Look HAHAHA I adore Yvonne, I wish she did more camera time as her videos are so chalk full of RAW emotions, but she keeps it so light and playful, like the drawing machine thing, (Sorry forget what its called but I think it was one of the last videos I think she has hosted herself.) Also love when they are doing the WAN Show and Linus says hi to her, then she asks if they will be done on time and he says it will be the normal time, or something like that and she is like "Ok I'm taking the van home so someone has to drive you home, and I'm not waiting on dinner, then she leaves. I am also very glad that after everything you all went through that you have come back stronger then ever and I love that as I would have hatted to see the LTT and Family of companies not keep going and being there to stand up for the changes in many industries (your issue with your house switches and the firmware issue being a perfect example) and while I agree it would be nice if you didn't have to call these people to task, but if it were not for people and groups as a whole such as you and the LTT group to stand up and say NO! this is wrong, we would never get better service, just like the customer service secret shopper that you do every year or 2, those companies know when you do review them that they need to get better as you bring them to task, and in a world that is so connected not just with information's but products production forign companies would just not care and many times don't until someone hits them in the wallet and not just a lawsuit that they can write off but a customer base reduction that will hurt them for a long time, this is how change happens and I am so glad you as a whole do that very needed task. I have always had faith in you and your companies and while I didn't agree at all on the fallout from that unfortunate statement at LTX as top me it was not a lie, just very unfortunate timing, but i think that in the end it has let happen some very positive changes which I am very glad for. Jake would make a great director of implementation. I’ve worked with quite a few top people and he’s up there. Probably great with customers too, explaining things. If ever he wants a job as a project director, he could have it.
I really miss LAN parties. Did them in school and until about 2009. But even before that, the number of people willing to play was dwingeling, with life and family and all this stuff.
I feel ya, I did them in the 90's while in high school, but once the 2000's hit and everyone was starting new jobs, family, etc.. It's like I'll catch up with ya later, or I'll catch ya online.
Not only that, it feels like fewer and fewer games (that aren't FPS) have either multiplayer or multiplayer for more than 4 people, not to mention that even less games are made to be played on LANs (I.E. Local Area Network).
@@CommodoreFan64 I was an IT manager in the 90s with curiously 4 very well specified (for the time) PCs dotted around the building just for playing Doom after hours. Beer, pizza ... fun times!
Never would have guessed, but these “Linus’ House” videos are quickly becoming my favorite LTT content On paper it sounds like it would be the opposite
"12 Tables in the garage?!? You know it's not heated in here, right?" Silly Linus, there's going to be 12+ People and computers in there, I'd be surprised if you don't have to open a window.
I had a 10 person LAN party once, in 2007, where it was a blazing 32 degrees Celsius outside and I had NO airconditioning. And nothing other than fans to blow some wind through my house. That was the last time I had living fish in my aquarium. They popped up and whatever we did, we couldn't save them. In all honesty, I think the 32 degrees C without Airconditioning would have done it on it's own. Back then, it was considered extreme heat in Holland.
I love being able to poke around in Linus' house. Also, playing "spot the team member" on the big shots of the party is pretty neato. Edit: congrats to Shawn (and anyone I've missed) on their first on-screen appearance.
Got to hand it to my man Jake for filling the leadership vacuum and delegating. Its hard to be in charge, and alot like Jake, I often do it very competently but reluctantly. Keep up the good work Jake (and team, and Linus I guess)
I miss the days where we would just be in the same house and play video games together. Be it 1 tv with 4 controllers or when everyone brought their own pc. Gaming just doesn't have the same feeling anymore :,)
with some sci fi loving gaming nerd friends, we managed to meet up once a year for a few years now to play Artemis (and Mario Kart) at a friend's who's got a big projector for home theater and it's just real epic. for now I've brought an old laptop with like windows 8 still on it because artemis really doesn't need much and the touchscreen on it is nice, but I'm actually thinking about buying a new mid to low tier laptop just for that occasion next year :D (also maybe getting some mileage as a netflix machine out of it, so screen ought to be acceptable) One year we were one laptop/machine short and one player as the captain was just plain doing commands and using the main screen, it was awesome. It's a heck of a lot of fun, can recommend. I guess the "being an adult" part is having it just once a year :( Doesn't help that my nerd friends are all over the country.
