The internet coming together to help raise money for Stefan Karl and bringing the show back into relevancy will always be my favorite internet events ever, and while it sadly didn't have the happy ending we all strived for it was still bittersweet. Lazy Town is remembered fondly as one of the best children's shows out there, and you know what? I think Stefan would have been proud of us either way.
but sadly the actor that played robby rotten sadly passed away so the show won't feel the same with out him even if they bring back the show with a diffrent actor to play robby rotten.
Lazytown is one of the most artistic children shows I've ever seen. It treats the show's audience with respect, strays away from being generic, and was very entertaining. I'm glad Nick Jr picked this up to air on television before all hell broke loose when they greenlit corporate garbage only there to sell toys and pander towards the modern generation. Lazytown's legacy shall live on, and will never ever be forgotten. Always an ethereal masterpiece, always will.
@@pennysanchez7656 Robbie was still great, the guest characters like the Chef, the three other Rottens and the Genie were great and the music was on point still.

I love the irony that Robbie rotten was always the more active player, despite wanting himself and everyone to be lazy Also, while I recall liking it, I don’t think I recall liking the song they’d do before the end of the episode. I dunno why
This show was one of the staples of my childhood. Just yesterday, I went back and rewatched some of the episodes I vaguely remember watching as a kid. Robbie Rotten really was the standout character, I can really see a lot of Jim Carrey in his performance and it's so heartbreaking that the actor is no longer with us. The songs to this day are still an absolute bop, especially the theme for whenever Sportacus flipped around because of that bassline. "No Ones Lazy In LazyTown" has to be my favourite. It's aged like a fine wine.
Me too. Once in the while, particularly when I'm feeling nostalgic, I'll watch the show to get a taste of my childhood. Hell, I remember when I was young and dressed up as Sportacus for Halloween.

Ramble incoming: I agree with this, 100%. The entire 30 minutes I just spent here were worth it (I even learned some things from this video). I don’t think I’ve ever been so obsessed with a show. I watched all the episodes (besides the extras) in 2018 after it was a meme, and enjoyed every second of it. I would’ve LOVED to be a young child and watch this show whenever I could. For some reason recently tho, 4 years later, this show just resurged in me. Mainly because the songs are just so catchy and stick in my head endlessly. I’ve even gone to the extent of charting them in rhythm games that I play, because I think “yes, I would love to play this every single time I log on to this game” (a process I’m currently in, and it’s going amazing) This has gotta be my all time favorite show. Your hot take at the end there is agreeable. Having to recast a new Sportacus, Stephanie _and_ Robbie is a ridiculously huge gamble, and being able to pull off this kind of quality again is probably once in a lifetime. They’re just irreplaceable. We saw that recasting Stephanie worked out, but doing even more recasting is incredibly risky. “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened”
Yep I agree. We need more shows like LazyTown to exist, but please(looking at you Hollywood networks), DON'T REBOOT THIS SHOW! It had its run, trying to remake it(especially with the issues stated in this video) will only make us(and probably kids)upset. Not to mention that, let's face it, you can't remake the past. Its over and had a good run, let it stay that way. Instead, I suggest you take a few notes from the show. Try to imitate what it did. Especially now, in a day where kids aren't watching educational shows and instead watching....anything on television, we need creative shows like LazyTown.
I do agree that as a show it should stay as is. But I do wonder how it could work in a book format. It wouldn’t have as many pit falls as a revised show would.

This brought back so many memories of my childhood. This was and will always be one of my favorite shows. You mentioned the Stingy/Mayor banter scenes reminds me of a couple compiled "Savage Stingy" videos floating around RUclips. I'm with you in the fact that they shouldn't and hopefully never will revive it because in my mind doing so would bring nothing but disgrace to an already amazing and definitely rewatchable show. I still find myself going back in from time to time and seeing the episodes, remembering the plot and singing the songs again and that nostalgic memory is good enough for me.
