If you freeze frame when the pictures fall out of the wallet, there’s two things: a lady who looks an awful lot like Lesley, but without scars. And a boy playing a trumpet. Yellow guy played a trumpet in the second episode randomly. Also, the name of the chicken company is the same as the claymation tv program that plays throughout the series Grolton and Hovris. In the family episode; a groltons chicken commercial plays immediately after grolton and Hovris, just like an ad. The Chuddy dollops also appear to be a branded and deliberately placed product. The twins are featured prominently on the package, suggesting a connection to the company that makes them. I’d also note the chuddy dollop bag is one of three items in the attic of the house in the last episode, suggesting it has a much higher importance than people have given it. Also, you hinted at an incest theme. I think that’s important. When they are playing the board game, there is a moment where the camera focuses on a game piece called “Cousins Cabin”. That seems to be a weird and specific reference. Also, the twins admit to having some family secret they can’t share with everyone. The uncle was very specifically highlighted in the family tree room, which I think advances this theory that maybe the twins were molested. Roy himself, as a character, looks like the product of incest. And his appearance in this episode I think is part of whatever story they are trying to tell about this family. The little green puppet also being the father was a super bizarre twist. So the tall guy was actually a brother (the twins specifically greet them brother/father). So shit ain’t right with this family. The whole thing reeks of an incest overtone. The family tree I think also suggests maybe some family members found out what was happening and started getting killed off. Yellow guy makes the bizarre statement at the end of the episode that family is people dying in different places in the same way. I think his comment is referencing all the apparently murdered family members on the tree. I have an overarching theory that this whole series is about the story of this family getting involved with a child’s production company, something with incest, and then a bunch of family murders followed by a coverup. I believe the book was an admission of murdering the family. Lesley knew in the last episode that yellow guy would return downstairs and duck would take his batteries and then they would shred the evidence. When you start to piece elements together, you start to wonder if duck was somehow connected as either a business owner of one of the brands or like an accountant/lawyer to the family in this episode. He talks in one episode about forging documents causing the death of people. Idk. Lot to unpack with this series.

also he orders the food for 2 best friends
the word keeps repeating in yellow guys head eventually getting him to leave to an inner-inner world. in there warren breaks in and asks ´you´re not trying to get rid of me are you? we`re best friends´
after that yellow guy tries to run away from him and he sees warren as a big, scary, manipulative monster until red guy and duck finally get the worm out of his brain.
also warren calls him best friend even tho they barely know each other. when he is going to order the meal he says ` we can get to know each other better` but warren calling yellow guy his best friend so soon makes yellow guy feel guilty about not wanting to be friends with him.
earlier in the episode we learn warren has been bullied, so now he is this creepy manipulative dude who doesn`t want to be alone again and instead of trying to genuinely make friends he just manipulates yellow guy into heing his friend. he is an abusive friend. a worm in yellow guys brain.

I feel like having a character that we'd hate as a teacher doesn't make it actually bad? I like watching it because they all roast Warren and it's hilarious.
I feel this episode is very underrated. And some of its moments are the best. Also when they are online and try to choose between an apple and a pig- why is no one talking how cool was those parts where they were online?
I hate Warren, and that's why I love the episode. He's a really abusive friend because of his past, and I love how he tries to make that a justification of how he treats everyone and tries to make himself the important one, but everybody just keeps inot paying attention to that because they KNOW that's not a reason to get into somebody else's friendship, and it looks like he can't understand why.
I don't really feel pity for him, he got what he deserves. He thinks that having bad friends is a reason te be a bad one (though he doesn't realize he's a bad friend) instead of just being a good friend but in another group of friends who haven't done anything to him.
I find him a good teacher because he's the one that says something that may be right, but he isn't actually doing it, like being a good friend. The guys learn something from him BECAUSE they realize that what he's doing is wrong, and I love it.

