AV tech here, always try to stack projectors vertically. you had to lens shift a ton which made the picture sit in the side of the lens and bended the picture just enough to introduce the doubling effect. I did a job a couple weeks ago with 2 20k lumen projectors which looked awesome even with overcast daylight coming in.
They might have it showing *for* the LAN attendees but I'm pretty sure he mentioned before that with the logistics and everything with doing it at a show they'd probably do a fairly normal one in the studio then come over to the centre after
Some buddies of mine have been playing CS in tourneys recently in Philly and NYC and it's got me wanting to goto a LAN again real bad. Had one back in high school we'd always hang at, inside a mall with a pizza parlor like 2 doors down. Had glowing artwork on the wall with ultraviolet lights and a "Hackers" vibe with a fridge fully-stocked with Bawls and penguin mints behind the counter. Live music on weekends and the mall would let the place stay open past mall hours because it had it's own exclusive side door outside. I'd honestly bet LAN centers pick up again since us Millennials are getting older and we will have the money to make it happen, and I think old-school Bars are getting kind of boring. If there were LAN centers with good food, good beer, live entertainment and events I think it'd be everything that would give us enough reason to crawl out of our home command centers and be social again.

4:12 the "pull cord" is not for pulling the fiber. Even in the diagram it's correctly labelled as ripcord. It's for splitting the jacket when you go to terminate or splice the fiber. Edit: 5:57 unless there are loads of bends/corners in the run you can just tape the new length of cable from a fresh box and pull it through using the old cable that's too short. But yes, the most expensive piece of material is always the one that's just too short.

If you set up projectors like this, christie has projectors with different lesnses, so you could mount them on the opposite wall and still get 200 inches of screen, but no problems mounting anything. They also have angled lenses to make them kinda into short through projectors or other crazy stuff!
Pro tip for you guys running cat6, you should be able to tell how many feet are left on a used spool with a multimeter by measuring the resistance. You just need to know what the resistance value of a foot of cat6 is
converging 2 projectors gets you roughly 150% of the brightness of just one, so .5 brighter, and is diminishing returns from there, and yes without lens shift and at minimum corner correction it's not something you want to try because it'll never get good. that said, if you plan is to cast other games to the wall, and not game directly on it, you could look into blending several projectors across the wall to have as wide a canvas as you have wall and PiP in various streams and other content .

