- Опубликовано: 12 фев 2011
- Taken from the out-of-print VHS. Great rare footage of not only three of the best Rock-n-Roll musicians America has to offer...but three of the nicest, most humble, down to earth guys you could ever meet.
Go NOW (after enjoying vid) to their website: www.kingsxrocks.com and purchase something. Or go to their individual websites and do the same. If ever there were a band that DESERVERED your support, it is KING'S X! Видеоклипы
Why these guys weren't and aren't huge is a testament to the state of the industry and the state of the sheep who consume modern music.
Because the band could never labeled or pigeon holed. That scares a lot of people in the US. American like their McDonalds/Denny's type music. Safe and predictable like AC/DC. Poor Thin Lizzy had the same issue in the US
Man, I wish someone would make a high budget documentary about them. They deserve it.
hell yeah, needs to be made, they so deserve it.
I agree...my favorite band of all time
@@scottlareva9820 I left that comment 4 years ago, and the amazing thing is that in that span of time - my wish came true. Just recently King's X have reported that they are in the process of making a real in-depth documentary about their lives as a band!
pwoods100 Wow. That's great news. Presumably in keeping with their 40th anniversary!!
@@pwoods100 : HOPING they'll include ALL the promos then.....
Definitely one of the best underrated bands of all time. Like the Thin Lizzy of the modern era.
I like this comment
Not underrated they’re unknown
The Evolution of King's X- very cool!
Kings X is the most under-rated band , with the possible exception of Rez-band, I have ever heard! IDK if Doug lived in Pittsburgh for most of his life, or just during the few he played here alot. His bass playing has that tough 'funk' sound, and 'The X' has a unique sound, with Ty Tabor doing lead & rythem , & all the styles they play combined, it is simply a Rock n Roll Smorgasbord that one has to experience 'live' to truly appreciate. Ty is easily top ten (all time) GUITAR PHENOMS!
I saw them play in a club in Corpus Christi TX around 90 or 91 (The Faith Hope Love tour) To this day it was best club gig I ever saw from any band.
King's X definitely have their own sound. But so underrated.
One of the very very best bands on the silent planet!👏🏼👏🏼♥️♥️
kings x is so underated . sad sad sad . but hey the good ones know kings x . 😊
Statement of the century. Dogman Tour - King's X and Galactic Cowboys 1994 Newport Music Hall Columbus, OH it was absolutely incredible.
Awesome band
They’re not underrated they’re unknown
great video humble and very talented men of rock. they bring alot of joy to many people.
they should be in the Hall of Fame ,,,,,,,, they opened doors of inspiration for many ,,,,,
Nobody sounds like Kings X! Totally unique!
So live Kings X. Great interviews. Cool guys too.
My favorite band of all time.
I played at Ty's Uncles coffee shop a couple of times when I lived in Pearl,Ms.
SO SHWEEEETTT...much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
KINGS X rocks....!! I had the pleasure of meeting doug at a NAMM show.....great and cool brother..! KINGS X makes the world a better place..!
Wish I could get ahold of Douglas! I knew him before King's X, in the 70's at Jesus People in Dwight and Kankakee IL. We hung out with CRAZY Lloyd!
since 1987 King's X has been my favorite band of all time!!!
I have been really lucky to have met all of them...I can't wait to see the rest of these videos because I have never seen these before and they are awesome!!
I loved Kings X!.... one of the most underrated bands of the era
Unknown
They're still around and still just as good.
Still chugging. New album. New tour. Saw them last year and I'm going again Aug 4th.
@@seanmccauley9443 all original members?
@@gilmourwaters yes 😀
I saw them in Dallas one night when they were still loading their own gear. I had no idea who they were or what I was about to hear....it was amazing.
This is awesome. Thanks for posting!
Been a fan for years. So cool to see this... Thanks!
THANKS FOR POSTING!
King's X are just so fucking good! I was in Austin,TX by chance around 2002-2003 and they were playing a club. I was fortunate to get in and it was SRO. They were not a let down and sounded so good live I went to replenish my collection. Paul Schaffer and the CBS orchestra always played "Complain" and I miss THEM just because of that too!
I saw them play in a club down here in Corpus Christi in 91 or 92. To this day it was the best show I have seen from a band playing in a club, a night I'll never forget. They sounded just like their album.
Great to hear early versions of "Johnny" , "Screamer" & "Black Like Sunday".
I've never heard that Sneak Preview album.
Great band. Seen them live a couple times. Nice guys. Very mellow dudes.
Wow very kwl thanks for sharing!
out of the silent planet and grectchen goes to nebraska lp's are both pure groove rock masterpieces !!!
Underrated don't think so they are going to be very important real soon.
Are you referring to a feature film or something in the works?
saw them last night-- BLEW MY AS@ AWAY- mad love
Richard Craig bucketlist band to see live for sure!
this is great.
king x never sold out!
That's right, they stayed true to their craft, even though they never hit the bigtime, they kept a loyal following.
Dug is so stoned!! LOL
Love these guys
66
early stuff is like Thin Lizzy / Zep stuff. Never knew this side of their story. Great band.