To me, I think the family episode feels so different, because whereas the others have their more comedic tone at times, the family episode feels very much like the tense atmosphere of being in an abusive household. The family’s dynamics are all over the place, and everything is wrong (ie the “tea” being so off) but still having to keep up the right appearances for outsiders of the household. To me, that’s why there’s such a focus on why family’s so important, because if it weren’t, then why would bad things be happening in the family (such as the mom being gone, and presumably dead) ? Also the dad being under the kids’ bed and watching the yellow guy sleep has its own horrible implications. I also think that the kids watching the home movies are them trying to relive the “better days”, maybe of when things weren’t so bad. Especially the whole moment where Todney gets upset and yells that he loves his family and they love him, followed by him peeing himself, I think that could be him getting upset that his worldview could potentially be wrong. The environment of the household isn’t love, but because Lily and Todney are so young, they don’t know how to grapple with the fact that it’s possible that their family Doesn’t actually love them, because there is no love in that family, only business transactions, essentially, where other family members have to serve a purpose or give them something to have any worth. The episode centers around them being the teachers, because they’re the young kids who don’t have quite the right idea of what’s going on, but still want to believe that their family is just fine and normal, so they project their idea of what family is onto others, even though it’s unclear, and toxic. If either of them were presented with being questioned, I think a reaction from Todney like before would happen. “Why is there no choice in whether or not we play along with family game time?” “Because that’s the way it is.” See? It’s a similar way the other teachers approach things, but this time, there is a real life parallel. A talking clock can’t walk up to you and explain time poorly, but someone in an abusive household could mention something that happens in their house, and you would question it, but they wouldn’t have an answer as to why that is the way it is.

Roy is abusive to yellow guy because david died as a result of his negligence. Regardless how good or bad of a dad he may have been, all Lesley can remember is that his negligence killed their son.

Family was such a great episode for me, perfectly juxtaposing the dark and disturbing side of the series with its newer comedic approach. The family house is modelled exactly like a dingy lower class British household that I could swear I've visited multiple different instances of in my lifetime, the kidnapping and forced indoctrination of Yellow was super freaky but quickly devolved into me losing my breath from laughter when I realised all of the elaborate and manipulative schemes of the twins was solely to make sure their family was eligible for a family discount from a restaurant they wanted to order dinner from. Roy's appearance was also absolutely hilarious, him yelling "YUM YUM YUM" repeatedly as he attacks the family makes it seem that his only motive for saving Yellow was that he was hungry and wanted to steal the family's dinner, which was both incredibly funny but also really sad since it clearly shows Roy's abuse not as an actively malicious one but instead in the form of neglect as he doesn't care at all for his son's presence and only intervened to help him when it meant he could also gain something from it. Roy isn't any different from the twins and their family as he only seems to see the material values in having a son as well.

Maybe the woman was his mother, and after he was run over, tried to re live time with her son only to become exhausted with keeping it up which is why his batteries are degraded. We see multiple references that YG has become awake and gone upstairs before so maybe she wants to let him move on but instead gets back into the loop of caring for something she made to replace her son. I like that all the episodes are expanded ones from the original videos.
1 - The song and shows death and sadness. In the episode they expand on death and losing things you love and forced to accept new things
2 - The second song is about time. The episode is about losing time by working your life away.
3 - The song is about love and being accepted into a family (ends up being a cult). The episode is about family and peoples versions, that only the accepted one is mum, dad and kids.
4 - The song is about the internet and being sucked into it. The episode is about them wanting to get on the internet and depression and being in your own head
5 - The song is about food. The episode is about travelling. The thing in common with these 2 is they are becoming aware of their surroundings, mostly Red guy at this point and wanting to escape.
6 - The song is Yellow guy just, being tortured at this point. The episode is Yellow Guy being singled out and becoming more aware and going to end the misery but it gets wrecked.
Obviously the last 2 aren't as close as the others, but the themes are there. It's cool.

