I just want to ask. The X-wing scene. Did the animation look weird to you? Like they did it in miniature, maybe? To save money, maybe? And was the last time they did miniature shots was during the original trilogy? That would be pretty cool if they did miniatures again after so long.
EASTER EGG: SM-33 is a typographic twist on SM-EE, or Mr. Smee, a comical pirate from Peter Pan. You heard it here first, I hope! Thanks for the amazing work, Charlie. I love the whirlwind stye--all meat, no fat. Keep it up!

Sm33 is too funny.. when he walked off after the conversation with jude law character and then he came back and said “eye” then walked off again had me dying laughing.
Such an amazing episode I feel like Jude Law was something that Star Wars was missing from the last few years with the shows and I think it was a such a great idea of him being in this show especially because he’s like the Jedidi of it all and he’s trying to help the kids going back home such an amazing adventure
Thanks, Charlie! ✨💀✨ On the word alone, I figured astrogation was a space-y version of navigation. I then looked it up and was correct. Here are the details from Wookieepedia for anyone interested: Astrogation was the science of safely and reliably traversing space in a starship. Throughout galactic history, cartographers and scouts traveled between star systems in search of more reliable and safer hyperspace routes free of dangerous obstacles, advancing the science of astrogation. Traveling through hyperspace required a navigation computer to make precise calculations in order to follow these lanes and avoid crashing into "mass shadows," the gravitational wells surrounding massive celestial bodies such as planets. Often, ships had to navigate by way of hyperspace buoys or stop at waypoints to calculate another hyperspace vector.
I believe that him denying actually saying that he was a Jedi, was like a reflex to anyone that suspected him, considering how long Jedi were hunted after Order 66. Deny, deny, deny, until you have to reveal the truth...self preservation.
Jude Law's character definitely has some Jedi training such as "throwing" sounds to distract guards (recall Obi-Wan did this in Ep3 when he was turning off the tractor beam on the Death Star) so he is probably a survivor of Order 66, maybe a padawan or youngling. But he had to survive in the outside world.

Does anyone wonder whether Wim's father might know more about the wider galaxy than he lets on? Like he might be a surviving member of that crashed, buried pirate ship the kids are in? Considering how he told the Safety Droids it's not safe outside the Barrier suggests he might know more about the wider galaxy than he lets on. The first two episodes also hinted that the pirate ship might be 'newer' that it appears with how it enterred Port Borgo without the automated gun turrets blasting it. Brutus asked his underlings how the kids' ship got past the port's gun turrets, suggesting that ship had a positive IFF transponder which is still valid, meaning it's not that old. Plus, the skeletons and stuff in the ship (and the food Silvo prepared and ate) appear to not be that old (like years or decades at most).
I think At-Attin is where old republic credits are minted. I think it's rich in the material used in old republic credits and they mine it from the planet.
I agree, like they were the planet that minted the old republic credits, and its been controlled by a central computer (the supervisor). Then the planet was forgotten when the old republic fell, but they are still minting under the control of the supervisor. So I do believe there will be real treasure in the end. I don't know if that's what you were thinking, but that's my feeling.
Ohhh I like that. I'd go like this. Inside the planet is a huge planet size machine that's still running and making those republic money bars. It would explain why the pirates tried to land there and crash and why they cook flipped out seeing the money or why they showed the kid holding the money. The great work might be trying to open the locks to get in and it will take one thing they don't have a Jedi on the planet.
@@billlally2759but why would only money still be valued? They switched government multiple times and currency right? Maybe the metal it’s minted out of but that would be about it
Really really liking this show. It's simply full of charm. I watch it on the weekends with my grandkids. They don't have D+ at their home. But my biggest question for the show is, how did that spaceship end up buried on At-attin?
Hey Charlie! @emergencyawesome Alia Shawkat (Kh’ymm) is a main character and offered a stunning performance on The Old Man with Jeff Bridges which is a recent show on FX. I knew her voice sounded familiar. For a lot of the first episodes you hear her voice talking on the phone with her father (Jeff Bridges). So her voice really stood out in that series. Kh’ymm also reminds me of Maz Kanata from the recent Star Wars trilogy. I'm guessing I am not the only one who thought that. Thanks for all your awesome reviews Charlie!
Hey @@arfanvtec4071. It is not the same voice actor as Maz, but the Kh'ymm character reminded me of Maz for sure. And yes, The Old Man was an awesome show.
My theory is that the planet is kinda like a ark. A place that the old republic stored it's history and culture like a vault, i mean anything can be treasure e.g the new republic would pay a high price for anything linking to the legacy of the old republic as,that is considered to the current inhabitance of the galaxy as a utopia where there was no evil emperor but a great democracy
I really wish they would go back to the old Republic and do a bunch of movies and TV shows. It'd be great to see a whole bunch of other Jedi and sith things going on that do not involve the skywalkers
They tried to go back a lil with the Acolyte. I kinda liked it, but they tried some weird things with the "witches" kinda felt like a fan made Star Wars show.

