- In the shorts and series of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, the teachers are the ones who teach the main trio about various topics, presumably for no reason at all and always out of nowhere. But these beings are not as they seem, and they bring upon the strangest experiences for our main trio. So we must ask the question, which teachers are the most good and/or evil to the puppets? Let's find out!

Edit: Just to let you all know, I had to trim out Colin's introduction segment from the video because it caused a copyright claim, and I would really prefer to have a squeaky clean channel free from any claims or restrictions. It’s also pretty important to have control over my videos, which copyright doesn’t allow. It was just the start of the Computer song by the way, dang.

The fact that most of the teachers in the first half are from the TV show proves how much the teachers changed in the TV show
Yup, they became a lot less antagonist towards the puppets, likely since the machine was unplugged and they gained free will again.
@@Endore5000 not to mention that the teachers in the TV show spreads a lot less misinformation than half of the teachers in the original YT series

I love electracy!! she genuinely loves her job and really deserves the highest on the good list :)
She was super optimistic and kind, no wonder she actually taught them well and made them love electricity!

One reason I love episode 5 is because how uncomfortable it makes me.
It makes me feel terrified of what the Meat man and the Spinach can are going to do.
And I love how they targeted Duck and just kept touching him and basically stabbing him.
What also adds to the eerie feeling is how cheerful the Healthy Band kept behaving while Duck keeps getting even more afraid, like he knows something bad is coming but doesn't know how to get away.
It feels oddly closer, and the fact the meat man is played by a human makes him look so much stronger and intimidating.

There IS actually another pro for business bag. At the end of the episode, He calls his brother just “brendon” instead of “unemployed brendon” Showing he does actually care for his brother.

Like, showing them what will happen if they don't get employed
Not the nicest thing to do
But I don't think he always calls Brendon unemployed
Just for the lesson
That honestly leans him more towards evil for me, because he's showing that he could've been nice to him whenever he wanted to, he just chose not to.
24:03 I’d like to add on to this point with a quote from “Death.” When Stain Edwards mentions falling in love, Yellow guy negatively reacts saying, “ FALLING IN LOVE?! What’s it say?!”

I guess they were tenderizing him for the feast! Creepy
They have 10 cons :
Giving incredibly inaccurate teachings about healthy eating
Steak keeps poking Duck with a fork (foreshadowing)

All invading his personal space (because he's their victim and target)
Ignoring that nothing is making sense in the lesson and that he is uncomfortable

electracy is genuinely just sweet and nice. she ripped the hampster in half but she was just curious about if it was electric. and she electricuted him but that was kinda yellows fault. he asked if they could make the chair an electric chair, so they did.
True, she never has ANY ill will towards the puppets even when she actually had the right too. She’s a sweetheart.
To be honest I feel like ripping a hamster in half purely to see if it's electric kind of comes off as psychopathic. Choo Choo and Electracey should be swapped around imo