It's also good to mention that the twins try to use "being family" as an almost excuse to get away with stuff.
The trio are somewhat forced to like the twins, the trio HAVE to follow their orders and if they don't forgive the twins for being wrong no matter what, they get kicked out.
One of the main reasons why abuse from family members is so hard to deal with because of forced fake positivity, there's so many people who are made to put up with family members who treat them like walking garbage solely for the fact that "they're family."

You can tell this because they were trying to get yellow guy to replace her and become the new mother. This could mean that the dad is visibly depressed and grieving his wife, which is why his kids would be desperately trying to help him. It could also explain why the twins look nothing like their family… possibly they are also brainwashed replacements for the dads missing or dead family.

Or maybe because he was the only one who either died of natural consequences, went "missing", or that he cut them off. Red Guy liked the "uncle" place which was described as more distant family.. that isn't missed when they leave. It's sort of what happened to him with his own family (they were okay with seeing him but annoyed at him when he was a bother and didn't care that he left; he ended up cutting ties). One could thus argue that there is a parallel with the uncle (tried to fit in, couldn't, disappeared/cut ties and is dead to them). Of course, the kids being kids did like the uncle but the father and mother might not have hence the "he's dead" explanation: it could have just been a lie so they'd be less sad and wouldn't doubt their view of family. Family doesn't abandon each other after all, right? They have to live like this because that's how family is and family is for life! (Basically I mean that the abusive dynamics are at play)

I mean... not all people like talking about dark themes (and the fandom itself has a bunch of sensitive people, which baffles me), but... this is a horror series, if you're only going to talk about the humor aspect... what's the point of the series being horror-comedy? I think this is why i don't like the pilot too much, it is a boring snore fest with only snit pits of comedy and dark tones, while being more lighthearted and not as claustrophobic as it used to be, unlike the TV Show. Roy is the kind of dad that has no love for his son whatsoever, but still will protect him at all costs. In DHMIS 6, he appears because he sees yellow guy freaking out in his bedroom because of red guy messing with the controls of the machine. He comes in to stop red guy from touching stuff that he isn't meant to know about, and tries to stop red guy before he pulls the cable to the machine, and seems to reset the entire DHMIS universe and plot. And in this episode about family, he's showing lily and todney's family that he is yellow guy's family, and they aren't. Its like he hired the twins and their family to teach the students about family, only to betray Roy and hold yellow guy captive as their mother. Roy is basically saying "You betrayed me, so you'll get what you deserve." Before presumably killing and eating the whole family alive. He's always seen in the background of episodes, but only really appears as a real up close character when his son is in trouble or upset.

Out of all the episodes, the family one always unnerved me the most. I mostly blamed it on the unusual and uncanny puppets used

The twins and Warren The Eagle both seem like they weren't meant to be teachers but rather just showed up. To be fair though, the twins did have more of a set up. Unlike Warren The Eagle who just sort of showed up and is 110% just a parasitic brain worm. Still, the twins are openly predatory and there isn't really a lesson in what they're "teaching." They just ensnare Yellow Guy in their trap to exploit him as their new "mother." This is just rampant speculation but it's almost like there was another lesson planned for that episode, maybe something about sharing, and the twins just sort of found their way in.

There is other theory that Roy killed yellow guy when he was a child and he made him puppet friends. Something like that.

I feel like seeing the matpat theory icon almost invalidates any theory one might have, due to the subconcious connection of patpat a: not knowing the defenition of the word "theory" as he misuses it constantly and b: the *fact* that he will take any bullshit and call try to peddle it for clicks and veiws. it'd be like saying "reputable company" and showing the logo for watersons and son's bits and parts limited.

Nah. You just dislike them for being popular and mainstream. Idk why everyone tries to skirt that fact. I'm very meh on film theory, but im not about to make up weakass reasons why i dont like them.

Ever since watching this episode I've been wondering whether or not chuddle dollops are a real thing?? It sounded like two made up words squished together but it scares me to think that could be a real thing British people eat....