I think that Wim's dad is gonna figure out what's wrong with the great work realising why his wife disappeared. Wim mentioned missing his mom in episode 1 if i'm correct.
Yeah, I thought about that at the beginning of episode 3 when Wim’s Dad, Wendle, turns around on the couch and puts his head down and touches his four nose with his two fingers like “there’s something deeply going on here that is wrong and I have felt it for a while now” I’m sure we’ll find out how his wife died and maybe it’s connected to her trying to leave the planet as well.
13:11 love the design choice of these droids having a literally security camera for a head which only hints further that this planet is basically a 1984 fully controlled environment with these droids acting as moving CC cameras
My wife and I have a running joke that there's really only one Gonk droid in Star Wars and that he's secretly holding everything together on a long spanning epic quest. He's basically indestructible but just kinda changes things for the better by walking slowly and bumping into things.
I haven't seen anybody make a reference to it yet, but from the way Jude Law was escaping with the kids AND his interaction with them keeps reminding me of him in A.I. Artificial Intelligence helping David find the Blue Fairy and the shot of them walking in front of the planet looks like the Moon blimp in A.I. also looking like the moon scene in E.T.

Life monitor might be a call back to the old EWOK movies. The young kid in the last one had a band with lights that represented the family, lights went out as they died.
The kids actually seem to work out what At Attin is for, while they are sitting at the table eating they work out their parents are all involved in 'finance' type work. been enjoying this series wayyyy more than anticipated. it is striking that early childhood charm really well, and the acting from Law is helping keep this series grounded.
Just had a thought about the "map" Khymm (sp?) had of the 9 jewel planets. At the bottom it looks like 4 people standing underneath 4 cocentric rings with something in the center. Could it represent the inner core like where Tython is and the outermost ring could represent the Outer Rim. Like each ring represents a core of the galaxy...inner core to the outer core???
3:43 I think the talk of KB’s life monitor is also a piece of backstory, that KB is not a cyborg by choice, that her cybernetic implants have a medical purpose.
Ever since 1st episode their homeplanet has a strong culty ''everything is not what it seems to be kind of vibe''. So to naked eye it looks like a utopia but it probably is a dystopia.
I don’t understand the link been drawn between the show and the Old Republic. The credit chits Wim has are engraved with the pre-Empire Republic insignia. Any references to the “Old Republic” in this era would refer to the pre-Imperial govt. given that the New Republic exists now. Perhaps they were hidden during the Old Republic era but they most likely maintained contact with the Republic until the rise of the Empire or within a few years of it.
I feel like Jod has PTSD after Order 66 and he is scared to tell the truth to the kids. You know they're too young to know about Order 66. Because the Great Jedi Purge is a horrible event.
Crimson Jack could be a former Sith, Crimson is another name for red and during the escape he changes the door from blue to red before they escape. Thoughts? Atattin = Galactic mint/ bank planet. People keep commenting on the money the kids show off