I'm so glad you've pointed out how scared Yellow Guy is towards Shrignold, cause Yellow Guy didn't seem to have that reaction towards Tony The Clock who literally made him and his friends die.
And now looking back in Episode 5, oh god, Steak and The Healthy Band were really touchy towards Duck, so you really can't blame Duck for being so uncomfortable with what's going on. Also, to point out one thing, their song feels like they keep making lyrics up in-order to prevent Duck and Yellow Guy being suspicious of them (noticed how they kept cutting off Duck when he questions them?), and we all know what happens next...
It seems as if the Healthy Band were making sure that Duck never gained consciousness. As they got nervous whenever he had to answer the “wake up calls”.
And then when he did, they don't give a feces and carry on.
I personally think that Red and Duck didn't say anything especially mean about Yellow in the friendship episode. Think about it: they don't censor anything else in the show, the characters speak softly, and it fits perfectly with the theme of the episode.
Anything sounds terrible if you bleep it, so "it's not fault that you're BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" sounds like something horrible but could be "it's not you're fault your memory isn't the best", ie something well meaning that could sound terrible in the ears of someone with a worm in their brain telling them everyone actually hates them.
That said, nothing disproves the obvious conclusion that they just said something absolutely horrible either, they absolutely could have, but it's my personal interpretation anyway.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
I would love to hear the uncensored recordings of the lines and we learn they just said random words because they knew they would be censored.
“It’s not your fault, you’re just a spaghetti.”
@@Endore5000 could see it being a meta-joke, like "it's not your fault you're a yellow felt puppet thing", and his reaction is just yellow having his mind blown
Honestly, I think they coukdnt actually write something mean enough that Red and Duck havent already said.
That or by implying a horrible insult that they had to censor it, our brain fills in the blanks. Anything else could feasibly make them look less awful to some people and they are meant to be kinda awful in that episode
@@mudawott I think that's completely possible too. I doubt they would say definitively that it's one or the other since the creators love different interpretations so there likely isn't any wrong one :)
Maybe it was Warren who did it
Btw, Colin is the real hero of the episode warren the eagle. He was the one who asked if they wanted help and gave them the idea. Thanks Colin 💕💕💕
Yup, Colin was mvp in that episode!
Just another mini thing to point out: Yes Warren did teach some good things however he also had some awful advice, in the "How this SHOULD have happened" bit of the episode, he has Yellow immediately meet the disrespect with aggravation and demands rather than calmly try to work it out, which are two things that escalate an argument into a fight the quickest, but other than that, you did an amazing job with ranking the teachers!
Well hey, thanks for enjoying it!
@@Endore5000 You're welcome! :D
Also the said thing I said escalated a fight at the very end with "DON'T SAY THAT TO ME!" And than the giant fight broke out, proving Warren had also gave them misconceptions about working out problems ☠️✨

Warren is a nasty teacher. He's very self-centred throughout.
@@Nakia11798 THAT TOO- He bothers the group while they're trying to do computer day. Sure, at first he has a good point of "Oh yellow shouldn't be treated like that." But it just goes down hill.
Also I noticed he never points out that red shouldn't have been mean in the first place, just makes yellow talk back. Can't teach kindness if you don't show it
11:51 just want to point out she definitely played a pretty big part in that. You can see in the flashes of puppet to real that the puppets are full on seizing, all of that is in their heads. The notebooks plan was to teach them that to be creative is to obey the typical ideals of being creative, this is why she deems green uncreative and ruins the clown painting with oil, because she doesn’t deem them creative, thus they aren’t creative because the teacher says so - kinda like in an school art class.
She is straight up evil
I see what you're saying but I feel like those shots of the puppets shaking around were there to add to the eerie insanity that starts going on. Besides once it all ends, Sketchbook leaves them alone because of everything that happened. It's not like she gained anything from it.
3:42 Choo-Choo’s cane coming out of nowhere always makes me *giggle*

I can't tell my friends I love them because it's taken the wrong way by almost every group and that's not nice. I skip that episode as the only part I liked was when red said "we love you". I don't like the twins either because they think family is just "genetics" when family can be your friends or a community going through things together and taking care of eachother
personally I'd argue that notebook is worse than you gave her credit for, she didn't hesitate to cut Yellow off when he was doing something she didn't approve of, so the fact that she let them go where they did implies that it was what she wanted, possibly to scare them away from being creative themselves.
I mean maybe, we never get a clear understanding of what happened but it’s not like she made the puppets become evil, it seems like they just took things too far themselves and she wanted to put an end to the insanity.

A very likely explanation to the teachers would be that they were real people that ended up dying. In turn, they would turn into their favorite animal or object. This is proven in episode 2 of the tv show when the lamp explains that most people that die return as their favorite animal or object. So the notepad would’ve been an artist of some sort, tony would’ve loved time or been fascinated by it, shrignold was a lover or a cultist, colin was a tech or computer guy who loved the internet and tech, spinach and meat guy were probably chefs or something of the sort that enjoy healthy eating, and lamp shade just loves to sleep or dream.