At 200amp 240v, I assume that means as long as most of his power draw is 120v and evenly distributed between the phases, it means he actually has closer to 400amp able run simultaneously since each rail would have its own 200amp breaker.
You sound knowledgeable. Ive never heard of power draw issues in the UK with 240v. Is this a 120v Canadian issue? Or a 100 desktop computers in one house issue?
@@5ifty7even57 You would have issues in UK too with 100 computer running, also if you're house's electrical installation is old, it may even catch fire drawing that much amps on old cables.
@@5ifty7even57 In the US and Canada the 240v is split into two out-of-phase lines going into residential, each at 120v and when combined give 240v. This provides a bit of added safety with the downside of higher cost for wires. In general, you would rarely have a situation where you ran out of capacity, since even an electric water heater, electric heating and cooling, electric car chargers, electric kitchen appliances plus all the other household stuff still generally comes in well under 200a. However, 80 people all gaming might conceivably start to push it, but probably wouldn't since 200amps split into two phases actually means a combined 400amps if you only run 120v loads on it, which is what gaming PCs are. So they really weren't all that close to the limit unless they were also running a bunch of 240v stuff like AC and ovens etc.
Jake in this video is the evidence that LTT changes actually happened for the good of the company. He is so full of life and joy, you can see he is really having a blast working on setting everything up, and he can fully enjoy it because he is not as exhausted as he was previously.
I hope there's another video with more footage of the actual LAN party coming!!! 80% of the video was setup, would love to see the reactions and some of the best gaming moments.
Well to be fair, PCs used to be extremely expensive for the average person - even parents. Right now you can make a great gaming PC for a very reasonable price. Back when I was around 10 (2001) the Intel Pentium II was almost 1000 euros (1200 dollars).. so yeah.
To all of you who think "it is cool that LAN's are coming back" please note that they haven't gone anywhere. Check your local area for smaller events. Sure mega size ones with thousands of people are rare but the smaller events still run all over the place all the time. In fact it is to protect those smaller events that have poor net connections (here in the UK anyway) that LAN Cache was originally designed for.
This is such a cool video for a variety of reasons. The fact that Linus and Yvonne are willing to host the company, AT THEIR HOUSE, for a LAN party -- that's pretty awesome in and of itself. They have an awesome team of employees and it really shows how GOOD leadership and management can be. I MISS when I used to have the semi-annual LAN parties at Delta Chi. And then on top of all of that, from the infrastructure side of things -- showing off the power, the cooling, and the networking -- that's also really cool as well. Thanks.
I can’t imagine being the largest tech person on YT and touting Ubiquiti network gear. Yeah, it’s affordable and a good value but surely they can come up with something better.
You can still do them tho, me and my buddies try to have one like once a month. some folding tables in my living room, tons of extension cords stealing power from other parts of the house, it's very possible still, its often not "technically" a lan, since we often are still just using the default gamer servers and just a private lobby, but same vibes.
Yo, 100% not a sponsor, but I love my ubiquiti setup! I don't have a big house, but I have a tall house. My home was built in 1930, so the walls are really thick, it has a finished attic and a basement. Between 4 floors, the wifi never stood a chance to reach every level. And I tried the basic wifi extenders from amazon and they never really worked, or it required you to log into a totally separate wifi. Fortunately for me, the last owner installed ethernet throughout the entire house, so I got some UniFi access point devices for each level of my home. I then installed the UniFi software on one of my PC's so that I could easily control everything and my wifi issues disappeared over night. Honestly it's really nice.
Thanks to Ubiquiti for sponsoring this video and making this happen! Check out all their networking gear today at ui.social/LTT

I knew conceptually that the new house was big, but the fact that around 100 people and all the computers and tables can comfortably fit inside really shows off the scale of the square footage. 🤯
At 1:00 exactly, I LOVE Yvonne's look of "Say what now" and then transitions into "You do know I know where you sleep right, Oh and control all the money, do you want to be put on an allowance?" Look HAHAHA I adore Yvonne, I wish she did more camera time as her videos are so chalk full of RAW emotions, but she keeps it so light and playful, like the drawing machine thing, (Sorry forget what its called but I think it was one of the last videos I think she has hosted herself.) Also love when they are doing the WAN Show and Linus says hi to her, then she asks if they will be done on time and he says it will be the normal time, or something like that and she is like "Ok I'm taking the van home so someone has to drive you home, and I'm not waiting on dinner, then she leaves. I loved that WAN ep it was great.