A and T are both strands of DNA so there might be word play involved as well. What do you thing?
The episode title brings this to mind from Joe Versus The Volcano (1990), one of the greatest movies of all time, produced by Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, & Frank Marshall at Amblin Entertainment: LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Have you thought much about luggage, Mr. Banks? JOE: No, I never really have. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: It's the central preoccupation of my life. You travel the world, you're away from home, perhaps away from your family, all you have to depend on is yourself and your luggage. JOE: I guess that's true. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Are you traveling light or heavy? JOE: Heavy. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Flying? JOE: Flying. And by ship. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: An ocean voyage? JOE: Yes. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Ah. Yes. So. A real journey. JOE: And then I'll be staying on this island, I don't even really know if I'll be living in a hut or what. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Very exciting. JOE: Yeah. LUGGAGE SALESMAN: As a luggage problem. I believe I have just the thing.
I was assuming that it was going to be pretty much just another unanimously disliked mess. I didn't even bother with acolyte and was going to skip this as well, but I've read a few comments on this video like yours... sounds like it's getting some love from the fan base! Guess I'll have to give it a try. Cheers.
Definitely enjoying the series so far. The first two episodes I was thinking “why didn’t they release this around Halloween?” And then I remembered Agatha and that’s way more Halloween-y
If he can find one. There might not be any others. The Onyx Cinder was buried for apparently a long time. EDIT: Horrible memory. Got the ship name wrong!
This series is honestly a nice fresh tale in a galaxy that has kinda run the same sorts of stories for a while. I didn't think it would amount to much, but I'm actually enjoying it so far.
“Very interesting… as a luggage problem” is a line from the movie Joe versus the Volcano. I couldn’t find if that was in turn a reference to something else.
SM33 is awesome, Jude is great.. I'm glad it's not all about him. This story is actually intriguing. I'm stoked to see how they play this out. Thanks Charlie.
I'm having problems watching it with ads after every 3 or 6 minutes of show. Whether they can make it interesting enough for people to keep coming back week after week remains to be seen.
Ben Jar Brannick looks a lot like Rygel from Farscape. That would be an interesting connection to Earth, from... a long time ago. Possibly Old Republic times.
My first thought was Aughura, from _The Dark Crystal_ talking about the Great Conjunction to the "Gelfling." Then I thought of the owl from _The Sword and the Stone._

They are bringing in the old republic. It’s about damn time
I figured her "condition" was some kind of mental thing, like autism spectrum disorder and the implants help her function like a "normal" pre-teen or adolescent. Her visor could be a heads-up display or to keep people from looking her in the eyes, or both. So far she hasn't done a freak-out over her routine being disrupted. But if her systems go down, maybe she will.
I’m kind of thinking that too. Especially since we saw Wim playing with a Jedi figurine and a sith figurine. By the time of the clone wars most of the galaxy didn’t even know what a sith was
I though the writers clarified that with Old Republik they mean the Republik after the war against tue brotherhood. So the Republik until order 66 which stretches among approx 1000 years
Their heads are gonna spin when they find out what has been happening in the galaxy. What I’d like to know is when they refer to “The Old Republic” which time period are they talking about? I’m asking this because in current Star Wars Cannon, there’s not a lot of information about the Republic before the great Sith Jedi War. I hope in their discussions with the kids that they’ll be able to figure out what time period the kids think they’re living in. Wim it’s going to be shocked when he finds out about order 66 and at this time the only known Jedi in the galaxy is Luke Skywalker and Asoka Tano, how many people in the new republic considers her to be a Jedi. We can’t put Ezra in this sentence because we don’t know when this actually happens before or after the Asoka show.
I think that is the same Security Droid in all three scenes. The first two scenes are him walking to Fern's house to then enter and give the parents an update.