Seeing how evil some of the teachers actually are compared to the majority that are either good or neutral, it just makes you feel sorry for the main three that had to go through all this trauma. Lily and Todney were just creepy even before they began showing their true colors at the end of the episode right before Roy ended their existences, for example. When it comes to Shrignold, either he's going through a schizophrenia episode and brainwashed many of the love cult members into worshipping Malcom, which he made himself, or Malcom existed and decided to start the love cult by brainwashing Shrignold first and making him spread the false words of this "love" to others. And they nearly succeeded with brainwashing Yellow Guy as well. Healthy Band were completely evil from the start, even when not under the machine's influence, though I kept hearing "Help me" from Steak in the Electricity episode instead of "Healthy" but that's just my opinion anyway. And it definitely makes sense for many of the teachers to just be chill whether under the machine's influence or not. I mean Colin was chill even when under the machine's influence, he just hated to be touched at that moment but by the time we see him again in the Friendship episode he seems more open about the whole being touched thing again, so there was probably trauma on his part as well, most likely caused by Roy. All in all, DHMIS is a great series and deserves even more popularity than it currently has. It's a shame that Wakey Wakey got cancelled but we definitely got made up for it in the TV series.
Yeah, DHMIS is certainly something special!
The reason why colin has trauma is because roy watched porn on him
i knew tracy was gonna be the lowest! And your art is adorable too!
Electracey was lowest without a shadow of a doubt! Thanks by the way!
I love how even though Shrignold is in second place of evil, he never raises his voice, he never is shown to be threatening, he is calm and collected all throughout his episode even when his true intentions of the cult are shown and in my opinion that just makes him all the way more terrifying.
He is shown always using this sweet voice towards Yellow Guy, in my perspective he uses this to seem more trustworthy.
In episode 6 when Shrignold pops up he isn't even looking directly at yellow guy, nor is he directly singing to him. He's just rotating his head left and right and singing his song but even so Yellow Guy is terrified by him by literally screaming no.
Those angelic "aah's" that can be heard in the ep 6 version of the love song makes it sound more heavenly and makes the song sound more better imo
But the only time he screamed previously was when with Colin but that was because he turned into his digital self which confused him, but with Shrignold he literally SCREAMS no.
It may just be me but the fact if I was Yellow Guy I probably would have fallen into the same trap he did makes me more scared of Shrignold.
But hey, his song is fire and I love him.
Shrignold was truly a manipulative monster, and due to his calm and calculated method of running the cult, it makes him all the more evil. His song as you said though, is amazing.
Colin was a pretty good teacher that genuinely taught the puppets and was good in the tv series, however any puppet from what I like to call the “olden days” (the web series, the name was gotten from Tony’s song) is bound to be at least a little evil overall, even if none of the olden day teachers are aggressive now
Yeah, even if the old ones are mostly good now, still gotta consider past actions.
I like to imagine after the teacher’s debut episode, the teacher will just stick around in case they might eventually be needed (evidence includes sketchbook’s cameos in almost every episode. lamp, tony & colin having speaking roles in season 2, and fridge, of course being in the background of the kitchen.
I have this feeling that every teacher is already inside the house, spying on the trio at any given time. They just hide indefinitely until a situation pops up so they can give a lesson.
@@Endore5000that would probably mean that Gilbert would still be there like "hey I'm here you know" lol
Warren has got to be the most despicable to me. He's super self centered, pretends to be a friendship expert but he totally isn't, invades and corrupts Yellow's brain safe space (with SIOB's suicide being the worst example of it) because it gives him that attention and power he's addicted to. Though The Healthy Band is a close second, you really feel Duck's discomfort throughout the whole episode.
Warren is very despicable and rotten but probably not enough to put him over the Healthy Band who gutted out Duck and fed him to Yellow Guy.
Heres one of the cons of the lamp:

3:29 yellow looks so proud of that home made cardboard guitar and looks at us like do you like it I made it all by myself
He worked so hard on it.
I love it
Is anyone going to talk about those AMAZING little drawings for each character like jeez he is a great artist
Aw shucks, believe me when I say a lot of people have brought up how much they like the art, and every time it’s very much appreciated!
@@Endore5000 👏👏👏👏👏
aaaaa I loved this, the art is so cute and your voice is quite nice to listen to you’ve earned another sub, hope to see more DHMIS content in the future :)
Hmm, more DHMIS ey? I could definitely find more to talk about from the franchise but this is likely the extent of that for now. I’ve got so much more planned, just you wait and see!
Glad you enjoyed too!
I feel like if Electracy were humanoid, she would be a really high tech and futuristic robot that wears 80s style clothing
Very likely. And her favorite song would be “Sledgehammer”.
Man, Electracey seriously looks, sounds and acts like the coolest fucking friend in the group
Briefcase: Traps the main characters in a hell dimension for 40 years and allows yellow guys hand to be violently crushed by machinery before erasing a child from existence
Endore: he's a bit on the neutral side, more good than bad
Haha, you know, it really does sound so much worse when summed up in a sentence. Although to be fair, they enjoyed basically their entire time there until the end. It was really the sudden reset that was messed up for Briefcase to do.
@@Endore5000 Tell that to the carehound
How dare you put Shrignold in second! Joking LOL, in all seriousness this video was great and really interesting! I watched all the way through which is something I usually don’t do especially with videos over 20 minutes. Great job :)
Very happy to know you enjoyed the video that much!
I know this doesn’t help Steak’s case at all but when he’s in that dark room running it looks to me like he’s been traumatized or has gone mad either from being trapped there or from the memories of what he did while the machine was still active before episode 6. Like maybe he’s just a little bit less evil without the machine’s influence where he wouldn’t KILL duck but would still do the other stuff? 😅
Perhaps Steak was… was uh… yeah I have no idea. He seemed to be off though.
The creative teacher was honestly good!when everything went wrong she even said “let’s agree to never be creative again”
Fun fact: coffin was the only teacher who did not sing
Yup, probably has something to do with the fact he’s the only teacher not voiced by a mainstay of the DHMIS crew. He’s voiced by a British actor who’s actively in other stuff, and maybe he can’t sing.
Your art style is so cute that I wish DHMIS was a 2D cartoon like that. Also, love your commentary on the teachers!
Well glad you love the art!
Extremely glad I stumbled upon this video, excited for more content from this channel.
Well I'm happy you enjoyed it and I hope what comes next is to your liking!
My favorite channel ! 🎉
16:51 i love how you kept in the joke that he identifies as an eagle despite… well… not… being that.
I’ll gladly respect whatever Warren wants to identify as, the evil dirtbag.
Lamp uses weed as “being sober” in my head canon because the cancel sounds like something a stoner would say and in the web toon he is obviously drunk
He was definitely on something, his eyes were also quite crossed and spread, probably wasn’t even thinking properly.
@@Endore5000 I mean your drawing did make him look dizzy and what if Lamp’s dancing on the other side wasn’t as nice as you thought what if in Lamp’s mind he was still next to yellow guy.
I feel like you could do an amazing Jan Misali impression
I’m not sure who that is but ok.
Also the artwork behind sketchbook and electracey are cute 🥺
Alphabet lore: I am the most popular video on RUclips Dhmis teachers good to evil:are you sure about that me:both of the videos are great 👍 100000/100 for both it's a 👔
Thanks for appreciating the art!
This video made me realize how many teachers bully and outright traumatize Yellow Guy. The others have been too- it’s a bit scary how much Yellow is just pushed around throughout the entire series. 😟
Yeah he’s really the punching bag of the trio, the shield against the teachers.
Ep1- ruined painting, green is not a creative color
Ep2- died
Ep3- almost joined the cult of malcom
Ep4- get brainwashed by collin(according to matpat)
Ep5- forced to eat his own friend
Eo6- *mental torture*
Ep7- lost his arm and his kid
Ep8- he got insulted by the coffin for his singing
Ep9- *mental torture 2 electric bogaloo*