Really good review. I enjoyed this show as a kid as well its amazing how much it just stood out from the rest! That's mainly down to Robbie rotten being awesome but every character has their highlights. I do however think this show should never come back. The problem with doing so is that alot of the characters would need to be recasted as you said in the video. I don't see anyone else that could possibly replace sportacus or Robbie rotten. Doing so would kill the show and it would have to do alot to live up to the original 4 seasons. Too many classic shows have been brought back recently and ruined because they fail to be entertaining like they once were and the producers only doing it for the profit because the original creator was gone. I'd say leave lazy town as it is! It's had a brilliant run and does not deserve to be ruined by someone else.
I've seen the show as a kid, I've seen the memes, I've seen "The Mine Song Exposed", and I've seen covers of songs. Robbie is very much a 'not really evil at all bad guy' or bad guy who has a secret soft side, like Megamind or Ralph from Wreck It Ralph. He's basically like a live action version of Walugi.
Story time: For many years, I was never good about brushing my teeth. As a kid, I would mostly just make halfhearted attempts to brush my teeth at night to appease my parents, and even as I started college, I would sometimes just forget to brush my teeth at all. I dreaded visits to the dentist, because my teeth were so bad that even simple cleanings left me with a sore mouth. Then I rewatched the episode "Happy Brush Day", and learned the Twenty Times Time song. And suddenly, brushing my teeth wasn't just a mindless task I had to spend two minutes on every day, it was a proper ritual, with measurable steps in a defined order, something my brain could latch onto and incorporate into my daily routine. That, combined with learning how to use floss picks instead of my fat fingers, made a massive difference in my dental hygiene. I've been brushing regularly with no issue ever since, and my dentist has noticed the change. Goes to show just how well-written this show is, that it was still able to teach me lessons as an adult... either that, or it shows how much of a man-child I am.
I agree it shouldn't be revived but at least we have media site that still might play the original series it wouldn't be the same as it used to, sorry I am Crying from memories of the show (T-T)
LazyTown was not without its problems. The nutrition message leaves a lot to be desired. It's like the producers were rabbits. The message about eating fruit and vegetables as often as you can is a good one, as is the lesson that cake, candy and other sugary foods are not very good to eat all the time, but it seems as though fruits and vegetables are the only foods the characters are eating. If this show had also taught children to eat meat, bread, milk, rice, fish, noodles, cheese, cereal, and other foods apart from just fruit and vegetables, then I'd let the nutrition message slide. .
Wow, I pretty much agree with you on everything. I loved Lazy Town as a kid and I still love it as an adult. I'm glad I grew up watching children's shows that are also enjoyable for adults. Robbie Rotten has always been and will always be my favorite character in Lazy Town. In fact, Robbie Rotten is my favorite non-Disney villain. I still miss Stefán Karl Stefánsson. "We Are Number One" and "You Are A Pirate" are favorite Lazy Town songs. In my opinion, "We Are Number One" is an immortal meme. Ziggy and Bessie Busybody are my least favorite characters but I don't hate them. Stingy is definitely funniest character along with Robbie Rotten, off course. I especially agree with you on "Lazy Town coming back" is a bad idea.
Nostalgia be hitting too hard right now. I remember watching this show as a kid. Even had a Sportacus costume, which I unfortunately don’t have any more, especially since I lost a lot of the accessories. Will definitely say that I relate more to Robbie Rotten now than Sportacus or any of the other characters.
Fun Fact: Despite originally airing on Nick Jr in the US, the curret rights holders for Lazytown belong to Warner Bros with rerun of the show even airing on Cartoon Network in recent times. (And yes, this also means Robbie Rotten has a chance to be in Multiversus in the possible future.)
Soooooo, who's here after they heard the news? For those who don't know, Magnus has bought the property rights back for LazyTown from Warner Bros, and according to the quote he added, it sounds like he MAYYY be bringing this back.

