On the timeline question, we can at least put it after Mando season 3 since Vane has moved on from Gorian Shard to Silvo and Brutus. I agree that it's most likely after Ahsoka too, and I would love to see Carson make an appearance 🙏
A fun question: After bringing back the Holiday Special circus, what do you think is the next thing they’ll bring in next from there? Fully canonizing Jefferson Starship?
How about SCARIF...? Thats the best example of a planet thats completely shielded. If not obscured. Mandalore was completely shielded from off planet communications. In Bad Batch Mount Tantiss on Wayland was an example of a secret location. IIRC they had to dock at an Imp station to get the jump location.
I love this series so far. It reflects on the era people like us lived in where we were oblivious of stuff around us. They showed it in the first episode as we didn't have cellphones because they didn't exist yet or internet access as it wasn't popular yet? Even showing the main characters in the second episode that their knowledge was limited. They are eventually going to find out the truth about their world and the galaxy they actually live in.
Question: is there anything in Star Wars that is more dystopian than forcing little kids to use the refresher at their desks while taking a life changing exam?
Am I the only person who immediately thought of Doc Brown when they first saw KB? The visor, the yellow colors in her jacket and back pack, her white hair. The second I saw her I immediately thought of him in BTTF2
Alex and Mollie, you should do watch alongs with all the movies that influenced "Skeleton Crew"? Goonies, Flight of the Navigator, ET, Indiana Jones..... could be fun to revisit the touchstones of 1980s youth.
I just realised that Captain Silvo's name is ment to sound like Silver like Long John Silver from treasure island. Makes sense of what we know of the character so far .
I hope Jude Law only has extremely small force abilities - eg. can do card tricks and move small things, but has never been trained properly. I really hope they keep the stakes low and don't have universe changing weapons, massive battles or anything like that. Similar to Andor - it was set in Star Wars but really followed one guy's journey to join the resistance -- and he is not a universe changing hero.
"wizard" goes back to at least the High Republic. It's implied that the Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram who stars in a few of the middle-grade books may have even popularized the term.
I won't lie, if I was in the star wars universe with all its perils and wars, I would also want a planet that no one knows about, seems to be a relatively stable place to live, and seemingly cant be detected.
I normally don't like speculating to hard as it rarely pans out, but I think I have an idea what At Attin is. It is a High Republic research and engineering facility, and their great work is...The KATANA FLEET! They residents of At Attin are the automation programmers. This explains all the droids on the planet. The barrier is hiding the rest of fleet on or around the planet. By the time the season is done my guess is that Thrawn will learn about At Attin and the Katana fleet, and he will steal the Fleet and it will be his Dark Force Rising!
I have not seen this asked anywhere else, but I don’t believe I’m the first person to think of this. Why can I not look at the navi-computer in the ship to find the coordinates where it jumped from into hyper space? That should lead them back to At - Attan, right?
Maybe AT Attin is like the Fort Knox of the Old Republic where all the credits are made or kept. It kinda also explains why all the kids want to be financial analysts or accountants when they grow up 🤔
I wouldn’t be surprised if the barrier is somewhat related to the hyperspace disaster and they try to keep a low profile because the nihil were a threat and the Jedi/Republic couldn’t protect them
Have you started Tempest Breaker yet? Will you do a review? I've got like two chapters left and I'm loving it so far! The cast is incredible especially Marc Thompson as Marchion!
Think about the complication though too. The planet is a treasure planet because it's just rich. The myth around the planet was created to keep people away. Now you have lost kids trying to get back to the same planet that the pirates want to loot when they help them. So it's going to be a race to who gets to the planet first
I feel like this happened to defend them from the Nihil. They use the verbage of great works and Wizard which coined canonically by Reath means this had to have sealed off during the high Republic
I thought the first episode was kinda slow but episode two picked it up well and I like Jude Law as a force user/scoundrel. The mystery behind the kids planet they live on sounds interesting
Kinda funny that you mentioned if there is more Skeleton Crew past this season in this video that it would best to be a time jump as I read shortly before starting it this morning that Jon Watts told Collider that they absolutely have an idea for a season 2 but it would be a time jump like 3 or 4 years because the main kids would be older and just because how long it takes to get productions started and scheduled.