Thank you for all the years of great content, you have honestly been a great way to catch up on what the newest tech is doing and how its preforming so I can help my customers make a more informed choice for PC parts, and all main consumer level computer tech that I might not have had time to try personally or can afford to try in a number of cases but you are able to and provide excellent reviews and reports on it.
Keep up the awesome work and Thank you again for the ongoing education and entertainment.
Sorry for any misspells having to type this fast while at work between customers :)
💜Love you both 💜and all of the LTT+ Family especially to 💜Dan Love ya man💜 and as I told you a couple months back on the WAN show we NEED more Dan on camera time 💜
My favorite part about LTT is that EVERYONE, every single quiet, reclusive, don’t touch me if you aren’t sterile!, homebody IT employee is talent. And they all look like the IT employees at my work who live in the closet next to the server room. We don’t care if you wore your pajamas to work today, didn’t do your hair or makeup. You’re going to be in a RUclips video. And I think that’s beautiful ❤
"You know the garage isn't heated?"
With all the hardware in there I don't think that's gonna be a problem
I've always wondered what goes into the infrastructure for a LAN party. Makes me appreciate the smaller LAN parties and how buttoned up they are. Probably comes from years of experience. Very cool
The look on Jake's face at 8:00 is just PERFECTION!! I know that look all too well.
I have been the one to have both of their faces far too many times...
Jake is such a knowledgeable lad. It's been awesome to see him grow and get more and more confident and put his skills into practice as time goes on. You can tell that every time he speaks he absolutely lives and breathes what he does. Keep up the great work man.

Any man who has been married in their life, is lucky to begin with.
11:55 He makes a killer Silent Bob. Kevin Smith would be proud!
Setting up for a party is fun. It's the cleanup that requires help and nobody ever wants to do. How was the cleanup?
I really wish the cleanup was included.
Jake just needs everything in life, he's so amazing
You know what, Linus gets some stick at times, but, i cant help but admire him for what he does for those around him. Got a lot of repsect for the man, the team and of of course Yvonne for putting up with his crazy shit :)
Yvonne was even the reason LTT got off the ground (she threw all her savings at it/Linus).
Jake crushed it! Super informative throughout the video, legit learned something today
this is the nerdiest house party i've ever seen. i love it.
Colton sitting in an electric gokart screaming for his life is the best thing ever.
Might as well since he will get fired for that
This is my favourite LTT video in ages, I absolutely loved the chaos and vibes lmao
Man this looked like an absolute blast. I'm excited to see what you guys can do in the warehouse!
Jake would make a great director of implementation. I’ve worked with quite a few top people and he’s up there. Probably great with customers too, explaining things. If ever he wants a job as a project director, he could have it.
This is what I'm here for. True nerd content that we can all relate to. The nostalgia is just *chefs kiss*🤌
My plumbing would be my biggest concern. Might just get a port-a-potty for the day for something like this 😂
A house as big as Linus's likely has 3-4 bathrooms in it. Probably fine for 80 people.
Nah, just tell all the guys to pee in the backyard
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M if you can't pee in your own backyard that's some bs

Beer, pizza ... fun times!
I love Colin's silent Bob bit from 11:41 to 12:00. Whether intentional or not, that made me chuckle :)
now that i think about it, i''ve never seen him speak in the few videos he's in.. maybe he's mute?

Never would have guessed, but these “Linus’ House” videos are quickly becoming my favorite LTT content
On paper it sounds like it would be the opposite
"12 Tables in the garage?!? You know it's not heated in here, right?" Silly Linus, there's going to be 12+ People and computers in there, I'd be surprised if you don't have to open a window.
20:46 "Come at me, bro" Linus said to his son, as he proceeded to score haha
Sounds like a good work holiday party
Colin once again strengthens his ‘Silent Bob’ mojo 😊
This highlights how amazing Linus’ team is, he’s extremely lucky.
