how to reset the wd my cloud home 3tb (exactly as what you have) to factory reset (even remove hdd info) before i return the product to the store that sold me it.
i did a reset button at the back, but it will not delete the test data that is in the hdd right ?
ever since i did the reset i can't access to the hdd already. don't know is the data still in the hdd and can't delete the data.

Thank you for making this video! Its super helpful! Can I ask, does this drive save iphone's HEIC photos, and view them afterwards on the iphone? I recently bought the WD Wireless Passport and it saved the HEIC photos from my iphone, but I after saving them to the passport, I could not view the HEIC photos saved to the passport - by using my iphone. So, even though it saved them, it doesnt let me view them. So, I am looking for a different backup drive. Can you please help? Thanks!

the speed test you did was done on wired connections or wireless connection ? I mean the my cloud was connected to your router and then your MAC was connected to your router wirelessly or wired ? if it was wireless then which band were you using 2.4 or 5Ghz ? hope you'll answer my question :)

I have had my My Cloud Home running on an Arris gateway for about two months with no issues. Since the gateway was a rental from my internet provider I bought a Motorola gateway and installed it today. Everything with the gateway worked perfectly until I eventually connected the cloud drive with the ethernet cable. It instantly killed both wifi bands. Turns out if the Plex app is enabled on the drive it can play havoc with gateways/routers. I had to reset the My Cloud Home to clear the account, reinitialize it from scratch, then connect it making sure Plex was not enabled and everything worked fine.
if i am traveling will this backup my photo's on an external Wifi? or does it need to be my home wifi?

A bit confused? Have you connected you Mac via usb/ethernet directly to WD My Cloud? Or you were copying to My Cloud drive using the My Cloud App?
I have used the my cloud for years but my model was not compatible with the latest security updates so I bought the my cloud home with wd’s discount. I loved the previous version file format. I could select say “documents” and every folder under that was included. I’m not sure the same is happening with the MC Home. The file setup made restoring look easy previously. Can you do a video on the Home file format and restoring files on a computer or phone. Mike