Did you see Disney released a full music video for the “Major Tom (Coming Home)”/“Youngee Wim (Bunky Dunko)” song? It has a lot of new footage and a chance to translate…how’s your Huttese?
They really haven't been messing around with the timeline so the show would take place sometime after especially if it's Carson in one of the X-wing's.
Kind of off topic, but I tried to watch the commentaries for some of the skywalker saga movies on Patreon and ran into issues where I couldn’t access it because of how it’s shared via GoogleDrive. Any chance those could get changed to the format the other commentaries are done through? I’ve wanted to watch those for a while now and never quite figured out how.
At the very earliest, I think Skeleton Crew is happening at the same time as Ahsoka Season 1, but it is likely right after the events of Ahsoka Season 1.
Yes, however he still has to have it feel like Star Wars and in that world... Andor works so well because it deals with realities of how bad the Empire is for and to the common persons in the galaxy.
Are there any ideas found in concept books, that you would've wished made it into the sequel trilogy, such as the Warhammer super weapon for The Force Awakens?
I love our mamma Mando, Katee.... but not everything she's been in is good. If you wanna laugh check out Halloween with her in it with Tyra Banks and Busta. 😅
I really hope the pirates stemmed from the aftermath of the nyhil mostly with the ships having thre stripes on tehir hulls and them mentioning in the opening crawl that they’re plaguing the outer rim and the being on a remote asteroid kind fo reminds me of the nyhil great hall in the high republic books.
Imo if Anikin was too old to be trained, how many were also Too old to be trained. Thus there are a bounty of spice sensitive people in the universe whoissee being a Jedi by 4 months (Jedi Hubris) you were just unlucky, yet no less force sensitive.
Also, I am confused. You and all the other youtubers are jumping to the conclusion that when they say old republic, they mean the old republic but since they’re in teh new republic doesn’t that mean it could also be the galactic republic from the prequels and high republic reading? That would make a little more sense as to why they’re surprised they have mint condition credits of that era since they would have only stopped printing those credits about 30 years ago making why most of the ones left wouldn’t be in the best condition.
live reaction so do your reaction but live but with others people always make those mash up video reaction but you gather every Star Wars RUclipsr or podcaster make a zoom and react together
6:00 This is what Marvel has capitalized on and it has served them well. Continuity and connections between characters and timelines. Star Wars would be wise to take note. I can see they tried during Mando/BoB/Ahsoka, but they just need to keep on keepin on. lol MTFBWY!!
I am of the exact opposite opinion when it comes to cameos and connections to the rest of the universe. Star Wars stories need to stand on their own or its going to get really tired really fast. I mean, it already kind of is in some aspects. Skeleton Crew already has the pirate Vane from Mandalorian. That's enough for me.
Q&A: A couple questions. Do you think we'll get a similar thing to the Acolyte where Wim and Fern, are idealistic/cynical pair in Skeleton Crew, change places ideologically with Wim becoming more jaded but Fern becoming more idealistic during the adventure? Second question: KB seems to have the same kind of implant as Lobot. Could the risk of her sharing his fate be a plot point in the series?
It’s after Ahsoka on the Disney+ Star Wars timeline
8:11 "Sacks of Dead Witches" is a bad-ass punk band name
Cant wait for the rest of the episodes. Great show so far
On the timeline question, we can at least put it after Mando season 3 since Vane has moved on from Gorian Shard to Silvo and Brutus. I agree that it's most likely after Ahsoka too, and I would love to see Carson make an appearance 🙏
it is. its after ahsoka on the disney plus timeline
A fun question: After bringing back the Holiday Special circus, what do you think is the next thing they’ll bring in next from there? Fully canonizing Jefferson Starship?
