  • LAN Parties are legendary in PC gaming. Events such as Dreamhack and PDXLAN shine a much brighter light on what makes a LAN party but in the old days when that wasn't a thing, LAN parties started out in people's houses. In this video, I want to talk about things to be mindful of when running a LAN party in your own home, and show you a bit of stuff from our latest LAN Party :)

    I commented a few time on your lan party vids awhile ago with questions and you answered. Just wanted to say thanks! I hosted my first LAN party with 10 people and went flawless had the most fun in a long time and looks like it will be a yearly event with maybe almost 15 people for next time! Thank you for the help!

    When building a LAN party room consider installing thicker wires and cables for permanent installation so you don't melt/burn wires after changing the breaker or putting a breaker with higher rating

    • @CoalitionGaming
      @CoalitionGaming  7 месяцев назад

      It's a good tip. Most people will be doing LAN parties inside already built rooms though so it's good to know the circuit layout and know not to put too much stuff on any of circuit. I did get my wiring upgraded in part of my studio/office to support the possibility of higher draw though, considering all the computers, tech, and lighting that goes in there

    And invest in good extension cords if you need to run them. Dollar store cords will heat up and cause their own issues.

      Great GPU but you'd be better off buying a single 1080 or even a 1080ti and get way better performance. Though personally if I was looking at the higher end of what those GPUs cost secondhand... Radeon RX 6600s are commonly under $250 and match or beat a RTX 3060 which a 1080ti is competitive with. They are great deals.

    Would it be practical to have/help my guests undervolt their PCs to reduce energy consumption and temperature changes?

    • @CoalitionGaming
      @CoalitionGaming  Год назад

      Ehhh maybe with msi afterburner, something easy like that, on the GPU to just lower the power limit but it would be too much to juggle at a LAN party to get everyone a solid undervolt

    • @greatwavefan397
      @greatwavefan397 Год назад +1

      @@CoalitionGaming Sounds about right. Undervolting seems better off as a suggestion and not a requirement, even if it does have benefits.

    How many xboxes could you run on one circuit

    • @CoalitionGaming
      @CoalitionGaming  Год назад +1

      Depends. Look up how many amps an Xbox draws. Then you an run as many as you want, as long the total amount usage is under 15 to be safe.
