I remember being the show's official captioner for four years. Back then, virtually no RUclipsrs were captioning their videos and the auto-captions were a complete joke. At the time, I was very happy to make at least one web series accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing!
Surprised the show is still going on! I personally find it kind of sad that Daneboe gave up on his Gagfilms channel. I started to feel like he was putting too many eggs in one basket (no food pun intended!) with the Annoying Orange. Glad some kids still enjoy it, though, and I really hope Dane the best when it comes to his RUclips career!
Face it. Annoying Orange is a cash cow. And it's a motherfucking *_nightmare._*

Should have taken notes from "Llamas with Hats". Episode 4 was clearly meant to be the end, and it only went on because of the fans demand. Even so, the creators really kept hitting harder and harder on the point that they already topped themselves and the show could never be as good. Episode 10 finally ended things in a way that made it clear to even the deafest of ears that this was it!
And then it became a sweatshop of outdated trends that don't even bother to shake things up a little. The variety is as lacking as vanilla ice cream. New episodes pop up daily NONSTOP. Surely that would drive anyone to the brink of either insanity or suicide; there is no in-between.
and then they still pushed and then it capped off at 12. And man...that really was one hell of a way to end it, indirectly referencing Episode 2.
I'm just surprised that the quality was still consistent for llamas with hats.
Anyone else feel bad for Daneboe? He's the CEO of his own company and had his own personal channel, but now is forced to be crate AO to stay relevant and make money.
Daneboe might need to consider therapy at this point.

I remember the mango episode really twisting the series on its head, where it reveals Orange is really annoying and using humor as a coping mechanism for all the carnage he’s seen with all the friends he’s lost and is hurt by their deaths as nothing but perishable food to be consumed, and it does get to him as he lets go of the memories from those in previous episodes, and it was a refreshing perspective on the character and seeing him be reasonable, but of course that wasn’t too last
I was a fan of AO once, but I stopped watching it around 2014. There’s only so much of it I could take before I decided that enough was enough.

For me it got to be a bit too much when the CN show came out. I was switching from the show to the web series a lot but was honestly watching it less by 2012, and then I just stopped watching and liking it completely somewhere in early 2014.
I’m so happy I later moved on to much higher quality content after that talking citrus🍊couldn’t do it for me anymore.
And just like everyone on RUclips with success, if you go to big, people will stop caring, but why stop when you have new fans to take place of the old ones?😕🤷🏻♂️
I feel ya, 2010-2014 were pretty much the only good ones. 2015-2016 were ok to meh, but starting in 2017 was when the decline REALLY began
This was a bit of a weird nostalgia trip for me. I too was one of those kids who was for some reason absolutely obsessed with Annoying Orange thanks to my aunt getting me interested in it. It was to the point where I then proceeded to watch EVERY SINGLE AO SHORT AT THE TIME. Most of the ones that appealed to me were the ones that thrived on the surrealist humor and involved the side characters bouncing off with the protagonist more often than not. Eventually I moved on to better things but I can't help but look back at the Annoying Orange like the strange internet animation phenomenon that it once was.
when I was 5, I was laughing hysterically at Annoying Orange. Watching it now, I can't believe I was laughing at this. It's kinda sad.

I still want to give AO credit though. It’s a channel that makes high budget videos and it tries to be funny. However, the jokes finish short from the finish line and only the youngest demographic of kids would laugh at these videos. DaneBoe deserves better than this.
@@Carson_TK I watched annoying Orange when I was 5 or 6 and I can’t believe things had changed over the years for AO.
It was on Cartoon Network, so I consider it a CN show.
Eh, I still like early AO. It was just simple, random Internet humor, albeit repetitive.
But yeah, things definitely changed mid 2010's. It feels like the show as a whole got annoying instead of just limiting it to the title character.