Yes, make them the governors of some planet or city of rock and roll
They crashed their starship and are now the governors of the town built from that ship... and they speak through lightsaber-microphones!
That might actually "Light the Sky on Fire".
How about SCARIF...? Thats the best example of a planet thats completely shielded. If not obscured.
Mandalore was completely shielded from off planet communications. In Bad Batch Mount Tantiss on Wayland was an example of a secret location. IIRC they had to dock at an Imp station to get the jump location.
a 2nd viewing of each episode with live commentary is pretty interesting.
OMG Just realized people in At Attin doesn't have access to the HoloNet >.< How boring!
Loved you mentioning Battlestar. I’m almost done my first watch!
When neel says he messes his 7 for(or) 9 tables aswell.
Question: is there anything in Star Wars that is more dystopian than forcing little kids to use the refresher at their desks while taking a life changing exam?
10:25 Alex saying, "why do they feel the need to hide," triggered me into the chant, "the power of one... The power of two..."
Am I the only person who immediately thought of Doc Brown when they first saw KB? The visor, the yellow colors in her jacket and back pack, her white hair. The second I saw her I immediately thought of him in BTTF2
i didn't realize i knew that look from somewhere but YES! that's exactly it!
9:12 I'm reminded of the hidden planet of Cricket from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Makes sense of what we know of the character so far .
and the fact the story is following the Treasure Island story framework.
And after Ben Gunn moved the treasure there was only one piece left.
22:35 skip 30 seconds to avoid trailer spoilers
You da real mvp
I hope Jude Law only has extremely small force abilities - eg. can do card tricks and move small things, but has never been trained properly. I really hope they keep the stakes low and don't have universe changing weapons, massive battles or anything like that. Similar to Andor - it was set in Star Wars but really followed one guy's journey to join the resistance -- and he is not a universe changing hero.
Thanks, Mollie! Thanks, Alex! 🤓
My prediction right now is that at least one of the kids will be end up being force sensitive and will get trained by Luke.
If any of them are force sensitive I'm guessing it'll probably be either Whilm or Fern
Poor kid.
Maybe the red lights are some sort of magnetic field generating system that causes the Aurora phenomenon? 8:40
Given how the show seems to imply that At Attin has some relation to the Old Republic, I really wanna know just how old the use of “wizard” is.
"wizard" goes back to at least the High Republic. It's implied that the Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram who stars in a few of the middle-grade books may have even popularized the term.
Wizard is one of those phrases that people keep trying to make happen
@justintaylor1713, stop trying to make "fetch" happen!
I love that school bus driver droid 😂
my barrier thoughts: a force faraday cage.
reliable Star Wars news sources
I won't lie, if I was in the star wars universe with all its perils and wars, I would also want a planet that no one knows about, seems to be a relatively stable place to live, and seemingly cant be detected.
Fort Knox! Kentucky reference!
I normally don't like speculating to hard as it rarely pans out, but I think I have an idea what At Attin is. Did captain Silvo take over the rest of Gorian Shard’s crew? The ships at port borgo have the same markings, plus Vane is also apart of the crew
Have you started Tempest Breaker yet? Will you do a review?
I've got like two chapters left and I'm loving it so far! The cast is incredible especially Marc Thompson as Marchion!
Yes and yes!
Man … I wish treasure planet could be a Star Wars story ❤❤ even if it was a comic novel or something Jim Hawkins needs to be in the galaxy far away 😔🥺
I can't unhear Cthulhu when you mention Tuloo, Neel's little sibling aghaahaha
Order 66 survivor turning pirate wouldn’t be impossible especially if they were a youngling or a padawan
Jude Law is too good of an actor to just leave after a season of TV. He should definitely be in one of the upcoming movies!
At Atin is the resource planet for Palatine's Final Order fleet. You're welcome
In the final episode the kids return home... just in time to be conscripted into The Final Order!
“The great work”
If they are expanded empire rule, then why are they using old republic credits?
