Here is a quick highlight video of some of the barrels and beat downs from this morning. We will be putting together longer compilation videos in the days to come. Today was Day 2 of the swell and the large surf really started to fill in today. Waves at this reef break were ranging from 8-12 foot faces in the morning. Then becoming even larger throughout the day. There were tons of barrels to be had.

Yeah that Pelican got a beat down. lol. They were all dive bombing the impact zone in between sets for a bait ball coming through. I was filming for 4 hours yesterday so this is just a quick teaser video before the main course.

So crazy right?! I've been filming over 20 years and never once seen that. Haha. They were all dive bombing a bait ball right in the lineup. Just feet from surfers. That one pelican was probably stuffed on sardines, like after a Thanksgiving meal. His friends are screaming, "Fred get out the way!!" lol.

Me neither. I didn't even see that when I was filming. I thought it was a clump of seaweed going over the falls but when i reviewed the footage last night I was like Holy S*** that pelican is getting wrecked.. Thanks for watching and hope you subbed.
The Pelican went over the falls at Big Rock after a lifelong yearning to be a Cormorant.

Separate the pelican clip on its own ! Get ahold of RUclips before (a must) then post that pelican going over the falls, then post that shit everywhere…. You will be rich.. no joke. Don’t think you know rare that is. Sitting next to a marine biologist right know, shitting themselves. Hurry if someone else has an already done so

@@SLAWTVvideos yeah I live in Baja Malibu in Rosarito Baja Mexico. Yesterday Baja Malibu was breaking so far outside insane I'd never seen it like that. There was a frame peaks breaking out in the horizon. I felt like a god! It felt like a movie. I've been surfing here since 1984 and now I live here! Thank God the conditions are cooperating with the swell. That rarely happens especially back in the day now it seems to happen a little more thank god. I remember 2 New Year's Eve in a row one of my favorite laughs in the world here in Rosarito was 15 ft imperfect. Just surfing it alone.

Thanks man, this is just a teaser of all the footage from that one day. Those pelicans were gorging on a bait ball all morning, he was probably so fat with fish, couldn't lift off.

Yeah another rarity at this spot. His name was Lorenzo Villela. He reached out after I posted. Another charger from this area, no problem in barrels and big surf.
More west direction (180)really helps da shape especially the end section at the old Lizard Lounge......
Yeah that pinch section at the end of the line always catches people. Which is so crazy because you'll see someone getting an insane barrel ride and then right at the end. BAM! Lip takes you out. Hahaha. Thanks for watching the video and taking time to comment. Appreciate it. Hope you subbed.

I don't know, once all the other pelicans see the beat down that one pelican took, they will think twice. lol. They are all probably at the Pelican Bar saying, "Did you see what happened to Fred yesterday? Over the falls and right onto the reef!"
This looks like the kind of surfing I'd like to try. My parents got me a board for Christmas. I'm on my way!

I actually do wish I had seen what happened to him. When i was filming looking at the monitor I could not tell what it was, I thought it was just a clump of seaweed going over. When I got home and reviewed the footage my jaw dropped. Haha. Thanks Ian for watching and commenting. Hope you subbed.

No sorry. Not recycled. Filmed them all Dec 28th, 2023. Only so many angles to shoot this wave from as the sun gets higher in the morning.