Ep10- the whole cast insulting him(exept collin)
Ep11- got hit by a car(in dream), expectations ruined
Ep12- getting electrocuted by a chair, losing his new batteries, didnt got to read the book lesley gave him*
Bread in the healthy band is actually very peaceful especially in the family episode.
I think the Bread in family is Bread Boy's wife and kids.
@@Endore5000 oh, either way they didn't do much wrong.
Sketchbook is like an elementary school bully that you still hang out with
Yeah basically
@@Endore5000 You’re one of the reasons why I got back into DHMIS. Thank you!
0:36 “And we HAVE finished the chicken picnic..” +sudden realization+
Now they should look for their friend. Isn’t that what friends do?
Boi I just ate my family
What about Roy and Leslie?
Wait, never mind I’m pretty sure they are the principles
Ah yes, really the only rules is that the ranking was of the main teachers of all 12 episodes. So 12 spots for the 12 teachers and also their assistants if they have any.
Principals*
Roy was probably worse than Lesley.
Brendon is adorableeeeeeeeee 😢😢 mostly his voice :)
He is adorable ain’t he.
Agreed
The puppets: STOP KILLING US!!
Tony: I’m a prop.
But eventually everyone runs out of time.
My personal headcannon as to why lamp is different from the web series is that he was supposed to teach it but forgot what night it was supposed to be and ended up getting black out drunk, and the aftermath was just a result of that.
How unprofessional of him.
I think this is the first video I’ve watched about dhmis where I agreed with literally every single sentence and detail the entire time
Well good to know that we see eye to eye
15:34 larry just got sober lol
Trueing
If you think about it the briefcase didn’t abandon them since he’s hiding inside the first aid kit and usually if you get hurt in work you get to go home so he was right when he said they did a good job since nobody got hurt in 40 years
Well even if he didn’t technically abandon them, the fact he resets the timeline is still very messed up. Especially towards Yellow Guy and his family.
@@Endore5000 I mean that’s the point isn’t it though even if you get injured at work most places still would want you to come in the next day and then irking in a factory is just the same thing everyday
12. Eltectracy- I agree with you expect the fact that she is pretty pushy at first. Other then that she a good little electric box thing.
11.Mr. Choo choo- Agree
10. Colin the Computer- He is nice but he is still pretty cruel when he want to be.
9. Coffin- I love how chill he is and he only act rude after been push too much. He should have been nice to Yellow Guy though.
8. Sketchbook- They are such a sweetheart and one of my favorite. Yeah, they can be a bit of jerk but you can tell sketchbook love what she does.
7. Breifcase- Nice man, it obvious he just trying to help. I agree, the fact he left them for 40 years and reset time rub me bad.
6. Lamp- To me he not the quote on quote evil, more of someone who was told to do something and just did it with out know what going on.
5. Warren- HE IS THE MOST EVIL OF ALL, just kidding. He is definitely pushy and a hypocrite but he is trying to help and only want a friend. Too bad, he doesn't know how to be a polite and respectful friend.
4. Tony the clock- To me he another teacher who was told to do something and just did it. After the machine was unplugged, he seem to redeem himself by being polite and leave them be.
3. The twin- Yes, they are evil and it obvious that they kill their old mother.
2. Shringnold- He a cult leader, of course he evil.
1. Healthy band- Yeah, they are bad in their teachers and do kill Duck, but I would say they do have one pro: They encourage taking care of yourself, even if it the wrong advice. So in my opinion they are better then the Twin and Shringnold, possibly Tony and Lamp as well.
To me, most of the teachers aren't really evil but misguiding which causes issues; and maybe some are evil/cruel because they are misguided themselves.
Overall, a good ranking video and I agree with most of it.
Thanks for the insight, glad you enjoyed the video!
bro... THEY FEED YELLOW GUY WİTH DUCK! AND MONSTER CANS EAT DUCK TOO!
But that still doesn't change the fact that they forced cannibal to yellow guy on duck and the first time we saw the steak he was stabbing duck and it's still bad that they are killing duck or anyone and not to mention steak said to yellow guy Ice cream beef makes your teeth turn gray and Ice cream beef is yellow guys favourite food so he practically insults yellow guys favourite food ruclips.net/video/tS_Xq7gSCBM/видео.html 4:44 yellow guy barley said I choose Ice cream beef Steak says Ice cream beef makes your teeth turn gray Becky Solan said Ice cream beef was yellow guys favourite food and like I said before steak guy said yellow guys favourite food makes your teeth turn gray so I take that as an insult.