I wish this whole thing was livestreamed. that would've been awesome to watch the whole process.
Linus’s home network setup is crazier than 90% of business out there
How many bathrooms for those 80 people chugging energy drinks?
I miss the days where we would just be in the same house and play video games together.
Be it 1 tv with 4 controllers or when everyone brought their own pc.
Gaming just doesn't have the same feeling anymore :,)
with some sci fi loving gaming nerd friends, we managed to meet up once a year for a few years now to play Artemis (and Mario Kart) at a friend's who's got a big projector for home theater and it's just real epic.
for now I've brought an old laptop with like windows 8 still on it because artemis really doesn't need much and the touchscreen on it is nice, but I'm actually thinking about buying a new mid to low tier laptop just for that occasion next year :D (also maybe getting some mileage as a netflix machine out of it, so screen ought to be acceptable)
One year we were one laptop/machine short and one player as the captain was just plain doing commands and using the main screen, it was awesome.
It's a heck of a lot of fun, can recommend.
I guess the "being an adult" part is having it just once a year :( Doesn't help that my nerd friends are all over the country.
Because new gen gamers kinda distracted to Tiktok craze. The last breed of hardcore nerd gamers were millenials
Please share more footage of the party!! LAN parties were awesome back in the day!
It'll probably be on Floatplane
Haven’t seen Jake in ages, good to see him back in a video

bro make more videos like this, everyone looks sooooo hyped up about the LAN Party, love itt
Interesting! Thanks!
Never. That's why I was asking is it a difference between wiring standards, or an exceptional use case.

Jake in this video is the evidence that LTT changes actually happened for the good of the company. He is so full of life and joy, you can see he is really having a blast working on setting everything up, and he can fully enjoy it because he is not as exhausted as he was previously.
I love when Jake gets into explaining stuff. I'm lost as hell just like mhm, sure.
I hope there's another video with more footage of the actual LAN party coming!!!
80% of the video was setup, would love to see the reactions and some of the best gaming moments.
Thanks for the '90s flashbacks 🙂 LAN parties were a blast. We thought we were hot shit with a gig backbone and 100mb to everyone.
I would have loved to see Yvonne walking and yell Linus full government name in rage.
Linus and his kids are really living the dream of every gamer right now :D
Well to be fair, PCs used to be extremely expensive for the average person - even parents. Right now you can make a great gaming PC for a very reasonable price. Back when I was around 10 (2001) the Intel Pentium II was almost 1000 euros (1200 dollars).. so yeah.
The amount of house shenanigans Yvonne has to just accept in your shared pursuit for content 💀
Can you imagine having a house that could fit 100 people. Linus amd family deserves this awesomeness!
I haven't watched any videos in probably a year... I see Linus and Yvonne have a new house. It's very nice! Great job!
Kid: my dad has a computer and PlayStation and Xbox
Linus kids: my dad hosted a whole land party with around 100 people
Colton not knowing how hotspot works on ios caught me laughing for a while😅
3:23 The fear was real. 😂
Thanks.
I loved linus' change from defensive to questioning when, as Colton started venting.
It's fun watching all your employees and others playing in your house!! Super awesome!!
I love this so much. I wish I could be part of the WHALE LAN one of these days!
I wanted to see all the cars that where piled up outside his house😂.
LOL all those SFP+ to RJ45 transceivers so close together are gonna be smoking hot!
I can’t imagine being the largest tech person on YT and touting Ubiquiti network gear. Yeah, it’s affordable and a good value but surely they can come up with something better.
4:57 Really? At this point? Rule No. 1 for having a great Party: DON'T BE THE EFFING HOST! xD
Linus and his team are crazy … in the best possible way. Legendary!
Lan parties where the good ole days :)
were
Nerd old days
You can still do them tho, me and my buddies try to have one like once a month. some folding tables in my living room, tons of extension cords stealing power from other parts of the house, it's very possible still, its often not "technically" a lan, since we often are still just using the default gamer servers and just a private lobby, but same vibes.
Im very glad we have 230V in my country... You can power 2500w kettle from Multi-Plug extension cord and still have 1100w spare:)
Great LAN-Party Video Guys! Would Watch Again! 🎉