The only one who could play Robbie would be Jim Carrey but he's also retiring from acting But no that role belongs to Stefán and always will. Jim has the same chaotic energy but ut wouldn't feel the same
I agree. A reboot of the show is not wise. HOWEVER! however, if a reboot is that highly demanded I think I know a medium that might be able to pull it off. The written medium. Think about it, with books or comics you don't have to think about actors.make the characters as old or young as need be, and writers can use the show for reference material to get accurate character depictions
I remember seeing this on tv a few times in high school when I flipped a channel on the tv, and I couldn't turn it off because it was mesmerizing. I joked with a few friends about how surprised everyone seems when it turned out that Robbie Rotten was behind the scheme. His last name is "Rotten" and he is behind it every time! But that is part of the fun of it. You can definitely tell that everyone loves being a part of the show.
robbie rotten was the best thing about the show because he was the only character that has a personality every other of the characters were just nice all the time
Lazy town shaped my view of health and wellness. It's because of lazy town I work out all the time and try to stay away from junk and feel great. I love this show so much. Thank you lazy town!
i watched season one and two after this video and the songs are actually catchy and well produced.. i know this show was really expensive to create lol, 10/10 just as good as i remembered
You know one night I got high and I had a tube with a lid that I had gotten glow sticks in. I wrote some stupid stuff down on a piece of paper put it in the tube. Then went into the parking lot of my apartment complex at like 2 am. I threw it in the air and said, "GIVE ME MY ICELANDIC PRICES, CHARMING!!!"... yeah he never came
This was a great review! Lazytown is one of the best shows ever! Although I do disagree with you that Stephanie can be recast. While Chloe did good, Julianna WAS Stephanie. It just wasn't the same without her. Also a hot take I have is that I believe Stephanie in seasons 3 and 4 was a bit too overpowered. She could save people and do a ton of flips just like Sportacus. Having Stephanie be able to be like Sportacus kind of defeats the purpose of having him. Stephanie also doesn't have many weaknesses unlike Sportacus (sugar apples and his naivety). I felt the first two seasons balanced Stephanie better since she wasn't able to beat Robbie by herself (see Episode 1) and she got tired from being a superhero in Lazytown's New Superhero.
Completely agree I did find it weird that Stephanie got recased just because julianna played the role perfectly but chloe did her best even if it didn't feel the same
As much as I love Chloe, I agree Stephanie in the later seasons is WAY too overpowered. She’s suddenly a superhero and has a mask that she carries in her new purse (WHICH ALSO HAS A SCREEN IN THE BACK FOR SOME REASON) which she wears almost 24/7 (it’s okay to take it off once in a while, Steph). Also don’t get me started on her “breakdown” moments during the middle of the season 3 songs (she even ruined Stingy’s Round And Round song to do another breakdown where she tells the audience to do dance moves (she never did that in the first 2 seasons and I’m not counting Lazytown Extra).
LazyTown Was VERY Huge here in the UK on the BBC (the Corporation that showed it here in the UK) that a Spin-off was Commissioned called “LazyTown Extra” (ruclips.net/video/u_Lshh4GGmA/видео.html)! I was a Massive fan of LT since it was first shown on British TV that when the spin-off was commissioned, I immediately got excited for it! They advertised LazyTown being on Monday-Friday at 4:30pm rather than just on Friday at 4:30pm! That was 5 Days worth of Sportacus, Stephanie and Robbie Rotten! I remember when I was coming back from Cuba in 2009, the IFE system actually had episodes of LazyTown as well as some of my other favourite CBeebies/Nick Jr programmes at the time like “Tweenies”, “Bob The Builder”, “Rubbadubbers” and “Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends”
If you want to recast Robbie, you need someone who's ready to go completely insane with every move. It's why it's borderline impossible to replace Jim Carry, there's too much energy and motion for most people to be willing to give.
I dont know if these can be counted as kids shows but the owl house, amphibia, and gravity falls were all really mature and just felt like normal shows. And while ducktales and phenias and ferb were both kids shows, most of the comedy is oriented at adults, and ducktales has a great story.