@@fraliexb so they don't realize they're the bad guys.
Great video
What if the season of the Skeleton Crew ends with the mandalorian rescuing them
I thought the first episode was kinda slow but episode two picked it up well and I like Jude Law as a force user/scoundrel. The mystery behind the kids planet they live on sounds interesting
Shouldn’t the navicomputer have a record of its last hyperspace jump? ???
Yes it should I don't expect it to be set up to auto erase.
DARTH SANTA?!?!?!? You ended the show mentioning Darth Santa????? Lol, I know what you said, but my brain heard Darth Santa.
You also had the Cloak of the Sith which was a sort of nebula barrier leading to the planet Roon.
You guys are awesome 👏 ♥️ ♥️ love your content
Kinda funny that you mentioned if there is more Skeleton Crew past this season in this video that it would best to be a time jump as I read shortly before starting it this morning that Jon Watts told Collider that they absolutely have an idea for a season 2 but it would be a time jump like 3 or 4 years because the main kids would be older and just because how long it takes to get productions started and scheduled.

Until I hear something official I’m assuming Skeleton Crew overlaps with Ahsoka season 1.
They really haven't been messing around with the timeline so the show would take place sometime after especially if it's Carson in one of the X-wing's.
Disney+ timeline places it after Ahsoka. The New Republic shows are releasing chronologically.
I’ll let Alex know - we might just re-do all the commentaries as videos on the new format also!
Isn't one of the pirates we met in the first 2 episodes a pirate who died in mando
He didn’t die, he escaped
At the very earliest, I think Skeleton Crew is happening at the same time as Ahsoka Season 1, but it is likely right after the events of Ahsoka Season 1.
I can't wait to find out who the original captain of the onyx cinder is. Maybe a character from knights of the Old Republic/ the Old Republic?
Which series do you think Cal will show up in and how? Given that he’s about thirteen years older than Luke he would be about 43 to 45 in 9 ABY.
Do you think we could see a treasure hunting omega link with the crew at some point?
I think Tony Gilroy is the only person involved in star wars that was like ya idc about star wars im just making a cool story
The barrier might be more one way which could explain why the ship crashed in the first place and why going through it is seen as a serious issue
Kids..always check the corners
The ship probably crashed because of the Barrier
I love our mamma Mando, Katee.... but not everything she's been in is good. If you wanna laugh check out Halloween with her in it with Tyra Banks and Busta. 😅
LOL fair 😅
Jude Laws character was pretty well shaven to think he actually has spent anytime in that pirate brig
I want to know what KBs story is. She is a bio bot and what happened to her.
how you make your videos
So, you are taping yourself during 1st viewing but airing it later live.
When Larson created Battle Star in the late 1970’s he was sued by George Lucas for copyright infringement
Imo if Anikin was too old to be trained, how many were also Too old to be trained. Thus there are a bounty of spice sensitive people in the universe whoissee being a Jedi by 4 months (Jedi Hubris) you were just unlucky, yet no less force sensitive.
Pippin! Pippin! Pippin!
What if its all just a truman show senario
That would be interesting.
It's not one of the planet during the Clone Wars
Grysk controlled planet? There are several reasons for this to be possible.
Also, I am confused. You and all the other youtubers are jumping to the conclusion that when they say old republic, they mean the old republic but since they’re in teh new republic doesn’t that mean it could also be the galactic republic from the prequels and high republic reading? Maybe the “treasure” is calm, suburban, peaceful bliss. 🤷

Hopefully it will be absolutley nothing like the acolyte
What if at attins isn't a planet. What if it is something else en because of that nowbody know where it is.
My prediction is that attin is from a other galaxy we’re the grysk are and probably was protected by the people of perioda
hope this docent sound weird but ask your parents question
I wanna hear all the embarrassing stories about Alex and mollie
Wait oh my god 15:20. Molly 100% knew he was using the Force because she'd seen Episode 3 😂
Oh my gosh