Fair enough, but I would still put them at the same level as Shringnold and the twins.
Personally, I think that the briefcase did not mean to abandon them, and just got carried away with his song, forgetting them, and was looking for them the entire time during that episode
I’m not sure if staying silent on the wall in a medical kit counts as looking for them.
@@Endore5000 when was this?
Like, when did that happen?
Personally, I'd rank Tony as above Lily & Todney, as well as Shrignold & Friends. Shrignold & Friends seem more Briefcase esque - heavy underbelly of unkindness, but a general overtone of kindness - which, whilst ultimately insideous, was genuinely not as evil. And as for Lily & Todney, they've always stricken me as more victims of an extraordinarily unpleasant family tree.
Well the thing is Lily and Todney are both literal monsters so they didn’t show any signs of being any better.
Scariest parts about lily and todney is that they are the most humanoid teachers in all of dhmis.
There was no kindness when it comes to shrignold and the cult. Any kind of kindness shown was only to groom yellow into joining the cult. There's nothing but evil with them.
Colin deserves #1. He gave the boys access to the internet for a day a year, loves them, makes them a rad computer, and hasn't seriously hurt anyone. He's just misunderstood.
Well I appreciate the feedback and find it interesting you feel that way.
None of these can compare to the pure evil that is Roy though. In fact, some people theorize that he was the one to feed Duck's innards to Yellow, since we know he likes to torture his son
Roy definitely has some dark secrets.
I love how you Implied Shy Imaginary Older Brother’s death as “canceling his life subscription” That’s very funny.
Definitely one of the darker jokes I've ever made.
@@Endore5000 And yet, you won me over :)
Colin is my favorite character within the entire series.
A great pick!
Pro for steak and the band (mostly for bread): bread has PB and J Jars as drums and I respect that
Bread Boy is the pro basically!
This video is so good for being the first video on this channel, you can tell how much effort was put into this, love this vid
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!
Great production value for this video, from the audio to the visual editing. Great work!
Aw shucks, thank you. I think my editing could have been better but hey, practice makes improvement and I can only get better from here!
0:36 I was expecting the clip of him singing about his shredder 😭
Wanna know a secret? That was originally the plan. But then when I realized it was going on for way too long, I changed it. Gotta keep the video rollin.
Good video! Definitely would have rated Notepad lower than Coffin. They were a nice teacher out of their element and was only a bit rude to Yellow Guy. Coffin definitely sort of buried Duck alive a bit.
Well I appreciate the feedback.
I honestly predicted that the food teachers would be in 1st place and I was somehow right...
I mean to be fair, who else would it be.
I love this video! Very well done. I think episode one is the scariest, because of when the characters turn into humanoid forms of themselves. That part still gives me nightmares ever since I watched it 5 years ago.
That’s how you know it’s effective horror, you think about it years after it.
Something I noticed about Coffin-
Coffin doesn’t necessarily sing about death, nor does he ever go into any theme song of sorts. Whilst every other teacher we’ve met sings about what their gonna teach the puppet trio.
He seems to dislike music, seeing how he plugs up Yellow’s trumpet playing.
So, my thought about Coffin, he probably overall takes his job so seriously to the point where Music isn’t really necessary for him-
Also Coffin was voiced by a completely new actor compared to the rest, which also makes him stand out. He's very unique.
@@Endore5000yeah!!:D💜
Love the fact that the mixels rush theme was in the background
A couple of em too. The prominent one for Sketchbook was Land of the Munchos.
I love how the most evil teacher from the TV show are literally demons and the most evil in the RUclips show and in general is a giant lump of meat😂😂
I fuckin love the art, here, great work! Super rewatchable video
Aw thanks, glad you like the art too.