I think there's a solution to fix the recasting of sportacus. If I remember correctly there's actually multiple sportacus's and ours is just number 10, there was a previous sportacus called number 9. So perhaps that could act as a way to have a brand new sportacus and it make sense
A Awesome and great Idea Would be To Make a Blu Ray Dvd Complete Collection of the whole LAzy Town Series. FoR All Of Us who wish to own it in our collection to watch for generations to come ! :)
I know this is an old video but you saying that a lot of kids does don't slow down. I agree but there was one slow I loved as a kid that did slow down and taught me to tidy throughout the day. I'm not sure if you have heard of it, it's called comfy couch I think it was on PBS or something. I just wanted to tell you about it if you haven't heard about it before
I can't belive that there people out there who talk badly about this show 😢 There's way more worse kids television out there and the puppets weren't scary at all I was afraid of puppets as a kid, so I can tell. This show had nothing scary at all.
I agree, they should not bring Lazy Town back. It just wouldn't be the same without Magnus and Stefan. Lazy Town is a good show. Even though it was aimed at kids, I think it's a show that anybody can enjoy.... Kind of like Friendship Is Magic.
I'll be honest - as a kid, I was too stubborn to like this show. And i was at the target demographic for it. For some reason, kid me thought Lazy Town was pandering. Not to kids, but to parents. As a kid I saw the exercise promotion and calling fruits and veggies "sports candies" as really stupid (to be fair, i still think the sports candy thing is stupid). I was like "a show that wants me to exercise and eat healthy?! But I don't WANT to exercise and eat healthy! These people don't know what kids want at all!" So, while i can appreciate the show, i just don't have the same attachment to it that everyone else does.

Yeah, all shows come to a end, including LazyTown.
Thank you so much for this video!! It made me so so happy!
It on Cartoon Network now?
Robbie Rotten would be an epic Multiverses character but it just wouldn’t be the same without Stephan
@@mrcritical6751 true...
Soooooo, who's here after they heard the news? For those who don't know, Magnus has bought the property rights back for LazyTown from Warner Bros, and according to the quote he added, it sounds like he MAYYY be bringing this back.
WAIT WHAT? IS THIS A JOKE?

15:50 damm i dont remember Stingy being that brutal! also i like the refence to the episode where sportacus turn invisible
I love and miss robbie rotten alot I wish I could meet Robbie rotten but it's too late
Used to love LazyTown
Wow that video was great! You had a thesis and a roadmap and executed it beautifully. I was rewatching only episodes and noticed these things. Keep on making!
I loved this show, someone should try and interview Julianna Rose Mauriello (Stephanie)
I never did grew-up with this show alot, but I have started to be more aware of it thanks to RUclips
The only one who could play Robbie would be Jim Carrey but he's also retiring from acting
But no that role belongs to Stefán and always will. Jim has the same chaotic energy but ut wouldn't feel the same
My dads says I should not watch stuff like this
BUT YOUR RIGHT ITS SUCH A MASTERPIECE I JUST MIGHT FIND A FULL EPISODE
Is this show ANY WORSE THAN CAILLOU?? Seriously. That's what you say to your dad when he says that.
No lie, I would read a LazyTown comic in public. And I'm nearly entering college.
@@meggytari9888 same buddy.same
There's also Animation.
@@maxrules6185 humm…we’d still judge the voices for not being right. I think books are the safer route.
@@redrasegarden true. But you do understand what I mean right?
2:01 Oh, you're too young to remember when "You Are a Pirate" was THE Lazytown meme.
Very good video bro! You're underrated!
I loved Watching Lazy Town but I miss watching.
🎬🎵🎼🎶🎤👧🏻🧑🏻🥷🏻🦸🏻♂️
robbie rotten was the best thing about the show because he was the only character that has a personality every other of the characters were just nice all the time
Lazy town shaped my view of health and wellness. It's because of lazy town I work out all the time and try to stay away from junk and feel great. I love this show so much. Thank you lazy town!
this is the video that introduced me to Media Mementos
This show was fire, Spartacus for nickelodeon all star brawl!
i watched season one and two after this video and the songs are actually catchy and well produced.. i know this show was really expensive to create lol, 10/10 just as good as i remembered
This and the backyardigans was my two favorite little child cartoons all time oh and blues clues
Completely agree I did find it weird that Stephanie got recased just because julianna played the role perfectly but chloe did her best even if it didn't feel the same
@@bend7726 Totally agree! I definitely respect Chloe for putting 100% into a role that had big shoes to fill.