The episode title brings this to mind from Joe Versus The Volcano (1990), one of the greatest movies of all time, produced by Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, & Frank Marshall at Amblin Entertainment:
LUGGAGE SALESMAN: Have you thought much about luggage, Mr.
A friend of my aunt didn't buy luggage but put their clothes in black garbage bags. They got taken out with the trash before they noticed.
This!
Droid running a planet? An advanced AI? What if this planet is Iokath and the supervisor is SCORPIO?
Whoo… didn’t think about that, would be cool to see!!
I am loving this show feels like it has been a long time since such a charming show has come out. Such a gem of a show
Thanks Charlie this was a really good episode really liked all the lore they introduced.
Kymm is my favorite love her as the knowledge character in this series
Can't wait for episode 4,
hi Emergency Awesome
Hey there!
Thank you Charlie.
No problem!
12:46 The first Droid sounded like Steve Urkel
If you’re talking about Gunter, the AJ6 cyborg, then that’s because they’re both played by the same actor, Jaleel White.
If you mean the PERSON with the cranial implants, it IS him.
@scotthewitt258 the Droid he first woke up
This show is fantastic. It is bringing back the joy to Star Wars.
I was assuming that it was going to be pretty much just another unanimously disliked mess. I didn't even bother with acolyte and was going to skip this as well, but I've read a few comments on this video like yours... sounds like it's getting some love from the fan base! Guess I'll have to give it a try. Cheers.
@batmanwins5701 let me know what you think!
I chose to think that on the Patch the circle with the symbole around is a stargate reference.
Ok. So I'm hooked. Great show. Finally a star wars series worthy of our time.
Definitely enjoying the series so far. The first two episodes I was thinking “why didn’t they release this around Halloween?” And then I remembered Agatha and that’s way more Halloween-y
For a second there, I thought they were going to shoot down those new republic x-wings, lol.
They can be shot down, but they have deflector shields too.
I wouldn't be surprised if Brother Wendal took a ship out and looked for Wim.
If he can find one. There might not be any others. The Onyx Cinder was buried for apparently a long time.
EDIT: Horrible memory. Got the ship name wrong!
Just my opinion but what if the "Supervisor" was SM33s original captain tht be a cool twist imo
Such a wonderful episode
This series is honestly a nice fresh tale in a galaxy that has kinda run the same sorts of stories for a while.
I didn't think it would amount to much, but I'm actually enjoying it so far.
Good breakdown. Why are the episodes so short?
Correction: John was Paz vizla in mandalorian and Pre Vizla in clone wars
Maybe that mass shadow generator took out the other 8 planets under Revan and At-Attin was hidden afterwards
Nice theory!
I could see that.
The Owl reminds me of Aughra, from The Dark Crystal
It’s like the series is a mash up of all the 80s kids films
“Very interesting… as a luggage problem” is a line from the movie Joe versus the Volcano. I couldn’t find if that was in turn a reference to something else.
SM33 is awesome, Jude is great.. I'm glad it's not all about him. This story is actually intriguing. I'm stoked to see how they play this out. Thanks Charlie.
Such a great Star Wars show....surprising!
Funny how the droid said "eye" two times to Jude's character, like "i'm watching you!"
Great breakdown Charlie
Thanks Charlie 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think the lone security droids is just the one droid, the one that comes to the house making it even more weird like there is a curfew
If Fern's mom was really a boss, you'd think she'd give the briefing to the other parents?
24:30 Paz Viszla was the one in Mandalorian, Pre Viszla is the one from Clone Wars
I really love this series. Just wish they were close to 1hr each episode
I'm having problems watching it with ads after every 3 or 6 minutes of show. Whether they can make it interesting enough for people to keep coming back week after week remains to be seen.
"Palmerish" reminded me of Palmyra, an ancient city on our earth.
Ben Jar Brannick looks a lot like Rygel from Farscape. That would be an interesting connection to Earth, from... a long time ago. Possibly Old Republic times.
Did Kh'ymm remind anyone of Archimedes from the sword and the stone?
My first thought was Aughura, from _The Dark Crystal_ talking about the Great Conjunction to the "Gelfling."
Then I thought of the owl from _The Sword and the Stone._
They are bringing in the old republic. It’s about damn time
They reallh got a PotC and Treasure Island reference with a single character's name 👏🏻
Alfred Molina is in the Star Wars universe
"Give me the idol; I throw you the whip."
In the opening KB's parent said she had a serious medical condition. I wonder how/if that will be paid off
I figured her "condition" was some kind of mental thing, like autism spectrum disorder and the implants help her function like a "normal" pre-teen or adolescent. Her visor could be a heads-up display or to keep people from looking her in the eyes, or both. So far she hasn't done a freak-out over her routine being disrupted. But if her systems go down, maybe she will.
Sounds like At Attin may have been hidden away during the Sith Wars. Maybe will get a reference or two to Revan by the end of the series.
Nice theory!
I’m kind of thinking that too. Especially since we saw Wim playing with a Jedi figurine and a sith figurine. By the time of the clone wars most of the galaxy didn’t even know what a sith was
Any chance we will get an old republic movie/show
The Dawn of the Jedi movie is supposed to film in the next couple years
I though the writers clarified that with Old Republik they mean the Republik after the war against tue brotherhood. So the Republik until order 66 which stretches among approx 1000 years
My expectations were so incredibly low for this and I'm pleased to say that so far it's not bad at all. 👍
I never watched that but she ws also in "The Old Man' recent spy series with Jeff Bridges
These kids have no idea about the clone wars, order 66 rise of the empire and until now ooh their in for a treat