Like this man’s gonna have everything in there every man can wishes for….!!!!
Superb man !!
Finally a screen big enough for me to actually see.
Only 4 likes. How haven't people found this comment yet
16:42 - OH DAMN 😂😂😂 LET'S GOOO
0:56 "..And speaking of things we don't want to fail.." This segue to our spons.. "Our security system!"
Totally threw me.
Adams laught at 16:40 caught me off guard so much HAHAHAHAHA
So…. LAN show?
It's gona be WAN at LAN Fridays before long
That would be fun
They might have it showing *for* the LAN attendees but I'm pretty sure he mentioned before that with the logistics and everything with doing it at a show they'd probably do a fairly normal one in the studio then come over to the centre after
Oh man, this video is going to be a hell of a tax write-off.
😂
2:33 I like how he says uh oh when noticing Linus about to correct him
Kudos to video editors here, those transitions were sick!
16:44 what. WHAT.
Linus, now deciding to do in with the badmington court / lan and just convert this warehouse into his new home theatre.
"40 thousand feet" please 🥺 don't forget metric guys (most of the world) D:
You usually put a conversion for this things
Make LAN parties great again. I miss the bond you get when gaming in proximity of each other. Its a different feeling.
We held a LAN Party at our university last weekend and it was a blast. Brought a steam deck and an USB C Monitor. Was amazing!
Be the change you want to see in this world!
@@Digimess88 Its not just millenials but gen z too. Guess we're getting tired of doing everything over the internet
7:48 my great pyrenees/Australian sheppard: And who decided that?
6:10 Just to put some context, most planes cruise below 40.000 feet, that`s a lot cable.
The transition and editing in 12:00 look so freaking good
Linus is back at it. Writing off his badminton centre taxes
/s
Hahahahahahah
This comment is a tax write off
This would be the trip up north for! That Part 2 coming soon cutaway had me rolling 😂
Dan's really coming out of his shell on camera here. Really awesome to see. I don't remember the last vid I saw with Dan in it, but I don't remember him being this confident and outward in front of the camera. Keep it up 👍
BAAA HA HA HA 9:23 legit had me laughing at my office desk causing looks from co-workers
I recently installed a 550 inch screen with two 20000 lumen projectors for a two day event. it was for the background of a stage, so lots bright lights around. no gaming unfortunately, but very impressive tech
Question. How far your hand needs to be to not get instantly burned if put infront of the projected light
@@bosch5303 no idea. we mount them a few meters above ground before turning them on. so the closest I can get is maybe 10 meters.
I doubt it would hurt you, unless you spend hours right in front of the lens
6:18 Keep in mind the 100m limit on Ethernet runs. it's a pretty hard limit. I've ran into it for long runs between floors in offices and sometimes literally 1 foot of cable slack was the difference between full gigabit and no connection.
You can easily run Ethernet for kilometers over fiber.
@@DR-INSANE95 He's already talking about ethernet over fiber (several km before you need a booster), as opposed to ethernet over twisted pair (~100m), or ethernet over 802.11 AKA wifi (half that unidirectionally, maybe), or ethernet over bluetooth AKA BNEP (good luck getting 10m!).
@@ChristopherPuzey They were holding spools of cat 6 while discussing long runs. So I thought it was obvious I was talking about copper twisted pair.
@@DR-INSANE95ethernet protocol, it's not exclusively twisted pair. I also handle 20km fiber optics almost weekly, and those too use the ethernet protocol.
@@DR-INSANE95 Ethernet isn’t limited to copper
16:42 I did not expect that. But daaaaaaaaamn thats wild!
16:43 That's gotta be an Optoma projector for sure, this guys are really going to create THE projector wall ahahha
If you're ever concerned about the distance you have left for a run, you can measure how much wire is in a spool using a multimeter
Or just read the side of the cable. It's on every CAT6 spool, every foot.
@@technerd5637 no, if you've already made a run and now have a fraction left, your meter can measure resistance across the remainder and tell you how much is left
We went with a Epson LS-12000 and a TWENTY FOOT WIDE screen. Our screen is 2.2 gain so more gain will help you out big time.
I'll be doing my part in making DANS a standard unit of measurement in the industry.
I like the DAN but I think I'll have to stick with the Scottish standard unit of measurement, the Bawhair
Just use basic scales to accurately estimate how much wire you have on your box/spool 👍 Saves time and money when you dont have to get new spool every long run you make. Manufacturers usually have info for weight per yard/feet/meter so no guessing there 😊
I watch LTT at least 10 years and, damnit, they always get bigger and better. I remember watching the first scrapyard wars and look at it!
Badminton and Lan is a crazy combo
I think they need to set up a standing desk with like a 6 foot square mousepad and see people throwing it around in cs2.
yeah 1 dpi lmao
I can't wait until part 2
2:05. I cut concrete for a living. I'd love to have seen the process of cutting out the old floor.
OK WTH as a man who loves his projectors and I have dabbled in 3d projection mapping when I saw that HUGE projector pop on I WAS LIKE WOOO WTF!!! lol. SCHWING!
you had us at 0:58
Instead of 5000$ tech upgrade, more like 100000$ 😂. But really cool to see 🎉
Bro the warehouse alone was probably half a million I bet this project is a million dollars easy
300”?? That’s like 3-4 GPUs wide!
dude what are you talking about this video was out for only a minute did you watch it on x17 speed?
It's the thumbnail.@@d1d2k3g

@@DanielFerreira-ez8qd oh 😂
12:50 - Linus, remember that you have to have emergency lights when the lights are off, so be careful about that
15:10 bc thats how 3d movies work, mostly
ngl, whenever you guys do some over the top type shit I roll my eyes and go "yea, I guess thats kinda cool," but seeing that gigantic test image at the end genuinely made me sit up in my chair. I DEFINITELY need to see that! lol
Since you're in BC Canada, you should be adding renewable energy methods and how do compensate for all that extra heat during the lan parties? That would be interesting.
I mean roughly 95% of BC's entire power grid is renewable energy anyway haha
Honestly solar installed on the roof of the warehouse could make for a good video. Would probably cost way too much to be worth it though
That tease at the end, though. The posing of the question. The way he laughed. The cut to the balcony shot and the abrupt appearance of a gigantic test image. No notes. Immaculate filmmaking.
Excited to see what kind of LAN parties you will host there. I would love to attend
Wow that panning down shot at 5:10, this place is MASSIVE
16:36 and a few key seconds thereafter are probably the best part of this video, and it has all been great.
16:39 That ladies and gentleman was the official HELL YEAH nod
I don't understand how LTT is doing such good ad integrations lately, but I've actually been interested in them. Well done!
Finally, a badminton court with a high tech LAN room, where hardcore athletes and shut-in introverts can play together
As a live lighting and sound tech I really want to see a full lighting and sound rig in here! Just go crazy! Get Chauvet or prolights to sponsor you or something. Not sure why but an empty huge box just screams concert room to me!
16:11 evil laughter LOL
I think this maybe the first time in 6 years that I jave commented. 16.43 excited me and instantly upset me. Let's go LTT team! I'm so proud of you all and what you have achieved.
Always better to have overkill rather than underkill (as long as it is within the budget)
Doesn't really apply here, but there is nothing more frustrating than going to plug a workstation into the network only to find that the port you've plugged into (and the 5 or so others in the immediate area) isn't connected in the network cabinet/server room...
(getting the port[s] connected requires an IT department callout)
I'm getting old and not easily impressed but the projector testing and two projectors is mind blowing!🤯 Just one or two generations of laser projectors in the future, it could be used to project a video the size of walls in our homes!🤯🤯