3:57 that cake that robbie is eating looks delicious
*YeSs✨*
Underrated video alert! BOOST!!
If you want to recast Robbie, you need someone who's ready to go completely insane with every move. It's why it's borderline impossible to replace Jim Carry, there's too much energy and motion for most people to be willing to give.
I'd love it to come back. But, having to recast Stephaine AGAIN..... Not having Magnus.... given it he WAS Sportacus
I enjoyed LazyTown. Even as an adult. lol
Don’t let your kids watch it. It’s the best thing about LazyTown. It gets me every time.
My dad literally said he saw the grinch in Robbie rotten
Robbie: Shh, Don't Let your kids watch it!
Robbie rotten always reminded me of the black licorice man from candyland
9:10 So he's basically the same as any other politician.
9:12 Nevermind.
I saw this a couple times when I was little and was mildly interested but it was never on.
I know this is an old video but you saying that a lot of kids does don't slow down. I agree but there was one slow I loved as a kid that did slow down and taught me to tidy throughout the day. I'm not sure if you have heard of it, it's called comfy couch I think it was on PBS or something. I just wanted to tell you about it if you haven't heard about it before
I can't belive that there people out there who talk badly about this show 😢
There's way more worse kids television out there and the puppets weren't scary at all
I was afraid of puppets as a kid, so I can tell.
This show had nothing scary at all.
Reviving Lazy Town : New Cast , same town , another time : Lazy Original or Original Lazy Story from Sportacus book 200 years ago
0:57 but they still have morals. And if kids are learning or having a good time with it then that’s all it matters
its to bad it's hard or not possible to get the whole series in dvd :(
Hands down, I prefer the original Stephanie.
Their was actually supposed to be another character named jives
His only trait was that he was lanky
The classic seasons of Thomas and Friends STRONGLY disagree
The beginning of your video makes me wonder what you think about Dragon Tales
We are number one is a big meme lol
Classic Thomas the tank engine. Seasons 1-7 were probably the best overall.
Lazy town = peak childhood
Thank you for unmarking it for kids.
Didn’t know it happened. RUclips keeps doing this automatically without warning.
I loved this show and also if people didn’t have kids they wouldn’t have to suffer
I agree, they should not bring Lazy Town back. It just wouldn't be the same without Magnus and Stefan.
Lazy Town is a good show. Even though it was aimed at kids, I think it's a show that anybody can enjoy.... Kind of like Friendship Is Magic.
Magnus is still alive, but yes agreed.
It wouldn't be the same with Julianna (og Stephanie) I think I stopped watching when Chloe showed up as a kid.

earthbound fans are having horrible memories here 19:09
21:41 like... Channel Awesome?
I'll be honest - as a kid, I was too stubborn to like this show. And i was at the target demographic for it. For some reason, kid me thought Lazy Town was pandering. Not to kids, but to parents. As a kid I saw the exercise promotion and calling fruits and veggies "sports candies" as really stupid (to be fair, i still think the sports candy thing is stupid). I was like "a show that wants me to exercise and eat healthy?! But I don't WANT to exercise and eat healthy! These people don't know what kids want at all!"
So, while i can appreciate the show, i just don't have the same attachment to it that everyone else does.
I’m the 69th like. Nice video! It must have taken so long to create.

Mandalorian just came out on Disney+ since VTA is over. Frozen has so much to uncover, the history, the culture, and the story, even a mystery everyone has been waiting to be solved. I suggest checking it out, it might spark some new interest in you, if not at least you gave it a chance. Here are the links down below.
