Ty you deliver the facts and no bullshit. I was on the fence about the 4TB device but your videos have boosted me over. I got data all over the friggin' place but this is the solution I have been looking for. Thanks man!
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately WD has recently discontinued support for the device. Consider Subscribeing to the channel. More storage solution videos coming soon...
Dope video. I have one of those but it is only a single bay. I like it so far but I definitely want to upgrade so when I import file from my camera to my MAC mini I can dump them to save space
What's up Jimmy, thanks for the feed back. I had to edit this comment, the device is a bit pricey, but far less expensive than a 8td SSD, which could easily cost well over $600. Less then $400 for 8tb HDD is far more cost effective for the average Joe, looking for "cheap" NAS solution. This tech is old, but the device has not been discontinued, and that's a good sign in the tech world... I'll be reviewing some high end SSD's soon. Keep it 🔒✌🏾...
Thanks for the feedback, true I think brands like Synology do have cheaper more "mind bending" options. I find the new WD Red HDD's are reliable, fast & super easy to use. I think $390 green stamps is a valid price point, in comparison to the price of an 8tb SSD in 2021?!...
You said nothing about SPEED w0ould it be fast enough for Remote storage of Video files for Editing with an editor of the caliber of Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, or FPC?
Speed was not my main focus, definitely an over site. I've got to do better! However, the device is more web based now. And working directly from the device is not how I use it. But that's a good question 🤔 ... Give it shot and let me know if it works...
Lol....My review for 8TB home = F for drive failure. data in proprietary linux format not readable off docking station. All data lost WD MY home = failed . Redundancy back up a must when purchasing this model
Worst product i ever bought. It's slow, noisy, impractical, bad user interface, few extensions, can't connect directly to pc, web interface does not work, new faults and errors just continuesly shows up.
Man, one of the best videos reviews I've seen a while. Kept it real, easy to follow and zero BS. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the feedback ✌🏾...

🤔 more subs would be nice, glad you enjoyed the video, new content coming✌🏾...
I just got the 4TB model, 2 and 2 TB. , so far so good
That's dope, thanks for the feedback!...
It's worth noting that if one drive dies, if you don't have it in mirror mode, you'll lose the data on both drives.

Thanks for the feedback, the device solves a common problem, at decent price✌🏾...
Great video,....very intuitive! Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed the video✌🏾...
perfect review!
That’s pretty expensive for outdated technology. WD should be releasing these as SSD by now. Thank you for the review Ty !

Apologies If I missed this, but Is the fan of the NAS too loud to keep it in a room where you sleep?
Put it this way, It's not as noisy as a desktop. But you might hear the fan when it's working...
I have never heard the fan on my 6tb
does it have schedule on and off?
Not this model...
Dose the hard drivers included ?
Yes

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be moving away from HDD's altogether going forward...
nada mas fiable que un hdd de WD!
Thanks for the feedback. I think WD is more affordable, But there are more reliable systems available.
@@DeviceOverDose no es desmerecer a los demas pero en postventas WD gana. saludos desde buenos aires
@@Ramonsainz1977 it's no big deal, this particular WD unit is cheap and effective... Peace,✌🏾from Brooklyn NY...
Guys, avoid this device, going forward. WD has dropped update support for the My Cloud Home...
don't waste your data in this devices, mine broke and lost all
Thanks for the feed back. At this point I'd have to agree with you. WD has dropped support the the device...