the annoying orange is basically the one show you watched as a kid, had fun with, one day just stop watching, and then you go back to it to find that it's not as good as you remember it to be. i think it's due to the innocence of childhood that made us all come back to AO until one day we just.. eventually stop.
it really is sad seeing daneboe continue the show going when it really should've been left as a memory in the past. i used to love his gagfilms. but then one popular gagfilm later and now he's stuck with it.
I know it's a shame he really should go back to his gag films channel and just leave the orange behind all together...
i do think there were at least a few genuinely funny jokes for a while in some of the non-early episodes. i recall an episode with juice boxes, and orange asks when they will start dancing because the label says "shake well". its not the best humor ever but i still like that one joke.
When I was a kid, before Annoying Orange, I was into plush videos like Cute Mario Bros (Formerly, MarioMario8989) and SuperMarioLogan. (Mama Luigi era.)
But when I was around 8 years old, the plushtubers were starting to get older, by hitting puberty and becoming mature, but since at the time I was still a kid, so it make sense where I started to lose interest in them and move on. I still do that when I outgrow RUclipsrs I used to love. Especially I outgrow the Let's Play genre because I've gotten older and found them boring by watching someone playing a game.
Anyways, around late 2009 to early 2010, I begin to watch Annoying Orange, at least it was something new to me. Throughout my childhood, I would watch his videos because I was obsessed with them. Hell, I even watch the Cartoon Network series.
But, by the age of 12, I begin to watch Minecraft videos, more specifically, Element Animation, (I still watch the channel to this day because I'm a fan of a channel.) and I begin to lose interest in Annoying Orange,
By Autumn, I pretty much outgrow Annoying Orange thanks to Uncle Grandpa and, get ready for it, Wander Over Yonder.
One time, as a adult nowadays, I tried to rewatch Annoying Orange, and I feel cringe by watching the videos. Those weren't funny than what I remember as a kid.
And I can see that the views of recent videos weren't the same as the older ones. I believe the reason why the recent videos have lower views was because it didn't have the same charm as the older videos were during the early 2010s.
And about Danboe, he was such a nice guy, all he wanted is to have fun, but by now, the man who's nearly into his elder years, (He's still in his 40s.) I feel sorry for this man.
In contrast, when I rewatch Wander after 5 years, those weren't cringe at all, the animation kept entertained me throughout two seasons, so it's pretty worth it.
About my current being, I tried to binge watch cartoons from time to time this year, but I kept failing at them. Squid Game is probably my recent one to binged from start to finish.
I recently subscribe to Paramount+, but unfortunately, I always get distracted by them. Not sure if I continue to subscribe if I continue to get distracted by.
So yeah, back to Annoying Orange, I pretty much preferred to Wander Over Yonder, or Rocko's Modern Life, or any egg animations you could find.
To be honest, the egg animations are more worth it than watching an Orange makes puns, because the egg animations are more entertaining to watch and it's definitely worth it my time.
Or simply, you could find better cartoons out there that interest you instead of Annoying Orange. Thanks.
I think Annoying Orange's latest voice fits him very well.

I've started watching the Annoying Orange ever since I was 8. To this day, I still watch the Annoying Orange because his puns are hilarious.
I have a vivid memory of my first day of kindergarten were I watched Orange on the classroom computer. 2010-2011.
I was a fan of Annoying Orange from 2009-2013, then when the Cartoon Network show ended I slowly stopped watching.
I got into Annoying Orange on RUclips when it was way past relevancy around 4 or so years ago, and then I watched the tv show on Hulu soon after that. I watched it with my brother and we really enjoyed it just because of the sheer stupidity of it. Looking back on it now, I still kinda like it for the same reason. I don’t watch it anymore but I still kinda think its dumb fun.
I like seeing these retrospectives on stuff I didn't experienced.

Annoying Orange was one of those RUclipsrs that should have just ended a long time ago, I used to watch plenty of the videos from this channel growing up, I don't exactly remember when I stopped watching, but it must have been sometime in 2012 or 2013, nowadays when I look back to all the channels that I watched back then. First time I saw Annoying Orange, I thought it was by Steve Oedekerk, who made Thumbtanic & Thumb Wars & Bat Thumb.

I remember being introduced to the Annoying Orange back around early 2012 because either my brother or sister was playing the first episode on one of their iPods. I never actually got a chance to watch it up until sometime later when one of my friends at school talking about it on the last day before summer vacation. I don’t really watch him that much like I used to, but I still think he’s pretty funny.
My siblings also showed me Annoying Orange in their phone.
I still can't believe that Annoying Orange got a TV Show.