Utterly excellent but well underated band
Jerry Gaskil is good on drums, I like Ty Tabor's goggles and Dug Pinnick was roommates with my uncle. Said he used to sing really loud in the shower at like 3am. No shit.
This old footage is killer
I Love Kings X.
"We wanted a heavy melody, we've been trying to do that ever since".
Doug, I'm quite sure you've well acomplished that!
@MrRaddog123 Glad you enjoy...the documentarys is all I have of rare KX stuff, but make sure you check out all of my Poundhound vids too!
I can't get past the bit where Jerry's wife looked up Ty's name in the dictionary XD
I live in Kings X in Sydney, Australia. It's a place. Come and visit some time.
Note to ALL Black,White,Mexican(My peeps)and other's;The Interaction between THESE guys is the way it SHOULD be in a band(or business partnership/work relations etc).Whata cool dude dUg is!He doesn't even know he's black!(seemingly).
The Gods must have intervened to keep this band from reaching the stardom they richly deserved.
Marcillio Ficino . I don't know about that. I'm thinking that God did exactly what he wanted to do. This is my all-time favorite band EVER.
Well it's like this. Kings X is a band with a devoted following. The main reason why they didn't reach mega stardom is the fact that they didn't go commercial and sell out. They are a band who are loved by musicians and people with
an appreciation of their skill.
dUg looks just like jimi Hendrix back in the day!
i feel stoned watching this
Yep. Contact buzz - from the video.
I LOVE dUg.
Ty played at Spring Fling??? Wow I wish I had been there then. Evangel College 1987-1991...
Where didn't Ty play back then?!!!
Great stuff. Just hearing a few seconds of twilight zone edge --->> any of that available anywhere.. I would pay top dollar...well maybe more than just a dollar ..had har
Kings X, Rush, Police, Triumph, Marvelous 3, Nirvana, the BEST 3 piece WRITING bands of all time! I'm missing a bunch of great 3 piece bands. Help me out.
Cream, Grand Funk, Hendrix, Stevie Ray & DT immediately come to mind....
@termsofusepolice You are right...I've been slacking! But I've got it on now, check it out.
The book is really good so far.
Ira Siegel Book? Which book?
Holy crap! What is that song starting at 10:03?
Sounds like an early version of 'Screamer', which was later re-worked for Black Like Sunday.
so basically God put them together. my fav band EVER. I have met them and talked with them personally and so have my children. THE BEST BAND EVER! melodic and heavy... And a lot of wannabes on their tip.
bailchic
Basically...Yes!
Yes I know dUg's gay but he don't make a big deal out of it so neither should you!
(for those who are bothered)
He’s gay? Seriously, I had no idea....
Never would've thought
I heard the other two members are hetro, nobody makes a fuzz about that either

It was a time of overalls and afro's LoL
Ty tabor should be in the dictionary lol
THANKS:
seamus2112ophelan
...Thanks!
Does Jerry eat???
Almost 40 years.. and they still get no respect....🤔
Am I the only one sick and tired of hearing people say these guys 'should've' or 'could've' or 'would've'?? I don't know why but there's this strange, vague, unspecified, unwritten idea of what SUCCESS is. When I was a kid, it was a band appearing on Top Of The Pops or getting high in the charts or selling massive amounts of records. Later in life you notice that there's not only a lot of contrived, generic bullshit that reaches all three of those aspects but also as often as not there's a lot of contrived bullshit going on with money, coercion, business pitching, asslicking, brown-nosing and LIES to make all that happen. It's BOLLOCKS.
As I've said in many places elsewhere....most people drink cheaper wine but no one says what a shame that no one appreciates the vintage wines. By the same token, a vintage wine doesn't automatically get called 'underrated'. It's value is undiminished regardless of its lack of popularity with the man in the street. The connoisseurs all shrug and say 'so what!'
Like a vintage wine King's X are too EXPENSIVE in quality for ordinary ears. It's extraordinary music for listeners who enjoy the extraordinary.
So let's give this band a BREAK from hearing about how they're underrated, undervalued and how they should've been this or that.
Let's look at how LOVED they ACTUALLY are, let's look at what they HAVE achieved, let's what they DO and HAVE and the amazing, uncompromising, impeccable music they've made across multiple decades.
Dave Sanderson I agree!
What year is this?
+Jerr OCarroll Around 1991/2 ish , with the Overkill and Testament Megaforce videos that came out \m/
+Jerr OCarroll Come to think of it, the guys look much older.( i made the last message before i saw this video) and that video I am thinking of was just music videos if I remember. This little docu must be a bonus from an album but not sure either of date.
+Gavin Linkson + Jerr O, hey guys, this is most likely 1996, right after the Ear Candy release. It could possibly be '97, but I don't think so. (I didn't pull out the vhs to check)
+seamus2112ophelan +gavin Linkson
Thanks guys. Never seen the vid before, brilliant to watch it as it showed a side of the band, or even a time of the band I've never seen or heard before, and and how they became what they are now(ish!)
you are welcome jerr, they are a very unique band to this day!
m m m My Sc-rotum!
