side...

When did they build that huge stadium for this? How did this grow into such a massive spectacle?
I believe it was built somewhere between 2017-2019.
Beating retreat ceremony , was started in 1959 . People from near villages as well as other parts of the country visit here. The stadium , I've seen it since 2014 , it was built earlier than that .
Beating retreat is a must watch whenever anybody visits Amritsar, Punjab it is very close from there, stadium was there when I visited on 2006. It is the only official land gate between two countries. Even non Indian visitors will feel the goosebumps seeing live. 🇮🇳🇮🇳🙏
Correction..
Expanded since '14
I believe the pavillion was built in the 80s. Fun fact- The road passing through the checkpoint is an ancient road called "Uttarapadha" built by Emperor Chandragupta Maurya in 320 BC.

When they opened those gates, that was crazy. This could easily escalate to something really bad. That’s why it’s so incredible to watch. Each country has mutual respect and hatred for one another. And that keeps them from engaging it any further.

This looks like something we should try at the Canada/US border. Some sorta flag pushing ceremony into each other's faces.
With a bit less nuclear threat and war. Just a little
I disagree. North America's militaries are neither at war with each other, nor prone to such excess, preferring precision and discipline to flamboyance and disorder. Personally, I know it doesn't get the crowds going like this does but it is truly something to behold and can be both inspiring and intimidating in it's composure and unity. I've always been proud of our military performances and will continue to be, even without this flamboyance and fanfare.
The Canadian soldiers would be more precise and disciplined .
@@KiltedKrusader i agree with you, i’d rather Canada and The USA cooperating rather than showing off tp each other.
@@toonmag50 it depends on the individual soldier and sometimes weapon they are using. I think both countries have great soldiers, maybe even the best in the world. But, it matters on the individual soldier. Not really nationality.

Thanks for sharing this. It's my hope and prayer that these two amazing countries are able to find a peaceful solution to their on again, off again war that they can both agree upon.
