These guys are amazing. I still can't believe they never made it big time. I've seen them play over 30 times and they always blow me away! Incredible musicians all three and still my rock and roll heroes. Thanks for the interview with Dug!
OMG. I'm a little shithead drummer from Alabama. Back then, just a rocker. They came to Birmingham Alabama opening for AC/DC. My aunt named Jessica, worked for Megaforce Records and actually helped manage Kings X. I'm 55 now but I was maybe 20 then. Of course, my aunt sent back stage passes to meet Kings X. I was into them then because of her so was stoked to meet them. If anyone questions the kind of musicians they are, here it is: 3 of the nicest, most genuine people, I have ever met. They signed my CD, " Faith ,Hope, Love" and we talked for a while. I'll never forget asking the about the song Moanjam and other stuff. Really, really lucky I got to meet them. I became a fan for life. I've met several bands like Savatage and Megadeath but they were the coolest. Thanks for that night guys. You Rocked it in front of a huge crowd.

Agreed. They have many impressive albums & dozens of killer tracks.
I see it the opposite. They are widely known as one of the best bands of all time = highly rated! They just haven't sold in the multiple millions, which has probably helped them stay hungry and humble.
I love how Dug,a class act, remembers Jon and Marsha Z,they created a whole scene giving a chance to many great bands we love,Metallica,Anthrax and King's X among others,may they rest in peace.
Megaforce is my favorite label ever. Metallica, Anthrax, King’s X, Overkill, Testament to name just a few who were part of the label at one time or another.
These three guys were born to play together. And yes, they were born to be loved!

The most unique, underrated band from virtually any era, imo! Intelligent music for intelligent fans of music. So much is happening within every song. The reason so many people can't grasp their music is because people generally listen passively to music. Without understanding or appreciating intrinsically what is happening. Like Rush, before them, one has to have a firm grasp of meter, groove, tone, lyrics, and harmony to appreciate Kings X. Go to one of their shows.... everyone there knows all the lyrics. Their fans know the brilliance happening before them. Like Govt Mule, you can't categorize them. They transcend genras! I can listen to any album of theirs and be blown away, time and time again!

First time i saw them live was 1989 in Santa Monica opening for Winger and Mr Big. Beach, Gilbert, and Tabor all on the same night. Guitar Heaven.

My favorite King's X song is Cigarettes! The live version from the album Live All Over The Place is amazing! Ty Tabor plays like a 3 minute solo!
I saw Kik Tracee open for them at Austin's BackRoom Club in spring '89

Seen King's X over a half dozen times. Incredible group.
Saw them at a tiny club in Memphis 2004. Ridiculously embarrassing small crowd around 100 people. They sounded amazing and have always deserved better
