I legit had a nightmare about these guys once.
I think it was about them chopping up the three main characters and shoving them into a giant toilet to explain to them how digestion works.

I'm just imagining their bits being shoved into an obnoxiously large toilet and its hilarious
DHMIS 5 is easily the darkest of the lot, both web shorts and TV. It's very much where in Roy, the hidden antagonist of the shorts, began upping his game in his quest to send his son to "punishtown", with bogus information, canning, and forcefeeding.

The thing that made me laugh the most in DHMIS 5 was the steak guy putting his arm around the duck. I don’t know why but there’s something hilariously unhinged about it.
Warren can be sympathetic in someways and you can see him becoming a good person if he actually self-evaluated himself. The Twins, while scary and off putting, just wanted to use Yellow Guy to get a family meal. The Healthy Band, on the other hand, managed to break the main cast.
So yeah, agreed. They’re the most evil.
I used to interpret the food band's were there to threat duck from asking too many questions.
With "detailed food" they meant asking for details, "teeth go gray" is like they gonna kill revealed by the skull with grey teeth, the "body is like a house" was referring to the show itself that get clogged up when someone starts asking for the details and he throwing the mannequin at the floor and stepping on it is a more direct threat to show that they can actually do some damage.
most of the teachers don't feel inherently malevolent, rather very dumb and confused. these guys are like the only ones seemingly purposefully gaslighting you and trying to kill them
I think Shrignold is gaslighting Yellow Guy also though, but not cause he wants to kill him, but cause he wants him to join the cult
The whole "makes your teeth go gray," phrase always cracks me up, not only because they say it so many times in the song but that it also quickly loses any sort of meaning or consistency. I'm actually kind of reminded of This House Has People In It where Lynks Disease in-universe is inconsistent about what exactly it does, how to catch it or cure it.
Wasn't it also implied Lynks Disease doesn't even exist, and all the people who supposedly have it are freaking out over nothing?

The healthy food bamd definitely feels like they are the most unhinged.
I can't pick a favorite "teacher," although Tommy and Lily from the tv series are high up there. I do love this episode though, I sometimes sing their song while I myself am in the kitchen lol
In the TV show when the power goes out you can still see steak running around hitting a pot with a spoon talking about healthy foods, so that means he wasn't influenced by the machine like the other teacher's so he was already evil.
Duck did sort of get revenge by toasting one of Bread Boy's kid.
But bread boy didn't do anything wrong

One theory I heard of was that the types of foods that the healthy band was slandering were foods commonly associated with a more healthy diet, while the foods they were promoting were much more fatty and high in calories. They were trying to fatten up duck guy before they ate him.
Given what happened to the Healthy Band in the TV series last episode. I’d say they got what they deserves
In the web series they were the victims, and in the show (which I believe is canonically after the webseries) they retaliate and are mean to the teachers.

Also, you could argue they want to teach that eating meat and vegetables is bad because they are meat and vegetables, they don’t want to be eaten and therefore die.
Imagine chilling in the house, only to be visited by some food, that sings to you about eating disgusting unhealthy food, and then eat you

Can I just say, I watched this episode before I was done with middle school, and I was left so broken that it took way too long for me to stop crying, and it took years for me to ever touch anything in this series again!

I've loved DHMIS since i was like 9. I couldn't sleep at night after watching episode 5, but that probably just built character 👍

I saw a comment on the original video saying that their teaching could be an analogy of an eating disorder. I don't have one but I can agree.
Something that genuinely I only thought of when you pointed out the pattern of foods they don’t like, maybe they don’t like people eating meat and vegetables, maybe it’s because they are those things and don’t want to be eaten

The Healthy Band Teachers are the stuff of nightmares
I remember hating the Healthy Band because they just wouldn’t stop touching Duck! They were going into his personal space and it was stressing me out! Poking him, putting their arm around his shoulders, blocking his view… it didn’t help that Duck was so clearly uncomfortable, pushing them away and telling them to stop. It was probably one of the most uncomfortable moments of the series for me.
Actually, Lilly and Todney are my favorite teachers.
The healthy band are the most evil teachers in the series, atleast the teachers, in the tv show had some personality and became more fleshed out, I can,t wait for you to make another video.

Basic opinion I know, but my fave is Colin. "GOOD QUESTION!" is a quote the pops in my brain so many times and makes me laugh every time.
Anyway, my read on the Healthy Band is they represent the government espoused nutritional guidelines programs that seem to routinely change in often contradictory ways over the years, partly because of our evolving understanding of the science, but largely due to interference from various food industry lobbyists. Eating healthy really should be as intuitively simple as author Michael Pollan's "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants," but much of society has been inundated with authoritative food pyramids (that originally suggested 8-12 servings of bread and pasta PER DAY!), as well as flashy ads for processed foodstuffs that all but promise to be cheap, easy to prepare, and healthy. It can be overwhelming, and many of us in the western world are so disconnected from the food that we don't know what we're putting in our bodies at this point

To be fair, there's something that could be said about the fact that "soil foods" and "meats" are considered unhealthy foods that shouldn't be eaten...according to a Spinach Can and Meat Man. Though, there is just like. a bread boy puppet in there, so who knows if this idea is worth its salt.
My favorite teacher is the time child. Enough said.