Damn I used to watch Annoying Orange a lot when I was in elementary school and my mom was pissed about me watching Annoying orange on my Tubed television so she cuts the internet about it. Good memories
i've always thought early annoying orange was for edgy teens, since the deaths are super brutal (grapefruit's death is an example of this)
Yeah it was but then after the whole thing with youtube and coppa happened then he had to dumb it down EVEN MORE for little toodlers who watch youtube kids and what not

I think I dropped off from the Annoying Orange when they started doing the trailer reactions. I actually still have some toys of them I asked for Christmas one year, the Marshmallow is the only one that still works, but I think of them as a little time capsule of my younger years.
I remember the summer the AO show came out on Cartoon Network..all they played was that and a how to train your dragon show…me and my friends would just sit and watch it bored asf hoping Adventure time or literally anything else came on lol

I never thought you'd EVER talk about Annoying Orange at all. I find it to be something that you would NEVER EVER TALK ABOUT, similar to The Wacky World of Tex Avery(GokaiOrange did a video on that), Danger Rangers(GokaiOrange did a video on that too, except Danger Rangers is actually a hidden gem), & Ballblazer(The hidden gem of a game series that absolutely nobody ever wants to talk about). Seeing you talk about ANNOYING ORANGE of all things just makes me think that you're breaking the promise to never talk about it.
Then again, this is what most people wanted instead of the more interesting idea of "The Dark Age of Looney Tunes".

I love annoying orange. I grew up with it and I still watch new ones on occasion. It's pretty funny and it's lowbrow. I love it. I am also a sucker for horrible

I used to watch the Annoying Orange when I was starting to get into RUclips and I even remember watching the TV series when it first premiered on Cartoon Network, but nowadays I really don’t watch Annoying Orange and haven’t in a couple of years, but it’s kinda sad what happened to Daneboe he got big with the Orange and now he is stuck making more Orange videos for the foreseeable future. But also if I have to be honest… I’ll take Fred over Annoying Orange any day I SAID IT!!

Most people born 1997 - 2007 watched the original annoying orange
The annoying orange has literally become the thing it was trying to stand out from since at the time no one had ever really seen anything like it before but now after a decade it has molded into the very same garbage that it was trying to differentiate itself from. And you cant help but feel bad for daneboe since the annoying orange is really all he has left in order for him to make even an ounce of money and thats gotta suck while his gagfilms channel just lays there collecting dust and isnt profitable anymore. The annoying orange really isn't needed anymore and has outstayed its welcome but it continues to exist for the sake of keeping daneboe financially stable. He must feel miserable considering how he needs to keep continuing to make this youtube kids crap for the sake of his well being...

And it's the same with a lot of shows these days, they begin by standing out from other shows, but later on they unfortunately go backwards and start standing IN with other shows. Unbelievable!
@@worthybutter2004 SpongeBob being the most infamous example of this as it started out as a show with witty and clever humor based dialogue but then it started to turn into a watered down version of the loony tunes in the later seasons with a bunch of goofy facial expressions and a bunch of wacky random stuff happening every minute through out each episode

In all fairness, I used to be a fan of "The Annoying Orange" myself back around from late 2010 to 2012 (I was in my late teen years at the time) who used to watch new episodes of the series pretty much every single week, until their "Gangnam Style" parody which was were I stopped watching the show altogether. (Apart from the odd video here and there, mostly for curiosity sake.)
Good breakdown all the same though.
I am sure that it was around 2014 when the Annoying Orange went downhill. They stopped using original footage and instead use stock images. And if you think that’s lame, it’s only gotten worse. Annoying Orange has changed his voice to make it high-pitched and they stopped using puns and overrelies too much on nostalgia and catering to 4-year-olds. It’s disgusting, and not even a 2-year-old likes watching the new AO.

Annoying is not funny, and admitting your character is annoying doesn't make them less annoying or funny. It just makes them annoying, which is not funny. Is the great circle of not funny.

Also, I always thought that the annoying orange was a rip-off of Tetes a Claques, a French Canadian animated series that started as a web series that became so popular that it got dvds, merchandises and it even got an animated television series called Au pays des Tetes a claques or as it called in English

I’m not trying to brag, but I never got into the Orange. I was probably a little too old for it when it came out. Personally, I always preferred the storm cloud video he made.

To be completely honest, I've never liked the Annoying Orange, even as a kid, he failed to appeal to me. His old episodes suck, his new episodes suck, even that Cartoon Network show sucks!
I've got nothing against those who DO like him. That's fine. But me personally, he was the creepiest-looking thing ever! I could tolerate Smosh and DanTDM, but I just couldn't stand Annoying Orange.
I did kinda like DanBoe's other series called "My Roommate Mario", though.
I feel sorry for danboe since he needs to keep making it in order for him to make money..

There's a reason some series end other wise they go stale. Annoying Orange, in my opinion, wasn't good from day 1, but, Geez Louise, now it's just gotten worse and WORSE!!

I dont think anyone would want to emulate it. Its unique but it is ugly to look at and tbh kids would perfer more colorful bullshit.
I used to watch the videos. Now the only videos of the web show I think is tolarable is the first few videos of the web show. The new videos are garbage!
